We saw this place online while we were on our way to the John Deere Pavilion. Is it called the steel plow because of John Deere? Idk. We saw a picture of the milkshakes and decided we HAD to come here. Great looking restaurant, very clean and modern. Our waitress was super nice, always making sure we had what we needed. We started off with an appetizer of cheese curds. They had a combo basket with all 3 flavors; regular, garlic, and jalapeño. Very disappointed, could not tell the difference in flavor between the 3. We asked our waitress if it was a mistake and we didn't get the combo but she unfortunately said no and that people have mentioned that before. I of course got a burger, bison burger, brioche bun, and the toppings I like. I built my own because I just couldn't make up my mind. I loved it, cooked perfectly, juicy, so much flavor. I think it was my first time ever having bison and I enjoyed it. Fries were good. Now here comes the delicious part, we got a chocolate chip cookie sundae to share because we were stuffed, and the price of the milkshakes seemed a little high. It did take a little longer than we hoped to get to our table, but our great waitress kept us updated and apologized for the wait. It was so good, my mouth is watering 30 hours later thinking about it. It was enough for 2 adults and a 21 month old. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. Had dinner at Steel Plow in Moline tonight and had a great experience! I was excited to see Yuengling on tap -- definitely a bonus. We shared the family pretzel and I had the Mr. Anderson burger; both were delicious! The burger was a touch overcooked (ordered medium), but still good. We did our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Steel Plow in Moline and it was great! We were trying to go for a more casual laid back since the next day was gonna be all dressed up and lots of go go go! Steel plow had the best setting for what we were going for. They rented out the glassed in patio for our whole party and it was great cause there was plenty of room and we were able to talk with and hear everyone. The food was fantastic. We did the burger bar but there was a slight mixup. When we signed up for it there was supposed to be brats and chicken with it. We chose this for the variety that it had to offer so everyone was accommodated. They only had the burgers set up when we got there but they quickly apologized for the mixup and got the chicken out pretty quickly and I have to say it was really good! Grilled chicken can easily be dry but this wasn't! It was juicy and seasoned to perfection. The burgers were fantastic too! Someone said it was one of the best burgers they'd had. They had a good variety of sides and apps you could choose from. All very good! And a couple people ended up ordering shakes...only one word describes those shakes...Epic! So if you are looking for good food, relaxed setting and a great price for it all, we definitely recommend Steel Plow. We'll be back very soon! read more

Let me start by saying we have been here at least four times. The atmosphere is good. The waitresses are very friendly, accommodating and responsive. My complaint was the prices for drinks! My son had two beers that were $11.00 each! My daughter in laws drinks we 11 also. Really high for a small bar/ restaurant. Burgers were LOUSY... they were lukewarm, but they were really expensive for preformed meat patties thrown on a flat top. The French fries were nothing special... some were seasoned, some not. I had water and a chop salad... decent salad, but grated cheese out of a bag...bleh... Overall food quality was mediocre at best. Quantity over quality for sure. It's OK. Service was good. Food was not great. Artichoke dip appetizer was definitely not worth it. Cajun macaroni and cheese had basically non-spiced shrimp and chicken. Not sure why they would do that. The "blackened "chicken definitely was not. Shrimp also had no seasoning. Wife's burger was fine, nothing to stand out. Overall, pretty average at best. Good day to all you readers. I used to love the Steel Plow. It has been awhile since I ate there so we decided to go have dinner there last night. The place looked fantastic. Clean and bright. The staff was among the best I have ever experienced. I thought this is going to be a great meal. The waitress was really good at informing us about the menu and the food. It sounded delicious. I chose one of the specialty burgers thinking that is what they are known for I should indeed have one. The waitress asked each person how would you like that cooked? I thought they must have changed the rules in Illinois. I was indeed mistaken on that assumption. The beautiful brisket hamburgers were cooked until they were dry and tough. I thought they messed up on mine. Well as I looked at the rest of the plates on the table they all were cooked the same, dry and rock hard. I will again steer clear of dining hamburgers in Illinois again for many years. They could have at least plastered the sandwich with flavour and sauce. I wasted $20 and somebody wasted a lot of money making the restaurant look so nice. read more

The birthday cake one literally comes with a slice of cake on the top of it and a ton of candy on the plate it's served on. Nicely presented with a variety of flavors. The milk shake itself is fairly average but the presentation and all the extras makes it impressive. The truffle fries came with a truffle butter on the side. So you have to spread the flavor yourself. They have a nice patio area with the windows that open but since we came when a storm was blowing through they had to quickly shut everything before the tables were all drenched in the deluge. Attentive--for the most part. They seem a bit understaffed but Blakey was doing her thang irregardless. She's so sweet. the menu was so vast that we took a while to make a choice. eventually we came to a common ground on what appetizer to start off with (the mac, there are several different options btw). This is bar food and a beautiful bar is pretty standard, but what isn't standard is the food and the desserts food was out of this world and the desserts were so big and beautiful. While spending the week in Moline, IL for a work trip, Steel Plow Burger looked like a good spot to pop in for a working lunch. The restaurant was clean and they were following the recommended Covid-19 guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing. The food was a bit delayed coming out of the kitchen even with a limited amount of guests in the dining room and the attentiveness of our server was definably lacking. In a weakened market where restaurants are doing what they can to survive (in some cases), servers have to be at the top of their game. When your guests feel neglected and not cared about by the employees of your restaurant, they don't come back. read more
