Mimsy's serves up some impressive barbecue in a fantastic setting. From the moment we walked in,…read morethe staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The venue itself is great, with a nicely decorated space that offers both inside and outside seating, along with a kids' play area--a huge plus for families. Now, on to the food. The brisket was a definite standout. It had a wonderful, rich flavor, and the salt and pepper (SP) bark was spot-on, providing a perfect crust. A nice, prominent smoke ring and a healthy amount of rendered fat made for a tender and juicy bite. The ribs were also solid. They had a great pull from the bone, but I noticed a slightly overpowering "hammy" flavor that detracted a bit from the classic barbecue taste I was hoping for. The house-made birria sausage was a fantastic surprise. It had a delicious mix of pork and beef, complemented by melted cheese and a good kick of chili. The casing had a satisfying snap, which I appreciate. For sides, the Maple Sprouts were exceptional. They were perfectly charred and crispy, with the maple flavor coming through beautifully without being too sweet. The jambalaya was also a strong contender. It was loaded with flavorful sausage bits, and the rice was cooked just right. After all that, we were happy to see they also offer some nice desserts to round out the meal. Overall, I had a great meal at Mimsy's. The brisket and unique house sausage are must-tries, and the Maple Sprouts are a delicious side that stands on its own. While the ribs were a little off for my personal taste, the rest of the meal and the friendly atmosphere more than made up for it. I'd definitely go back for more.

Place has a homey atmosphere that I appreciate, the folks working there were polite. I got two meat plate with sliced brisket, jalepeno sausage, mac and cheese, and cobbler. Everything was delicious, but the brisket was definitely the highlight. I'll absolutely be coming back.

If you're ever considering BBQ for an event, I would recommend this company a million times over. We reached out to Jeremiah and his team to cater a celebration of life, and words can't express how grateful we are for everything they did. From the very beginning, Jeremiah was kind, responsive, and so easy to work with. His team went above and beyond in every possible way -- not just with the amazing food, but with their care, professionalism, and attention to detail. They provided everything we needed for a full-service experience -- buffet equipment, beverages, plates, napkins, utensils, and even delicious desserts. They handled the entire setup and tear-down, which allowed us to be fully present with our family and friends without having to worry about a single thing. The food was absolutely delicious, but what stood out most was the warmth and compassion this team showed throughout the entire process. Jeremiah and his crew truly made a difficult day a little easier, and for that, we are so deeply thankful.

There isn't an extensive list on the menu that will have you scratching your head on what to order. This is a quaint spot that has eating staples from salad to fried stuff. The good: The staff here is very friendly and very welcoming. The bad: I'm not a true fan of the price to portion ratio. Food pricing is increasing at a rapid rate, I truly understand that. I was not expecting a Flintstones moment where my vehicle would receive the food, which in turn, would make my vehicle flip on its side. I have to be honest...they serve you on a traditional compartment plate. I'm not even certain that two scoops of a side can fit in those compartments. I truly do not feel as though you receive enough food for the money. The ugly: You will not be taken to flavor town eating here. Do not get me wrong, they do put spices on their meats, but the meat wasn't flavored. My New Orleans' tongue did not have an awakening of any sorts eating here. Was the food palletable? Very much so. That's where it ends FOR ME. I didn't taste anything that knocked my socks off. I had a clue it would be that way when they asked what spice level boudin I wanted. Once again, spices for taste versus seasoning for the wow factor. All in all, boudin was decent. Okra was fried decent but didn't have flavor. Ribs were tender and the best meat. The sliced brisket was well done, but without a flavor pop. The baked beans were really done well. The coleslaw was tasty as well. The turtle slice of pie, with whipped cream, was a nice dessert, but too small of a portion. Would I eat here again? Yes I would now that I know what to expect.
