I was the one that had to make contact first to find out what was happening because he didn't. We ended up starting our session @ 6:35pm - in which HE let us know that this will be our new start time (because he was late) & we will end @ 9:35pm. Keep in mind that it was super hot BECAUSE HE WAS LATE TO SET EVRYTHING UP!!!! He also had the nerve to ask my husband "is this for a birthday?" in which my husband said "yeah it is." Then the guy asked "do you guys have confetti?" My husband laughed it off and said "no we do not." & the guy responds, "okay good." Our group extended another hour before our time was up. He tells us "your end time is 10:30pm" cutting us 5 minutes. We didnt think anything of it. Whats 5 minutes... thats nothing major. We then did another 1 hour extension, which you'd think 1 hour from 10:30 is 11:30... he then told my sister (who extended) that our end time is 11:15!! He told her "it's because I gave your group 15 minutes to set up before you started." She didn't say anything about it, but came back in the room & told me that. I went outside to ask for clarification because it did NOT make sense that we are PAYING for the time we are using their system & they allowed us the 15 minute set up time prior to our session starting! When I asked about it, he told me "it's because I gave you 15 minutes before to set up." I then asked "okay, so just to clarify... with us setting up, 15 minutes before the karaoke session, that cut us 15 minutes of karaoke? Is set up time included in the karaoke session & what we are paying for?" He tells me "no it's not included you can set up before you start. But since let you guys set up 15 minutes before thats why your thats your end time." So i reiterate -- "So because we set up 15 minutes before, we are cut 15 minutes from our Karaoke session? But you just told me that the set up time is not included. And you also told us before that our end time is 9:35, then changed to 10:30 & now it's 11:15?! That does not make sense when we are paying." He responds with, "thats okay. You guys can just have the 15 minutes." So of course I respond with "we will because it's what we PAID for." We then decided to extend 1 more hour. At this point, you can already tell that the guy is even MORE irritated. I asked what our end time was, he says "12:30pm." So i told him "okay thank you! This is our last hour." 12:15 hits and we are still singing, but also starting to wrap things up by gathering & putting away whatever we had out. 12:24am hits -- the door opens. It's the guy with a trash can & the broom. We are still singing because we have till 12:30am to end our session. He leaves the door open & tells us "your session is up." One of my sisters said "it's not 12:30 yet." he walks away. He comes back at 12:26am & says it again, "your session is up." My sister continues to sing. I told her to stop & let's get out of here because of the shitty service they've been providing. As soon as we all walk out, he locks the door, shuts everything off & turns off the "open" sign. We were the last ones there. Their hours of operation literally state 5pm-2am. & you are allowed to extend as long as there's no reservations after you! WHICH THERE WERE NONE! You'd think they'd be happy to get money & service on a Thursday night when they are slow. But this guy was a total dick who tried to cut time off of our session that we are paying for, because he wanted to close up & leave!!

Happy Sunday and it's Father's Day 2024, where to eat when SouthWest Airlines drops us off for 3…read morehours on Maui from Kona? I did a search on Instagram and came across this business Ohana Karaoke Cafe & Grill, for Korean foods. This is all for my other half since he is a meat Jun Snob, he loves his meat jun so I decided to check out this business for our 2nd lunch. Nice idea, Karaoke and Korean foods, great combination! There are tables for dining and about 3 Karaoke rooms ( small, medium, & large) Connie (owner) greeted us and took our order. She was super friendly, usually at the restaurants here on Koreamouku, I have to be extra nice so they can be more friendlier. *note, no complimentary water here at all, you can bring your own or purchase the water here. Our orders were the meat jun and fish jun combo ($19.) and it has been a long time since I last had my Korean noods, got the ramen noodles with dumplings ( $10.) Big portions, everything was enough for 2 even came home with leftover jun. So the verdict and I ask the other half, so Mr. Meat Jun Snob what is the ratings, he said "7/10 and the fish jun makes up for it". hehe. Even though I can fancy up my Korean ramen better with the fixings, the noods was a great fix, There were 5 ban chan, zuchini and broccoli was too salty but enjoyed kim chee and sprouts. It was nice enjoying Korean foods on Maui! The other half thanked me and I am glad he was happy with his meat jun fixed. If we are back on Maui for longer than 3 hours, we would def. be back again! The prices for portion size and quality is reasonable! Support this wonderful local business!

The yukgaejang was tasty, had a good amount of vegetables and meat and just a good amount of spice. The mandoo was good although I wish they were a bit larger with a thicker wrapping. They also give an assortment of ban chan such as kimchee, brocolli, and fish cake. I prefer my kimchee fresh but many prefer them on the fermented side which it was. The prices are on the high side but that's expected for most korean restaurants nowadays. Looking forward to coming here back again and trying other main dishes like their Kalbi and Spicy Pork.

It's a little dark inside, so if you're old like me, make sure you have your phone for EXTRA light. If you're going during a busy time, be sure to make reservations. This place gets packed!!!! Quick Kine Pickle Cucumber - nice refreshing appetizer. Personally I would have liked a little more pickling Spicy Eggplant - this was the winner of the night for me. Great chile crunch and fried garlic sauce to make the eggplant incredibly delicious!!! Panko Mahi - standard breaded mahi, nothing special for me to want more of this. It was also a little dry in my opinion. Fatt Chow Fun - Super FAT. I'm not used to this but it did the job. The noodles were 1/8" thick, rectangular cut 1"x2" pieces. I would have liked the meat to match the heft of the noodles. Cheeseburger Saimin - I didn't taste either but the kids whacked 'em. I'm guessing it was good! Kalbi - this hit the spot! The ribs were a good thick cut. The marinade was a tad salty but the rice totally balanced it out. Churro Mochi Munchkins - this reminded me of mix between andagi and poi donuts. Super good, the cream cheese dip was delicious with the donuts. Sweet Corn Mousse - corn mousse over taro paste on cookie crust. I wanted more corn flavor and a nice sour cream/corn drizzle would have made it really good for me. There's expanded parking across the street in a dirt lot.

Guava Tree Bar & Grill had amazing local-style food at reasonable prices and pleasant service. I can see this place becoming a solid, local establishment like Tiffanyʻs or Marcoʻs. Folks, this place should be party of the ʻServing Maui for 30 yearsʻ club! I was here for a private event. The place is cute. Small, charming and loads of potential. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Alrhough their wine selection was limited and a bit uneven (Sutter Home but then a J. Lohr for chardonnay), their ginger ale selection was delicious! The food was incredible! Tender, fall apart pork slices, covered with savory, brown gravy; crisp, yet juicy, chicken katsu with a bite of ginger; toothsome chopped steak, tender mushrooms and flavorful pepper slices. Perfectly cooked rice. Yummmmmmm. The mac salad is better than many, but lacked a little tang. Overall, the food was so good that I looked up their hours. Iʻd definitely return.
