Love this place, owners service, food, everything! We try to stop in for lunch anytime we're in Davenport!

Every once in a while, you find a truly special place that feels like home, has amazing food, and that you know you will never forget. We did not want to leave this delightful spot. The asparagus soup was world class. Food was fresh and full of flavor. And get dessert! Warm bread pudding or chocolate cake. Both were perfect!! I'm tea lover, and they had a whole menu of fresh brewed teas. Hot or iced! Black teas, green teas, white teas, even the delicate pu-erhs. Must stop in Iowa!! The owners are the most lovely people you will meet!

I almost hate to add to the flood of good reviews, because this spot gets busy enough already. But it's excellent and deserves all of its success. You can't go wrong with their soup, sandwiches, deserts and coffee. Their quiche is alleged to be wonderful too, but I can't stop ordering the lunch combo (soup/sandwich or salad pick 2 combo). Perfect lunch sizes, great combinations, fresh and delicious. The kind and friendly service is casual and unpolished, but no complaints from me. They're open fairly limited hours and seem to be very busy whenever they're open. This lovely place is a local gem and I'm always glad get a chance to get there

Wonderful food! Cozy ambiance. Extremely personably service. You won't be disappointed!

So, I'm from out of town some 3 + hrs drive away. I had some in town local business, and I had wanted to try a top rated lunch place. It's a breakfast, lunchtime spot with an abundance of character. It's located in a later 1800's Davenport IA. historical converted home. Next to the railroad tracks in the city. I placed a take away phone order, in which they didn't pester me for any payment. Wow, total trust. So, I ordered two Muffuletta (with the ham, salami) sandwiches which come with potato chips. You can specify the spiciness level. They were quite flavorful. I also ordered the Lemon Zest cake and the Chocolate Espresso slices. Both were moist and tasty. I wasn't crazy about their flimsy takeaway containers and they packaged everything in one paper bag. When I had asked, they separated some items like the cake slices. Overall, a very nice welcoming experience and a nice chat with the harder working woman owner. I would definitely return when in Davenport.

I'm visiting Davenport from California and my daughter brought me here the day after Christmas for brunch. It was amazing! The ambience is extremely homey and close knit. The food was delicious and service was outstanding. It truly feels like you're dining with friends. They owners greet and take your order. They treated my granddaughter like an absolute princess. You've got to try the bread pudding, it just melts in your mouth. Absolutely will be coming back because there's just no other place that compares to Cafe D'Marie. Not even in California.

Found Cafe d'Marie online. Good thing we did because if you're not local you'd be hard pressed to discover the goodness inside of this place. Driving by there's an open light in the window and a small banner on the deck. That's all that tells you this is a public establishment and not a private home. Cafe d'Marie is a family affair and great care is shown toward wanting the customer to enjoy their experience. The owner was very welcoming and pleasant to chat with while we waited for our drinks and cookie. The homemade bakery items are the bomb and while we didn't have one the panini sandwiches sounded equally intriguing. There's indoor seating and a nice backyard area as well. A fun little stop we stumbled across only a few blocks from the downtown market area.

    Lemon cake - oooooh.

All style, no substance…read more On a daytrip to the Quad Cities, I made a list of places for Emily and I to visit. After pouring over all the possibilities, we settled on getting 392 for our caffeinated needs. We pulled up to a bunch of sidewalk construction but were lucky to find our way inside. Once inside, we were greeted to a really loud, really vibrant coffeehouse. Nay, I wouldn't call this a coffeehouse. It felt more like a jungle gym. The place felt upscale, bougie, and a bit pretentious. We walked up and were greeted by some friendly, if not standoffish, baristas. Emily knew what she wanted beforehand but once she got there, she tried ordering a cold brew with some flavor shots to it. The barista seemed confused and told her she should just order a different item (a blended drink) if that's what she wants. Well, they finally worked it out and Emily got what she wanted. I got my usual iced americano with no troubles. The place was busy not with just kids but there was a business meeting going on. The place was very loud and reminded me of Zion Coffee Bar. Stark white walls with sounds bouncing around. Luckily, Emily and I were making plans to dip out and explore the city with our coffees in hand so we weren't subjected to the volume for too long. The wait time wasn't too long for our coffees with how busy the place was. We waited maybe 10 minutes for our drinks and were very happy to make our way on to the next destination. Maybe we are getting older and hate sound but it's not a place we could've sat and enjoyed a quiet conversation or relaxed to a nice book. As we left, we tried our drinks, and I knew instantly my drink was a bust. The americano was an off-light brown color when it should've been a deep brown. It tasted... off. Emily hates my americanos but she took a willing sip and said that my drink was messed up and couldn't place it either. It's like they used only one shot of espresso for the size; it was too diluted, too not-espresso-y tasting. Emily really enjoyed her cold brew, and we made plans to get coffee somewhere else later in the day to make up for it. I can't say I recommend this particular 392 location due to the weird vibe amongst the baristas and awful Americano/espresso. Maybe it was an off day or maybe that's just how it is. The change from your typical coffeehouse was a nice change of pace, though! I don't get up to the Quad Cities too often but would be willing to try one of their other locations after I make my way through all the other coffeehouses first.

Review Visit: April 10th, 2017…read more Aroma = Amora. Aroma backwards is Amora and Amora means 'love' in Spanish. I do love some good coffee, but do I love Aroma? Yes. Aroma was fantastic. When driving to it, it was a bit hard to find due to it being tucked in with a placed called The Green Thumbers, which is a pretty nifty gardening store in itself. So aside from being attached to a gardening store, it is a full-fledged cafe/coffeehouse on it's own. Upon entering, the staff was super nice and struck up a conversation and asked what I was doing today. Told them the boring part of my business reasons for being in the area, but also the fact that I like to try new coffee places while out and about. They offer a large variety of coffees, lattes, frappes, baked goods, sandwiches, salads and more. I ended up just getting a specialty drink called 'The Tuxedo', which was hot espresso and milk with white and dark Mocha added to it. It sounded pretty good and it did not disappoint at all. In their display of baked goods, they had a chocolate peanut butter cookie that was calling my name... or my sweet tooth was calling for it. Either way, I requested that along with my coffee. The barista even offered to warm it up. I tell you, this may be one of the best cookies I have ever had. I've had some of the best across Illinois, especially at Insomnia Cookies, and this place may rival them on the cookie level. The interior is very formal with out being too formal. It felt cozy but modern. Everything was gray/white/black with nice furniture and some wall decor. But the best part? The two stuffed bears in there. One was about 5 feet tall and there was a baby bear on the other side of the chair, holding a coffee cup. You can see them below. They aren't taxidermy bears mind you, but stuffed plush bears from the store it is attached to. This is the second coffeehouse I have been to with bears in it, the first being Thirty-Thirty Coffee Co. in Peoria, IL. Bears and Coffee go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly... maybe? No bear puns yet? That's un-bear-able! Overall, Aroma Coffee is Amora indeed! The coffee was great, the cookie was beyond amazing and getting your photo taken with the bear is an added bonus. Aside from it being a bit hidden so one could easily drive by, it is worth hunting for. The coffee/cookies that is. Not the adorable bears inside.

Would be a 5/5 star if they allowed service animals (it's illegal not to)…read more Though I didn't have a service animal I know many who rely on them so it's upsetting :( many restaurants allow working dogs and even just some dog friends but a cafe attached to a garden doesn't? Everything else was good though I'd go back for the crepes
