Menus are not updated since 2016. I ordered a vegetable lunch plate that said it was $7.95 and got the bill it was $13.95. 2 appetizers that were marked $8.95 were $14.95. The managers reasoning was the coupons at the bottom expired in 2016. Which was in the small fine print. Horrible new years eve experience. I ordered Chinese food to pick up around 6 pm they stated it would be an hour and a half. Showed up to pick up my food. The girl on the register in the front said they didn't have my food. I gave her my phone #, no record. She then asked me what I ordered I told her 2 combo dinners. She the proceeded to tell at the top of her lungs: " we don't do combo dinners on new years eve!" So I said ok...nobody mentioned that to me on the phone. She ordered me to leave the restaurant. Called me a liar. I left furious that these stressed out Chinese people can't handle their customers. read more

We've been here twice since they reopened. The first time the food was awesome. The second time it was just okay. We got a luncheon special it tasted like it was pre-made earlier in the day and microwaved when we ordered it. It was close to 3pm the clerk tried to charge us the regular price until we reminded them the order was placed before 3pm. They charged us the luncheon price. Honest mistake on their part. Update: Ate here a third time we got House Fried House and it was EXCELLENT. We'll definitely eat here again. I came in tonight and ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan. In my opinion its a healthy dish because it has vegetables and chicken. I ordered a beer. When the dish came out it had chicken but only mushrooms. I complained. The bartender proceeded to tell me what Moo Goo Gai Pan means "chicken and mushrooms" in Chinese. I said, I'm 64 years old and have eaten Moo Goo Gai Pan at many Chinese restaurants over the years and this was the first time it came as chicken and mushrooms only. He said "Different Chinese restaurants have different recipes. I'm going to see what's going on in the kitchen." and left the area. Then the woman at the front desk came in and repeated what he'd said about what Moo Goo Gai Pan means in Chinese. I said "I've ordered this in the past as takeout at this very restaurant and it had peapods, water chestnuts, etc..." She then offered me Chicken With Vegetables. I said okay. Sad to say I will never return to this restaurant which is a shame because I've been going to it since 1980 something. To have someone try to tell me that I didn't know what I was ordering, and try to teach me the Chinese language like that, was a total insult and is inexcusable. read more

I ordered food tonight at 5 pm for my family. Food was cold undercooked and two strains of hair was pulled from chicken dish. We immediately packed food back up and called restaurant and was told to bring food back. On way to restaurant I received call from manager who was rude and basically told me she would call police if I came into restaurant. First off we are wearing masks when we enter place you have 10 people smoking cigarettes at the front of the entrance ! That is highly illegal and disgusting to non smokers move their rude ass's away from the entrance this is frequented by people with kids and family's . I walk into bathroom and clearly someone is smoking ( something) in the bathroom that they shouldn't You need to stop that shit ! Someone literally was smoking crack in the bathroom stall next to me, so if that's the kind of experience you are looking for the ming is for you. Wouldn't recommend unless you're coming for drinks. Went to go eat out with my friends at around 8PM, sat at a table and got asked for our IDs. I am 18 and was looking for a bite to eat. I understand how they could get in trouble or lose a liquor license but when you won't serve food to happily paying customers and only welcome in ones who are drinking, it is bad for business. read more

This is the worst Chinese food on the south shore. Absolutely gross. Please don't go if you want good food. If you like loud music and the section 8 crowd then you will love it. Honestly, the new owners are doing quite a good job at turning around the quality of the food than the previous ones. Since the roof collapse, the sale, and the reopening: it seems that the food has improved tremendously. It has great flavor, quicker service, and an overall more pleasant feel than the dive bar of old. It still is dark, questionable bar but isn't that what we all really want? Yuck. Bad drinks, service and food. Lots of creepy patrons. My discusting chicken wings (I shouldn't be eating fried Chicken wings anyway) were so dry yet somehow so greasy at the same time. Since they have a new owner, this has been my new favourite go to take out. The workers are super kind and the food is always prepared deliciously. Just so you know also, there is a $2 delivery fee. I love the lo mein because they actually use a nice sauce instead of boring dry noodles, which is what I've been looking for! We have been dreaming about going back to the Ming for weeks! I had some sushi and my wife and kids had some Chinese food and it was all really good. We went in Easter Sunday and it was so relaxing and great. The service was good and the food was fresh not greasy. Grew up on The Ming so it has deep roots with me. That being said I know it wasn't the best Chinese food within reach. The food now is actually significantly better than back in the day and the restaurant is as clean as ever. I can't quite say 5 stars, but pretty close. I'll still think you get a better bang for your buck as compared to Quans. Happy they are back open and will be back again, and again. read more

I've gotten the pork egg foo yong, fried rice & chicken fingers last week..The time before we had the kung pao chicken, fried rice -all were very fresh tasting with little grease. I was craving Chinese food so a friend and I recently went to Ming Dynasty. The new decor is cool, I liked the atmosphere. We got a cozy comfortable booth! Nice! I don't like when a restaurant is too brightly lit, so the low light was just perfect for me. The waiter was attentive and sweet. Good, quick service. The food was your average Chinese comfort food--not fantastic, but definately not the worst I've had. My friend and I agreed that it satisfied our cravings. Though I no longer drink/party like my college days, it reminds me of the type of place I would have loved to go after partying and pigging out--- at a decent price. Oh, and I liked that I was able to get a single pu-pu platter. I found the pork fried rice a teeny bit on the bland side for my tastes, so I dumped a lot of duck sauce and soy sauce on it and gobbled it up. As a kid the Ming Dynasty was my first experience eating at a Chinese restaurant, and it was so magical back then. Now as an older person I'd say the food is decent, VERY nice price ($12.00 for big meal), large portions, and great service/decor. Solid 3 or 3.5 stars. read more
