It has been ages since I have been to Joseph's or as we used to say, Mr Joe's and let me tell you, they haven't changed, still great prices and great food. Since I was there for just a lite afternoon snack, I only had 2 plates. My first plate consisted of smothered ribs, dressing and mac and cheese. On my second plate, I couldn't resist the roast pork, candied yams and cabbage. I was ready to leave then overheard chocolate meringue pie mentioned nearby so I managed to squeeze in a slice. Restaurant could use a good cleaning! Breakfast - 2 stars, egg oe, hash browns, bacon and toast. Good except toast was grilled on the griddle, not toasted. Had a bacon sausage oil taste. Not good. Order a biscuit. Lunch buffet- 3 stars loved the sweet potatoes, fried chicken good, not greasy. Overall buffet is good. Will get this again Off the menu- 2 stars - ordered the pork chop dinner. Very bad, not a chop, it's a thinly sliced steak that is 1/8" thick, over salted to the point of gross. Fries and onion rings were good. Salad bar lettuce not fresh and had bits of rotting lettuce. My aunt ordered the chicken fried steak and liked it, it's tender but was too big for her so they should offer a small steak option. I probably will avoid this spot in the future. read more

Came through Trinity Texas looking for a local place to eat. We saw Joseph's with several cars in front and decide to try it out. Wide open, plenty of tables, ok customer service. Not sure about the hamburgers, as mentioned in previous reviews, but the buffet was just what I needed. Fried chicken, roast beef, stuffing, southern greens, spinach, potato salad, cranberries, cabbage and rolls. There were more choices, but that was all I could fit on my plate. The greens and cabbage were incredible, I had to go back for seconds just to make sure. After that I hit the dessert station for some rice pudding pie. My only complaint was that I had to get up for seconds because the plate was too small. Well worth the stop.... Time for a nap read more

My husband and I ate here at 10:30 on a Saturday morning. My husband had a breakfast burrito and toast with sausage gravy. I had the lunch buffet that they were just putting out, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, greens, butter beans.., and bread pudding for dessert! Try the Fat Burger, Two patties, ham steak, cheese, and an egg. Just once in a lifetime. Not really a fan of anything else on the menu.

This place was horrible! We're camping and tired of cooking in our camper so we came here for a change. The food was cold, waiter was smoking while hanging out waiting for us to finish-right there by where we were trying to eat! The bathroom was filthy and then to top it all off the food was lousy! Cold, tasteless, and seemed like it had been sitting out all afternoon. We tried the buffet and regular menu items. It was worse than school cafeteria food! Never never again!! read more

Service is not that great. Waitresses have bad attitudes and need to be "flagged down" most of the time to get refills. Food is a little over priced for the quality and the restaurant itself is in very poor condition. The decor doesn't match at all and the smoking room isn't properly vented so the cigarette smokes comes into the rest of the restaurant. read more

Their food is bad and their service is worse! I will never go back. I ordered a burger with fries. They brought the burger without the fries and told me it would be 10 to 15 minutes for the fries. The burger was over cooked and the bun was stale. The waitress was very rude. read more

I love the buffet in Joseph's. The cook is very experienced in seasoning the foods properly, and the large buffet has eye appeal. I have always found several things that I wanted to eat that day, and they were always prepared well. I have also eaten off the menu several times. As with any food service place, there are times when we haven't gotten great service, timely service or great food. But that has been extremely rare. I can truthfully say that the majority of the time, I have had awesome service and the food has been exceptional. I love Joe, the owner. I have eaten his food thru both moves that he has made, and I will continue to do so. read more

Absolutely the worst hamburger I have ever eaten, and I eat a lot of hamburgers. I have never tasted such bad meat, and it was grilled on the bottom of the bun, so that it was slimy. Cover it with shredded lettuce, and it slimed off the bun, when you try and pick it up. Tried to cut it in two, and really got into trouble. They used to have a good hamburger, but go somewhere else please, unless you can find some antacids quick to neutralize the grease and bad meat. thanks for listening, I do not lie. read more

Stopped for brk. Hash browns aweful. Place very dirty, husband used bathroom. Said worst he'd been. Told me not to use ladies. Service could have been better. People at other table had bad service. Won't be back. read more
