LABELED food!!! I will add more pix later : )
Ashley F.

AMAZING. Not only is the food delicious, but our delivery order (DoorDash) was 100% accurate down to the no ice in my Thai iced tea and the extra sauces I requested! I can't even remember the last time this happened. ALSO? Everything in the bags was actually LABELED! Whaaaaaaat?! How many times have you wished your take-out would arrive labeled?! No need to open and compare the receipt to see who ordered what and what pairs with what. This was my first time trying this restaurant and it is now officially my favorite Thai place in Salem. And just so you know, I would still feel this way solely based on how yummy the food is and how accurate the spice level is! Can not recommend more highly!

Outstanding food! A large menu with standard Thai items, but also items that aren't on every Thai menu. Fast, friendly service.

The service was kind and the food was AMAZING! I've grown up in the Salem area and I can confidently say that this is some of the best Thai food in the area. It's fast to come out and absolutely delicious flavoring. The menu is vast and I can confidently say as a mango sticky rice fan, they have the best one in town! They are located in a cute little spot off commercial. I highly recommend!

Not at all what their wings look like on their website.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while, but unfortunately, I was really disappointed. I ordered the curry puffs (my favorite), Thai wings, and Pad See Ewe. The curry puffs were overwhelmingly sweet and not at all what I expected. The wings were dry, overcooked, and swimming in sauce, which made them unappetizing. The Pad See Ewe lacked flavor, was very dry, and had very little chicken or vegetables, mostly just dry noodles. I've attached pictures showing the difference between how the food is advertised and what I actually received. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Great bubble tea. The spring rolls are great although last time the sauce wasn't the normal peanut sauce and that was a bummer.

The Pad Thai was delicious and very plentiful. The Curry Salmon was very mild and full of flavor.

My favorite place for Pad Thai. I like it extra spicy so they added some Thai Chili peppers. Veggies are very fresh and delicious as well.

Five Stars -- A Must‑Try in Downtown Salem!…read more My wife and I stopped by Akai Ramen yesterday, and this spot absolutely delivered. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, hot gemai tea, cucumbers, fresh salad, and the seafood ramen -- every single dish came out flavorful, balanced, and clearly made with care. The portions were generous, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality. The service was immaculate from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming -- the kind of hospitality that makes you want to come back before you've even left. The decor is clean and modern with plenty of seating, creating a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a date, a family meal, or a quick bite. Yes, you do have to pay for parking in downtown Salem, but once you're inside, the food, the vibe, and the service make it more than worth it. If you're anywhere near Salem, I highly recommend stopping by. Akai Ramen is doing everything right -- great food, great people, great experience. Five stars all day.

Plenty of street parking available and the storefront had lovely plants at the entrance. Walking in felt a little crowded and awkward because of the small entryway. But it did look like they have a few booths, tables, window seating, and even a bigger private room in the back. The lunch specials were $9.99 which was an amazing value for sure! I got the Happy Bimbim Bap with chicken and my hubby got the Spicy Pork Bento Box (the bigger one for $15) The friendly staff set up our table and gave us all hot and freshly made green onion pancakes which was a nice touch! (Although it was a little too oily) Our food came out super fast - within 10 minutes of ordering?! The kids and I enjoyed all the veggies and egg for my bimbim bap but the chicken were cut until small pieces were just ok. My husband did enjoy his Spicy Pork with a good amount of spice (they asked him if he wanted spicy) and came with potstickers, California rolls, rice, and a side salad. My daughter actually really loved the green bean banchan and the daikon and kimchi were super delicious too! The owner came to our table to say hi to the kids and each table got watermelon as dessert (the Asian way!) She was so nice and offered extra watermelon for the kids if they wanted it. It also looked like they do a lot of local community work with the homeless and were super involved in providing food to those that need it. Such a lovely local restaurant. If you're in the area definitely come give it a try!

One meal was enough to feed me all day, and the Spanish coffee I got was mixed perfectly. Seats are extremely limited, but the service was super fast so even with a full plate you get in and out comfortably in under an hour. Other reviews mention rude service staff, but my experience was the total opposite. I wish I could've gotten her name to give her a shout-out. :) I do have to mention the lack of parking. There were still empty tables when the parking lot was already completely full. There were maybe eight parking spots altogether, but that would be my only complaint.

I had a, "Select Your Own" omelette with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and basil. I could barely…read moretaste the basil. Very disappointing in the lack of fresh basil. The bacon was delicious: thick, hot and crispy. The orange juice was very expensive and overpriced. The sunflower toast was barely buttered. The parking lot is very small and I didn't see any close street parking. There are steep stairs to the entrance. The entire place is very small. There was a child screaming and the wait staff wear whatever they wish. Overall, the food was delicious. But, one blueberry pancake cost $11.00 while two pancakes cost $20.00! My breakfast for one cost $39.00!!! I mean, really, $40.00 for breakfast for One Person! And, I had to wait 40 minutes, parking was a big problem and the wait staff looked sloppy and were rude. I don't think this restaurant is worth it.
