We walked inside and the staff told us we could sit wherever we wanted. Our waitress came over and was very nice and chatted with us for a bit. We told her we're passing through and our reason for being in Groveton. She gave two referrals for attorneys and that's just what we needed. I wish I could remember our waitress's name. As far as the food, everything was delicious. They give complimentary fried pork rinds that are made in house. We had two boats of them and got a bag to take home. My sister and I both ordered the fried catfish and fries. Great flavor and not greasy. I would recommend Davy Crockett Grill to anyone.

We decided on the patty melts with all the fix'ns but instead of rye bread good ole tx toast slathered in butter and side of some of the best freak'n onion rings I have ever had the pleasure NOT to put ketchup on. They were big, pretty sure vidalia onions probably dipped in buttermilk and dredged in some perfectly flavored flour then deep fried into these "golden circles" of delicious goodness. Then too end the meal we got some vanilla sheetcake with confetti icing. The cake was nice but the meal was perfect...so if your ever in the 50mile radius of Kinnard, TX I highly suggest making a stop.

Th menu has so many great options, so I went with the special, chicken fried chicken with white gravy, mashed potatoes, okra and toast. I am not a huge gravy person so got it on the side. The proportions were the perfect size, not too little and definitely not overwhelming. Everything was excellent and cooked to perfection. I had the sweet tea and it was wonderful as well. My co worker had the fish plate, she is a connoisseur of fish and said it was wonderful. The booths were a good size and customers are able to write with chalk paint pens to leave their mark. The environment was relaxing and fun at the same time. Although the space is smaller, the speed of service and the wonderful staff made it feel big. Will definitely return when I travel through Teague!
