Was cold and rainy in the north bay so my wife and I decided to order Chinese delivery. We are new to the area and haven't found a "Goto" Chinese food place yet. After looking at reviews and menus on Yelp we decided to try Ming's. We got Vegetable Spring Rolls Sweat & Sour Soup Orange Chicken General Tso's Chicken Chicken Chow Mein Chicken Fried Rice Overall everything was good, Spring rolls were light with a flaky outside, Chicken Chow Mein and Sweat & Sour soup were spot on. My only complaints was the 2 chicken dishes came with fried chicken pieces with the sauce on the side, Would of liked to have had that cooked into the chicken to bring out the flavor of the Orange Chicken and General Tso's Chicken, they still tasted good though. The Chicken Fried Rice could have used a bit more flavoring or more time in the wok, maybe both ? was was very light and bland. Still tasted good but could have been better. We were around the area craving for some Asian food and came across this restaurant. Plenty of free parking outside, it's a little restaurant inside the small shopping center. Came in and was seated right away. Our orders came out pretty quickly as well. We've been here four times in the last month. Every meal has been really delicious and with excellent service. I really don't understand the negative reviews- it doesn't match our experiences at all. We've enjoyed delicious Sweet and Sour Chicken, scrumptious Chicken and Broccoli, and my favorite, Szechwan Chicken and Broccoli. It's a nice ambiance, very clean restroom, in a nice shopping center. On a holiday retreat, and after so many big and expensive meals over the Christmas and Chanukkah holidays, we were thrilled to discover Ming's tucked away off the Main Street in Tiburon. Tiny and no frills, but bright and colorful. A birthday party was going on in the corner. A husband and wife and their little girl enjoying a feast across from us. Lots of people coming and going for takeout. But our server, took our order and delicious hot plates of food begam to appear. Potstickers, Wonton Soup, and Kung Pao Chicken plus a bowl of rice. My friend and I got takeout here while we were in the area. We were pretty jazzed that they were open to begin with and you definitely can't argue with the convenience of the location. The restaurant is in the same parking lot as the grocery store, but farther in towards the middle of the shopping center. There are plenty of places to sit outside in the shopping center as well. I got the pineapple shrimp and orange chicken, and my friend got the chicken balls. We both got some rice, too. The entrees are huge -- definitely enough to feed two people per entree. I was surprised at how large they were. The service was nice and quick! I think overall we only waited about 20 minutes for our food when it wasn't super busy. This is the first restaurant in the US, in my more than thirty years here, that has served me authentic sweet and sour pork the way I remember it in some of the best restaurants in Hong Kong. I ordered to go, and they put the sauce in a separate container so that the fried batter on the pork wouldn't get soggy. I popped it in my air fryer when I got home and dipped each piece as I ate for maximum crunch! The pork was perfect, not too lean, and not too fatty. The batter was crispy and adhered to the meat properly. And the sauce was a very authentic mix of sweet, sour and savory. The staff was friendly, and efficient, and was very accommodating when I told them I was on a motorcycle. The restaurant itself is unassuming, but clean and uncharacteristically warm and cosy for a Chinese restaurant. I am definitely returning to sample other dishes. read more

9/30/24. When I was visiting Tiburon for a few days, we were looking for a good restaurant so we ended up here. I rate this a 2/10 because of a few reasons. Some pros are that the Chow Fun was decent and the food came quick. Cons were that the staff probably forgot we were there because they didn't check on us at all and they didn't seem to care about there customers. Also, the ambiance was terrible because it was unsanitary on my table where there was a lot of sauce droplets and stains of I don't know what. Do not come here for customer service. They will do exactly what's asked, and that is to serve you your prepared meal. No frills and no thrills there. But the food. This is what's worth talking about. I live in Fresno, but salivate for their Egg Foo Young. Erase every pre-conception you have of a Tiburon restaurant and you'll be left with Ming's. I first spotted Ming's one year ago tucked away in little shopping center in Tiburon. It's a place with no street signage and you'll need to walk into a pedestrian accessible courtyard to find it. When you do, you'll be rewarded. Not by the decor or the physical space, which couldn't be less of a "wow", but by the large menu of really tasty Mandarin fare. For years I avoided Mandarin food, finding it uninteresting and nothing to get excited about but these days I find myself liking it. It feels like comfort food from another country, or maybe that's just because of the menu items I choose to order. Here at Ming's, two of us shared Vegetable Spring Rolls ($7.99), General Tso's Chicken ($12.99), and Veggie Ma Po Tofu ($9.95). With rice, we left carrying a box of leftovers, fully sated, and the bill - tax included - was under $40. The service was sweet, the space quiet and relaxing, and before I left I grabbed a paper menu to take with me so that I could review what I'd like to try here on my next visit. I don't know how Ming's does it? No matter what I order online (via DoorDash), I always get my food in under 30 minutes? And it's always hot and good. How is that even humanly possible? But these guys are consistent. And their food isn't greasy or full of MSG. When you order chicken, it actually tastes like chicken. When you order fried rice, it comes with fresh veggies. And the portions here are huge. I normally order potstickers and either beef or chicken fried rice or chicken chow mein. My bill (after tax, tip, & delivery fee) is under 30 bucks. And I have enough food for a couple days. My only small gripe was that my beef fried rice was lacking a little bit in the beef department. I definitely found myself asking "where's the beef?" Today being Christmas understandably only some restaurants are open this is a business that's supposed to be open yet they don't answer the phone. Busy tone. One of the times I called someone picked up the phone to only place it down without answering it, giving everyone else who calls In the impression it's actually busy. 1 Star rating for two reasons. The first is that their menu prices on Yelp are drastically dated. The chicken wings shown as $9.95 were $13.95!!! The mushi pork shown on the menu as $10.95 were also $13.95. I understand food prices have gone up, but when I complained about the price difference, the owner shrugged and said they haven't gotten around to updating it. So, ask the current price when ordering! Second, the mushi pork should be called mushi cabbage, because there was only a microscopic amount of thinly sliced pork. Very disappointing! read more
