Our meal was both good and ok. My Eggs Benedict Florentine had way too much spinach, but it tasted fresh which was nice. Nicely poached eggs. My husband's quiche had too much crust to filling ratio. But the quiche part was delicious. One disappointment was the Pain Perdue. We remembered this fondly. French toast stuffed with a sweet orange(?) cream cheese. The version now is very different, it's almost like two pieces of bread with some filling, then gloppy berries on top. The restaurant is very pleasant and lots of cute French detailing. Took a party of 8 to Mimi's for my wife's birthday lunch. We've had good memories and experiences here in the past, which is what makes this so disappointing. This was a tragic experience from start to finish. They sat us at a table for 8 and only 5 of the seats had silverware. We were never offered any additional silverware and had to take it off of other tables ourselves. It started with my daughter getting a Shirley Temple and there were fruit flies in it. Looked like they were in the soda fountain. That made us all apprehensive and we started checking our drinks. The soups came out and my corn chowder lacked any seasoning and was lukewarm at best. Then the entrees arrived. My daughter and I had ordered hamburgers and both patties were cold to the touch. These tasted like pre-made patties that were never cooked through, not a real medium rare burger. My youngest ordered the stuffed French toast and her eggs were cold. I could understand if the restaurant was busy. It wasn't. There were literally a handful of patrons in the whole place. We paid full price, over $230, on a lackluster meal and poor experience for my wife's birthday. read more

Came here with my book club and they did an excellent job accommodating a big group. They have an extensive menu with breakfast options all day. I got the 3 sandwich deal for 17.99 which gets you half portions of sandwiches, salads, and soups. I picked the grilled cheese, corn chowder, and fries. Corn Chowder- Creamy and flavorful. It's a rich and comforting soup. The cup was the perfect portioning for me because I got to try it without filling up too soon. Grilled Cheese and Fries- Thick fluffy bread with a generous amount of butter. The cheese is rich, gooey, and at the ideal melty temperature. Fries were served hot and crisp. Always been a fan of this French inspired restaurant. I love everything about it, especially their Buttermilk Spice Muffins! There is patio seating by the street enclosed with a low stone wall. My favorite spot to come to when I need a comfort meal. Everything is delicious from the breakfast menu to dinner.. and breakfast is all day! The muffins are so fresh and a great size! I was craving some diner-style food, and decided to check this place out with a friend. It was our first time here, so we didn't really know what to expect other than diner vibes. We went for dinner on a weekday so it was pretty empty, but they did have pretty good specials going on! I got one of their fruity margaritas (surprised they had alcohol here), and the pot roast with a side of corn soup. The restaurant itself felt very Olive Garden-like, but with a slightly darker aesthetic. Food and drink wise, it was pretty good! My friend and I were surprised the whole time at how tasty the food was. It was pretty reasonably priced, and the portions were really large. I wish I remembered our server's name, but he was amazing! Always checked in on us every 10ish minutes, and made sure we were doing well. Made a 12:30 pm reservation for Mother's Day Brunch and when we arrived they said that OpenTable didn't cap the reservations. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table which wasn't bad and people with reservations were seated first but we heard that earlier in the morning the wait for tables was much worse even with a reservation. The place definitely didn't seem organized and could use a better system for balancing reservations and walk-ins. After we were seated no server came to us until we asked. After ordering, the food came out in a reasonable time frame. The food was tasty - the Pain Perdu with Mixed Berries and Breakfast Burrito were great. Portions seemed smaller than expected but was still a good amount. Overall, don't recommend on a crowded day and the reservations are a loose term, with potentially inefficient service, but food is solid brunch food with a nice family vibe! read more

Been coming here for years. Corn chowder is always the best here, however, their muffins are going downhill, bought a pack of 4 butter milk spice, I was told that they bake them daily. I had one for breakfast today and it was so so dry, and so dense, not fluffy like it used to be. Will not buy it again! Please change your recipe or make sure they're baked fresh daily. I had the meatloaf and a cup of corn chowder which was very good. I'd order that again. My bf had the pot roast. It must've been good. There was nothing left on his plate. Yesterday (Friday 25th) my friend and I decided to have lunch at Mimi's fountain valley to catch up after not seeing each other. We were seated the second booth window side in the large dining area as you enter. Our food arrived and as we started to eat I was facing my friend and saw a black insect about just over an inch long scamper across her left shoulder heading towards her head. I grabbed a napkin and squished it before it got into her hair completely leaving her shocked as I didn't have time to explain. A couple of minutes later she scooted out of the booth flicking 3 other such insects off of her left leg. I took a napkin to check her seat where they landed and fell to the floor. I looked under the table to see if there were more or where they were coming from and was appalled how dirty the area was beneath the table including a couple of used forks. Our waitress wasn't available and I located the person in the bar area explaining as she followed me back to the table stating, " oh yes someone mentioned mentioned seeing some yesterday and there's a small gap near the window but they haven't come to spray." She then moved us to the first booth with all of our food items. My friend was still shaking at every movement. Then came the unexpected, the top of the table was cleaned on top and prepared for another diner. The seat wasn't wiped off, nothing was examined under the table and almost immediately another couple was seated at this infected table. I was watching and shocked as the whole room was available with tables and booths, only 3 tables were occupied, why would you seat these people at that infected and also dirty booth. This was the same person that moved us to the next table. If you are aware that insects are penetrating a specific booth and know where they are coming in why not do something to temporarily close the gap with a tissue or anything until it can be done correctly????? Why keep seating folks there when there were probably over 30 other options???? At this point we paid and left disgusted. My regret is that we should have left immediately before being moved as there were items of our food we couldn't eat but that's another issue. Our lunch together turned into a disaster that could have been avoided. Very sad and disappointing, never again and no response from guestrelations. read more

It was my first time visiting Mimi's for an early dinner by myself. It's a pretty chill spot with an awesome atmosphere even though it wasn't that crowded.. My server Pablo was very welcoming. From the moment of taking my drink order, I knew that he was a true professional. Since it was my first time visiting Mimi's, I asked to serve Pablo for a suggestion on what go for dinner. Our go to place for yummy crème brûlée! We had dinner elsewhere that day but we were craving yummy dessert from Mimi's. I had their bread pudding which was HUGE and so tasty! It was a new menu item so I just had to try it and glad I did. The whipped cream was the perfect topping to it. Hubby had the crème brûlée and he savored every tasty bit and he enjoyed with a Vanilla Latte. The service was always attentive and with a smile. The reason for why I'm giving it this rating is because me and my partner felt like this locations environment was not it. My daughters and granddaughter and I went to Mimi's about noon on a Sunday. The place is not overcrowded, and looks nice and clean. Our server was attentive and friendly. We ordered mimosas, and I ordered blackberry. It was so delicious. Loved it. I had the French onion soup that I love, and it sure didn't disappoint! Blueberry muffin was to die for. Been going to Mimi's for years. The staff is phenomenal. Always enjoyed the warmth and friendly atmosphere.

We come here for the eggs Benedict but have remained loyal because of our server/bartender William! He Always adds a personal touch to our visit! The food remains tastefully the same the portions have shrunk but our Guy William remains a pleasant addiction to breakfast! The menu has added new items, none I have added to my breakfast selection. Just note: the potatoes are to die for, extra Benedict sauce, extra on the side for my potatoes is delicious! I've fallen for several of the Muffins but my current diet does not allow this indulgence (bran and buttermilk)! I do so love breakfast and sitting at the bar or outdoor on the patio it is William and his personal touch that keeps us coming back! Until next time! read more
