Excellent value! Decent Chinese food and fast service. The free soup at lunch is a nice touch!

This restaurant was started by a husband and wife, and the husband died many years ago. It has since changed location to it's present site and expanded a bit. The owner runs it with incredible efficiency. The restaurant is always extremely clean and the staff are friendly and attentive, and there are always enough staff... never short-handed and overwhelmed. Though it's been around for many years the food is consistently high quality and well made. Rather remarkable how the high standards have been maintained for so long. As many others have mentioned, the service is quick and efficient, and the owner and staff are friendly and welcoming (unless they're swamped.) My mom used to go here literally daily, and they treated her like family. When she had to move to a nursing facility, one of the things she missed the most was the people at Ming Wah. and the waitresses and owner always asked how she was doing. I brought my son when he was young, and now he's away at college. Even if I haven't been there in months, the owner never fails to ask how he's doing by name. Nothing fancy as far as food goes, just good, fresh, well prepared food, served quickly . Very satisfying. I particularly enjoy the egg foo young and my son craves their hot and sour soup. As others have said, I've never gotten a bad meal here, and I've eaten here for many years. That's quite a testament to any restaurant. read more

Absolutely horrible. There's a lot of bad Chinese restaurants in the quad cities, but this one is by far the worst. The food tasted horrible and made me feel sick for the rest of the day. read more

Not too bad but not great either. Prices are good. I had Kung Pau and my wife had Cashew Chicken. The only difference was the nuts. Lots of veggies but not a lot of meat. There isn't much going in the QCA so have at it. read more

I love that this they use bean sprouts in the fried rice!!! Nowadays that is so hard to find around this area. The sizzling chicken rice is amazing also, right along with the service, atmosphere and staff. I would recommend this place to my friends and associates. read more

Upon walking in, the tone of very friendly service was set, which persisted the rest of the visit. The complimentary tea was delicious, reminicent of a good green or oolong tea, and the egg drop soup was also very good. The crab ragoon was more cheese than crab but decent nonetheless. The egg foo young was one the better I have had in this area and the mongolian beef was moist but not impressive. I look forward to returning to sample different items. read more

Very fresh food, quick service. Fried rice is light and tasty, general chicken was ok. I'd probably stay with something non-fried next time, the rest if the folks at my table had great food. With that said, decor could use some updating, other than that it's very good. read more

Ming Wah is at the top of my list for Chinese in the QC. Food is fresh and portions are huge. A large will definitely give you a second meal for later. I love their chicken and broccoli, Mongolian beef and sesame chicken (not on the menu but never had a problem ordering it). I was very disappointed today. This the first time I went in here. the host stated I could seat anywhere. I was then told by the host i could not sit at the table I was at. I left not sure if the food is good but the customer service is horrible. read more

One of my favorite Chinese places in the area. Discrete but central location. Fast service and I've never had a bad dish. I mistakenly got a 'large' portion at dinner a few nights ago and it was a lot of food. Two people could have probably shared this much food. Many other local Chinese places have gone downhill lately but this place has been consistent for a long time. read more

Favorite Chinese food in the area. I have traveled world wide and, unless you want to go to an expensive Chinese restaurant, this place competes well with American style Chinese anywhere. The service is great, fast and pleasant. They bring the tea immediately. The fried rice is light and not too greasy. They have a good selection on their menu, haven't had a bad meal. Their Sizzling Rice Soup tastes good but lacks the sizzle. I.E. I miss the places that put fresh fried rice into the soup and the steam pours off. Would rather have rice more fried in this dish. Egg rolls are good and not too greasy. I eat here often, and I live and work on the Iowa side. read more

Ming Wah offers amazing Chinese food. I grew up in the neighborhood, and I lived for over 8 years in Beijing--it's a pleasure to visit Ming Wah. The owner Poi is always on site helping guarantee the freshness and quality of the food, the excellence of the service, and the cleanliness and charm of the space. She clearly takes great pride in the food and culture, and it shows. Fresh dishes are consistently served piping hot, as they should be. Excellent taste and service. A top-notch restaurant. hands down the best chinese food place in the quad cities. order the hot and sour soup, an egg roll and literally anything off the menu and your stomach WILL thank you. if you're sick, do yourself a favor and order the chicken sizzling rice soup with some hot chili oil on the side. please stop at ming wah's! read more

This place is great. The staff there are always very friendly and attentive. The food is made very quickly. I don't think I have ever waited more than 10 minutes after ordering to get my meal even when they are crazy packed. They bring hot tea to the table which is really nice. Their food is spot on every single time I visit. The portion sizes are always nice and big too. I order the larges and bring the rest home for dinner the next day. Favorite Chinese restaurant! Great service. Fried rice is excellent. They'll do some substitutions. My favorite is Ming's Beef add spicy. But, sometimes, I'll have it with chicken rather than beef.
