HANDS DOWN THE BEST TIRAMISU I WILL EVER HAVE IN THIS LIFETIME. This place was so good we came back for seconds on our last night. The carbonara was delicious- my boyfriend enjoyed! I also ordered bruschetta and the meatballs my first time and these were my fave meatballs on the trip. They have two locations- we went to the Trastevere one. The line moves quickly--especially if you have a small party. This is a must stop when you come to Rome!
We went for lunch!! I got the salad because I wanted something other than pasta and was saving room for dinner. It was okay nothing special! I wish it came with chicken. We all shared the pizzas. The cacio e Pepe was our favorite. My sister got the ravioli and it was really good. My other sister got the spaghetti it was okay. We sat outside which I liked. The service could have been better.
It may look like just another osteria ristorante but what separates them from other places nearby is the service. Staff is very attentive and they will try to accommodate your request even if it's something unusual. Food was amazing and you have to try the warm focaccia bread! My wife and I had to come back a second time just before we left Roma.
It is in a perfect location for dinner on Via de Governo Vecchio since the place is lively with many stores, bars and restaurants. The food is delectable. I had heard it was the best lasagne in Italy but I was still amazed. Pricing is so reasonable for immense treat! The service was also amazing. Our server, Jackie, was on her second day working there. We would not have known if Gracie the front house manager hadn't mentioned it. They were both great and made us feel like we were home. Can't forget to give a shoutout to Daniel, the bartender. I still think of the lasagne!
I thought it a touch overrated especially after waiting for 45-50 minutes for a single diner. I do appreciate that everything was hot -- piping hot. I tried the eggplant parm and it was good, just needed a tad more flavor. Unfortunately my focaccia was very hard/crunchy probably the crispiest focaccia I've ever eaten. That wasn't to my liking. Small and snug inside but cute photos of the history of the establishment. Service was pleasant. This restaurant was recommended and I'd try their other location or something else on the menu, but I wouldn't go out of the way to return. I did walk 30 minutes to get to it so by the time I was seated, I would've been impressed by anything as I was very hungry. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
My husband's experience was a 5, mine was a 3, so I averaged them out (which is also fair given the cool ambiance of the restaurant). It's a little tourist-trap-y, but the service was outstanding and we liked the menu choices. My husband got the bucatini and loved it, whereas my carbonara wasn't great. Overall, though, a decent spot- albeit not one I'd feel obliged to return to.
We visited Mimi e Coco and were not too surprised there was a wait even around 2pm, which shouldn't be a busy time. It's just that popular! The restaurant is quite small with barely any room to walk around, but they were very accommodating to us with our stroller. The staff found us a corner spot where we could park it without blocking other diners. The kids love their pizza - the thin crust was a hit! The food was worth the wait - authentic Italian flavors that weren't touristy at all. I had the pasta carbonara which was perfectly creamy without being heavy. We did splurge a little and ended up ordering more food than we can eat. Prices were reasonable considering the quality and location. I can see why the lines get long. Definitely recommend!
Excellent first meal in Rome! The quintessential dishes ranging from spaghetti alla carbonara and tonnarelli cacio e pepe were decadent but not too salty and were cooked perfectly a la dente. The mum's meatballs with roasted potatoes were not bad; the potatoes specifically had a great texture/flavor (it just goes to show you how a little bit of nice olive oil and rosemary can go a long way!). As for the restaurant, it definitely felt like a tourist trap catered to English speakers with upbeat pop music like Abba playing in the background and the prices seemed a tad high but the food and overall aesthetics made up for it! Not going to lie though but the staircase to the bathroom was a little narrow/dark and the bathroom was definitely a squeeze. Overall, I enjoyed visiting this cute, casual bistro with a relaxed atmosphere and squibbling notes on their quirky walls!
I really enjoyed my experience at this location. We sat outside on the patio and it was very relaxing. I got a hugo spritz and it was delicious. Our table got a pizza and a pasta. Both were really amazing and came out pretty fast even though we were there for lunch. As americans, we tried to speak some italian and the servers were nice and helpful with the translations.
We were staying near Mimi e Coco on our recent trip to Rome and heard great things so we secured a dinner reservation. It was great! They have a pretty impressive menu with lots of options. Their pastas are really good! The service was great and the decor was very cute. There seemed to be a line here every night, so make a reservation if you can! It felt a hair on the touristy side compared to other places we visited on our trip, but it was still worth the stop. Definitely check it out!
We loved it. No better way to start our first meal in Rome but at Mimi e Coco. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer, carbonara, and lasagna. I realized how badly I was missing out on fresh authentic Italian pasta when I had my first bite here--it was amazing. The pasta and lasagna were cooked perfectly and the lasagna was probably some of the best I've had. The bruschetta was mid, but we came for the pasta. The place is very small and intimate. We were seated close to the people next to us. So much so, they confused our order with theirs. We got their drink orders and their focaccia appetizer. For the record, we thought that the focaccia was a pre meal bread basket and their drinks were similar to ours. It wasn't until our neighbors made a comment that we got the same order as them that we realized we were getting their order. We notified the staff and all was fixed. They didn't charge us for their mistake, which was appreciated. Overall, I'd say, come and get some amazing pasta. Be prepared to wait in line outside if it's busy bc they do not take reservations. And be ready to make friends with your table neighbors as you will be sitting extremely close to them.

Loved this place! Some of the freshest tomatoes I've ever had. Caprese salad is a must! Any of their tomato based sauces are amazing as well. The aperol spritz was also incredible! Must go if you're in Rome. read more
We waited about 45 mins to get a table. The restaurant was cute but cramped. For our appetizer we got Focaccia and for our main course we shared spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs. I thought the food was pretty average compared to other restaurants in the area - nothing special waiting 45 mins in line for. I also thought the restaurant was a little pricier than other restaurants in the area. read more

!SO FIRE! We came to for aperitivo and were grateful to be seated right away. We each tried a different spritz, passion fruit was the best and so so infinitely refreshing. We really wanted the accompanying snack and were pretty nervous when it was not brought out at first, so when it was finally placed at our table it was even more exciting! Honestly everything on that plate was yom. Not your typical plain old Roma snack plate. And upon receiving the bill we got free limoncello shots! Who could ever turn that down. The vibes were eclectic and electric. Felt like we got bang for our buck. Only negative comment is that we were all sweating the whole time(we are glistening from sweat in all our cute photos), but no doubt we would come again. The past year I've been on a mission to find the best pasta pomodoro in the world. Up until today, it was La Pecora Bianca in New York, but I knew there had to be better out there, since the food in the United States is nothing compared to Italy. Today I found it. I found the best pasta pomodoro in the world, and it is at Mimi E Coco. I've never had a pasta/sauce so flavorful and so texturally wonderful in my life until now. With the wait staff being so kind as well, I can easily say there is no better restaurant in the world than here. I rarely EVER write yelp reviews unless I am blown away. I'd like to start this review by saying how incredibly delicious all of the items i had here were, after traveling most of Italy i have to say that HANDS down this place has the best lasagna I've ever had, the proportions were immaculate! So well seasoned and cooked it was actual perfection. The carbonara was just as delectable BUT the lasagna was the star of the show... the service here was great as someone who speaks little to no Italian it was not hard at all to communicate my needs with the staff. The overall vibe of this place is amazing you can sit inside or outside and both are great it's in such a good location and has just the best interior as well! I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area! read more

We found this gem our first night in Rome and are so glad we did. The carbonara was the best I've had in my entire life and possibly the best pasta I've ever had. All 3 of us enjoyed our dishes so much, that we had to go back again our last night! Make sure to try the focaccia as well, it was excellent. The staff was so nice and spoke great English, which made ordering easy for us. They treated us to a shot of limoncello our first night and a different aperitif our second night. If I ever get back to Rome, this will definitely be my first stop. read more

When I think of the authentic Italian experience, I think of Mimi e Coco. My friend and I spent four days in Rome and ate three meals here because the food was delicious, the staff was incredibly charming, and the atmosphere was heavenly. Being a smaller place, expect to wait a bit. Wear comfortable shoes, layered clothes, and remember to stay behind the marked line so you don't impede on other guests' experiences. It is well worth the wait! read more

We had to see what the hype was all about and we were glad we did! Antonio and staff took wonderful care of us, seating us quickly and pouring beautiful and delicious drinks for our party of five. The place is well decorated and cheery. We loved the unexpected fun music and extras (including lemoncello shots, candy and a snack plate)! When in Roma again, we will make a beeline for Mimi e Coco! read more

Mimì & Cocò was a great first meal for our honeymoon. After flight delays we got into Rome well into even Italian dinner time. With it being a bit on the later side we did not have to wait for a table such was a plus. The outdoor seating was perfect for a fall evening. The heaters create a cozy outdoor dining experience and there were even small throw blankets. We ordered a pair of cocktails, lasagna, & cacio e pepe. Everything came quickly and was perfect in every way possible. We also ordered tiramisu for dessert. This was my first time trying it and just wow! It was insanely delicious. From start to finish we had a great time. Amazing food, staff, and environment! read more

Salad: for 15 euros it was unacceptably basic. A bowl of lettuce, some corn and motz should not be that much. Lettuce wasn't even that good a quality. Meat, cheese, snack plate: if you are going to charge 24 euros for a snack plate, it should be heaped with stuff. The heap in this case, as advertised in pictures, was deceptively a pile of lettuce. So looking at the pictures you think you are getting a reasonable portion of what you ordered, but really half of it is cheap salad. Take a look at the picture. Bread with snack plate: for an extra 7 euro, you can purchase your very own basket of over fried, unsatisfying mouth feel, bland bread that is so salty you have to wipe it off to eat and even then you end up with flakes of cheap napkin on the bread. read more

Literally Instagram and OOO (out of office app) made me do it! I was looking everywhere for places to go eat and enjoy the beauty of Rome and its food without all the tourist. This place did not fail me, I am a true millennial, I LOVE AMBIENCE & AESTHIC... Mimi e coco trast has it all, plus amazing food that transcends you into the true north of Rome cuisines. We had the best cacio e pepe in the entire city, meatballs which were out of this world, and lasagna. I highly recommend the Mimi E Coco Spritz, especially if you like your spritz on the sweeter side. Everyone there was beyond amazing in their service, especially Michelle. She was kind and attentive to our every need and she even managed to get a conversation with me as we came during the busiest time of the day. I highly recommend this place and hope that you make the choice to visit this restaurant for dinner. read more

This food was worth the hype!!! I searched on tik tok for the best places to eat in time and this appeared on many accounts. We passed by around 6 PM and there was no line. When we returned after apertivo around 8 PM, we waited about 30 minutes for two people. THEY DO NOT DO RESERVATIONS! The line wasn't bad as there was a lot of stuff too look at and the sweet hostess walked around w fresh focaccia! Once seated, the ambience was amazing. The restaurant inside is cozy and intimate, playing an amazing playlist of modern music. We ordered the piane with pesto, mortadella and pistachio! 10000/10! I don't even eat red meat, but for this I sacrificed. This was the best pesto I've had in my entire life. It was perfectly salty and had an olive underbite. We ordered three meatballs just by themselves which were amazing, but the sauce they came in was PERFECTION. Finally, we got the lasagna (DUH) and it was perfect. Nothing bad to be said here. We finished with a complimentary shot and got our bill. 40€ for 2 people at such a nice restaurant is insane! Love this place ! read more

Found this place based on reviews in summer while visiting Italy and the food is INCREDIBLE!! You can't book a table as there is always a line to wait but very much worth it! I recommend getting there before 7pm because afterwards the line is longer. The lasagna was the best we had in all of Italy we literally ate here two nights in a row! The staff were great to us giving us a shot of delicious limoncello our second night! And the food was so fresh and seasoned to perfection. I tried a carbonara as well which wasn't the best but was still delicious. Wine is reasonably priced for a bottle as well as the drinks and food. The atmosphere was good and I would recommend this place as well as I would return if ever in Rome! read more

By far the best pizza and lasagne my sister and I have had in Italy and just in general. The drinks are strong and delicious and you definitely get what you pay for. Antonio is the ray of sunshine and Valentina is awesome behind the bar making drinks, watching her make drinks was so fun to watch. She has a mean pour! The last time we were in Rome we wanted to come here; but, it did not work out. Such a shame - this place was awesome. We happened in at the right time. This is a small, intimate bar/restaurant with very few tables inside. They do offer limited seating outside. They don't take reservations, so I am really glad we went around 6:30 PM as the restaurant filled up quickly. Our server, Roberta, was at the top of her game - she was so upbeat, friendly and attentive. She only enhanced our dining experience. Alex, the bartender, also was very helpful in selecting the wines. I enjoyed a glass of Pinot Grigio and my husband had two glasses of Sangiovese and a glass of Amarone - all smooth and delicious. We started with a crostini with potatoes, Brie and tomatoes. We were not quite sure what we ordered. This dish was enormous - it was like a huge casserole with potatoes, Brie and tomatoes. It was so different and very filling. I had to have another spaghetti carbonara and my husband savored his veal stew with potatoes. Everything was so pleasing to the eye and tasted so good. Our total bill for 4 glasses of wine, crostini, pasta, veal stew and 2 waters was € 64. This is great restaurant whether you are just having drinks or dining. Don't miss it. Only great things to say about this place. Upon arriving we were a little nervous about how long the wait would be, considering how small the restaurant was, but they seated the 4 of us within 30 minutes and had snacks brought outside while we waited. We started with the giant cheese and meat board - so good and HUGE!! Was good for the 4 of us, but we were struggling to finish our meals after (was worth it). I opted for the ravioli which was nothing short of amazing, the ricotta tasted super fresh :) We went with a bottle of merlot for the table as well. When leaving we had told the server it was our last night and they gave us some free shots before departing, so sweet. Our server really made the meal fun, I believe her name was Karina! read more

Great food but terrible service. Came at 2:15pm on a Sunday and the place was relatively busy. I was seated right away and given a menu. Despite waiting 15 minutes, no one came to take my order, despite me looking at the waiter that sat me, closing my menu, etc. No one ever once paused while they were constantly walking past my table, so I finally told the waiter that I wanted to order. I asked for a sparkling water at the time of my order, and it didn't come until I asked for it 10 minutes later. Keep in mind that during this time, I just see the guy standing around, looking outside, etc (he wasn't busy attending to the guests). I asked for the check and again, it never came and I had to ask someone else 10 minutes later. Again, the guy was just standing around and walking past me, ignoring me, etc. Maybe he gave me worse service because I am obviously a tourist, but don't go into a business in an area/city where you'll see lots of tourists if you're just going to be a rude jerk! Ugh. The mushroom risotto I had was good, but there are plenty of other great restaurants in Rome (even just a few steps away from that one). I'd skip it. read more
