Good food friendly service. We were passing through at breakfast time. Would have loved to have had the lunch buffet.

Mimsy's serves up some impressive barbecue in a fantastic setting. From the moment we walked in,…read morethe staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The venue itself is great, with a nicely decorated space that offers both inside and outside seating, along with a kids' play area--a huge plus for families. Now, on to the food. The brisket was a definite standout. It had a wonderful, rich flavor, and the salt and pepper (SP) bark was spot-on, providing a perfect crust. A nice, prominent smoke ring and a healthy amount of rendered fat made for a tender and juicy bite. The ribs were also solid. They had a great pull from the bone, but I noticed a slightly overpowering "hammy" flavor that detracted a bit from the classic barbecue taste I was hoping for. The house-made birria sausage was a fantastic surprise. It had a delicious mix of pork and beef, complemented by melted cheese and a good kick of chili. The casing had a satisfying snap, which I appreciate. For sides, the Maple Sprouts were exceptional. They were perfectly charred and crispy, with the maple flavor coming through beautifully without being too sweet. The jambalaya was also a strong contender. It was loaded with flavorful sausage bits, and the rice was cooked just right. After all that, we were happy to see they also offer some nice desserts to round out the meal. Overall, I had a great meal at Mimsy's. The brisket and unique house sausage are must-tries, and the Maple Sprouts are a delicious side that stands on its own. While the ribs were a little off for my personal taste, the rest of the meal and the friendly atmosphere more than made up for it. I'd definitely go back for more.

TL;DR: Mimsy's Craft Barbecue made my solo Friday road trip feel like a smoky sermon from the meat gods. The brisket? Juicy and proud. The ribs? Bold and tender. The sausage? Snapped like a firecracker in July. Potato salad with fried onion topping brought the crunch. And that banana pudding cheesecake? Sweet mercy. It deserved its own seatbelt on the ride home. Some folks ease into the weekend with a lawn chair and sweet tea. Not me. I hit the road with a cooler, a BBQ passport, and an appetite that don't mess around. Friday's mission: Mimsy's Craft Barbecue for lunch. Walked in to neon signage, wood-paneled comfort, and a menu that read like a love letter to Texas cuisine. I didn't hesitate. My order: * Brisket: Thick slices, perfect smoke ring, pulled apart with a gentle tug. Moist like a gospel hymn and seasoned like someone's grandma still works in the kitchen. * Ribs: Glazed just right, seasoned through the bone, and fell apart in my hand like a well-told secret. * Sausage: Thick, snappy, juicy. It bit back. I respected it. * Potato Salad: Creamy base topped with crispy fried onions. Whoever came up with that combo deserves a lifetime achievement award in side dish engineering. * Banana Pudding Cheesecake: Took it to-go for the Side Dish Queen. Got it home, opened the container, took one bite. We both stared at each other like we'd just witnessed a miracle. Smooth, rich, layered, and blessed with banana goodness. Got my 26th stamp on the passport and took a victory lap around the parking lot. Mimsy's didn't just meet expectations, it body-slammed them and then offered dessert. If you're on the Texas Monthly BBQ journey, don't you dare skip this stop. Worth every mile and every bite. I'll be back, probably for the Friday night ribeye... or just another slice of that cheesecake. Final Dad Line: That sausage snapped louder than a screen door in a Texas thunderstorm and I'm still dreaming about that cheesecake like it owes me money.

The store feels like walking into a family reunion with all the homemade goods that grandma brings and wine with relatives. Overall, the store felt warm. Cooper Farms had samples of their fruit wine, jams, and salsa out for those who were intrigued by the interesting flavors, like the peach salsa. My friend tried out the white peach wine and said the wine went down smoothly and had a delicious taste that could be dangerous if you are not counting how many glasses you are having. We ended up buying 3 bottles of wine ($22 but buy 2 or more get them for $20 each), a peach ice cream, and a peach milkshake for the road. Cooper Farms had stands of baked goods like pumpkin pie, pecan pie, peach cobbler, and so much more. The store opens up to multiple tables of snacks when you walk in and a jam/ salsa wall on your right. Food Review: Peach Ice Cream (5/5) I would recommend this to anyone who walks through the doors. I was expecting a sorbet peach but was surprised to taste cinnamon and a nutty flavor in my ice cream. The small portion was enough to keep me full for the rest of our roadtrip back to Houston. Peach Milkshake (5/5) The peach milkshake are for the drivers who can't active scoop and eat ice cream. The milkshake was just a blended version of the ice cream. It was a perfect to-go drink if you wanted to try their ice cream but need to focus on the road. Overall, I would love to come back here with family and have them try the ice cream. Next time, I would like to try out their baked goods. 10/10 would recommend!

Absolutely delicious ice cream for $4? I couldn't be happier. Also decided to grab some other goodies. They had so many soda options. I bought the peach mango salsa because they had some free samples and goodness was it tasty that I had to bring some home for myself! For $7.99 I think that's pretty reasonable. When picking out the fried pie, staff was really nice and helped me picked a pie and she recommended that I microwave the pie to make it a little warm, but it is ready to eat as is. She says she leaves it in her fridge and eats a piece day by day for up to a week! I like eating something a little sweet everyday so I'm going to take her up on that advice for sure cause I know I can't eat that whole pie in one sitting. Haven't tried the other stuff but I look forward to it. Might stop by here again on my Dallas to houston journeys !

If you're ever considering BBQ for an event, I would recommend this company a million times over. We reached out to Jeremiah and his team to cater a celebration of life, and words can't express how grateful we are for everything they did. From the very beginning, Jeremiah was kind, responsive, and so easy to work with. His team went above and beyond in every possible way -- not just with the amazing food, but with their care, professionalism, and attention to detail. They provided everything we needed for a full-service experience -- buffet equipment, beverages, plates, napkins, utensils, and even delicious desserts. They handled the entire setup and tear-down, which allowed us to be fully present with our family and friends without having to worry about a single thing. The food was absolutely delicious, but what stood out most was the warmth and compassion this team showed throughout the entire process. Jeremiah and his crew truly made a difficult day a little easier, and for that, we are so deeply thankful.

They warm up the table with this amazing cornbread & hot rolls Today I had the fried catfish with fries and coleslaw. It was deliciously light & flaky but so filling I only ate 1 filet. The coleslaw was the best I've ever had! Ever! And I don't normally eat/like hush puppies but I always try and thumbs up; different from what I've tried in years past. My husband had the chicken fried steak with okra & mashed potatoes which I got a 'it was good' response which really means... he ate all of it with no complaints. Lol very rare to get a 'fantastic' or 'delicious' outta him. There are no booths, which is my preferred dining experience but we're not here for the comfort! The table was a little wobbly but I didn't care, I love staring at the pie shelf while dining! Nicely country style decorum. Great food delivered quickly with a smile! prices are inline with the quality/quantity! Thank you! Happy New Year!
