Beautiful cafe! Power outlets throughout the cafe. Delicious food and drinks. All drinks can be decaf! The barista was very nice. They changed shifts at 7? The guy working was super nice on a Sunday evening. Perfect place to study or get some work done. The best part is they open late until 10 or midnight sometimes.

Aesthetically this place is beautiful. Gorgeous place to study or get some work done. It was quite dirty with a lot of flies swarming around which is why I had to dock some stars. But given only one employee present I can see how it would be tough to maintain cleanliness. The bathroom was horrid. The pistachio latte was very good. Would give it a 8/10 for sure. If sweet drinks are your thing you will enjoy it. As for the honeycomb / pastry It wasn't for me. But to each their own.

Beautiful cafe in Berkeley. Spacious, bright and welcoming environment with a unique selection of yummy drinks and delicious savory and sweet treats. I tried Adeni Chai and Dubai cheesecake. Both were tasty and not overly sweet. Lady at counter was friendly and accommodating. Will be back when visiting Berkeley again.

Ok wow that might have been the best baklava I've ever had (it was twice as big, photo taken post-bite), so fkin juicy!!!! But not soggy, so crisp. Pistachio latte was chill, didn't taste so different from a regular latte which was disappointing after trying the baklava. Ambiance was super nice.

I came by to try them on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the rose latte, iced, 16oz, and pistachio latte, iced, 16oz. It was $7.75 for each of these drinks, no price difference for hot vs. iced. The cafe is pretty large inside with beautiful gold accents and a variety of seating options. It took over 10 mins for drinks, this might've been due to both some people having ordered ahead of me and also could possibly indicate the process of making the drinks took some time. I found the rose flavor comes through better and it gave the rose latte a really nice floral tint. But for the pistachio latte, I couldn't really taste the latte over the coffee, as someone who's very sensitive to the taste of coffee, so I preferred the rose latte over the pistachio.

What is going on with this explosion of Yemeni cafes in the bay? I mean I won't complain - I love milk cakes, large pots of caffeine, and non alcoholic spots open late-ish. If you've been to another Yemeni cafe, Milyar is pretty similar, but the decor/color scheme feels more fancy, and the space is huge. It does feel a bit cold and less cozy than other Yemeni cafes, but maybe that was just because it was pretty empty when I visited a year ago? Or maybe that's just how I was feeling.

This place was pretty cute! I got the saffron iced latte and it was alright. I'm sure other things on the menu taste better, but that drink really wasn't it. They do get high stars for the ambiance. The place is decorated beautifully. Very comfy seating. Outlets everywhere. Was a good place to study.

OK this place wasn't on the agenda this Saturday morning. After visiting Sweet Adeline, which by the way has the most delicious pastries, I decided to check out this coffee stop on the corner of Adeline that I saw. The inside decor is phenomenal. It has furniture that one would have at their home. Very pretty, very modern and giving the feel that this place just opened up. The drink options are various -I got a Cortado. I will say I liked that the person asked me what level of sweetness I wanted with my Cortado because I'm never usually asked and typically have to add my own couple packs of raw sugar. The barista served the best Cortado I've had outside of Spain. It was delicious, frothy, and with the right amount of sweetness. Definitely looking forward to patronizing this place again.

Finding parking near the cafe is a little difficult, but manageable with the street parking. The cafe overall has a nice modern aesthetic! I ordered a rose latte with the barista, and you can tell that they really put care into every drink that they're serving out. The rose latte itself was beautiful, and had the right amount of sweetness to coffee ratio--the milk balance was just right as well. Overall great place to study with nice drinks!

The Good: Spacious, lovely decor, ambient music, comfortable seating, WiFi, varied assortment of Middle Eastern baked goods, pastries, and coffee. The Yemeni latte was very good. Nice mix of spices and strong coffee to jumpstart your day. The Bad: I had to go back up to the counter twice: the first time because they gave me the wrong bread (should be some way to distinguish between the potato and olive breads) and the second time because the bread was cold inside. Maybe I just caught them on their lunch break, because I remember seeing two persons (one busing tables and one behind the register), and then there was one. Not opposed to stopping by again, but I'll probably just stick with the coffee.

Then again, vibe is probably 99% of the reason people would come here for afternoon tea, haha. The cups, sugar cubes, utensils are all HK based which is a cute touch. Afternoon tea takes place is a private room, which is also a nice escape from the busy mall. In terms of food, it is a miss for me. Everything was way too sweet and the taste was not very good. The quantity of food is actually pretty big (I'd skip lunch if you're interested) and we ended up taking a lot of it home. There was one strawberry tart that was pretty delicious, but that is about it. In terms of service, I'd describe it was poor. The cashier was not super friendly directing us to the check in spot and orders would take awhile. To the point where we had to ask multiple times for the same thing despite only a small number of customers being there at the time. I also tried asking some questions on their online portal but received no response. The experience was cute and all, but considering the price, the service, and the food, I would not recommend it.

Parking nearby is horrendous, super busy even on the weekdays before the rush hour so I can't imagine weekends when people are out or other high traffic times. Get ready to make some rounds and pay for parking and be careful since there's very specific signage and times. The cafe itself is cute and cozy. Front area is a gift shop with lots of cat themed gifts and goodies like keychains, stickers, and such, and also some items from local and small artists too, which is neat. The cafe also has community events like movie showings ("The Cat Returns" was one of them which is a great choice) and cat yoga. If you're local, you can also get a time stamp if you are a frequent visitor. Definitely follow their socials for more information. There's reservations online and you can also do walk ins if it's not super busy. You can book for a 55 minute visit or a 30 minute visit. PRO-TIP: There's a discount for students, so if you want to be surrounded by some feline friends while you study or relax, great place to do so. You can hang your coat on the rack and there's a mini shelf area for your shoes. So you gotta walk in with socks! With each visit you can either get a hot cup of tea or a cold can or box drink from their fridge (sparking water, juices, etc.). Very refreshing and you can enjoy it in the cat area too. Sanitize your hands before and after visiting. There's lots of cats hiding around, sleeping, walking around, and some are super friendly and will go into your lap. There's toys you can play with the cats with and there's a wall of adoptable cats. Lots of seats or you can opt to sit on the floor with the cats too. There's relaxing lo-fi music throughout too. Pretty cool that they rescued 2 cats from Qatar and neat that we got to see them. As with all cats, some can be a bit spicy but it's usually just a warning teeth rub. I own cats so there's nothing new. I'm horribly allergic to the cat that specifically lives in my house, but I didn't get an allergy here, meaning that the cats are clean and well taken for. My favorite was a large sleepy orange boy, Ron (permanent non-adoptable resident) that was hanging out next to me the entire time.

Whether you are in the mood for a katsu sando, curry over rice, ochazuke with their matcha twist, or something sweet like the matcha cream pie, it is hard to go wrong here. All of the savory dishes I have tried have been great, but the fish katsu sando is one of my absolute favorites. The huge fish fillets are perfectly fried and flaky, tucked inside pillowy shokupan and topped with tangy yuzu shio koji sauce, tomato spread, and fresh crunchy cabbage. Every component works together beautifully, with richness, brightness, and texture all in balance. The pork katsu curry over rice is another standout. The katsu comes sliced into thick pieces that are still juicy inside, and it is fried expertly so the breading stays attached as you eat it. The curry has a really balanced flavor, even if I would not mind a little more spice, while the pickled radishes provide a nice contrast. I always add an onsen egg (for an additional $2) because breaking the runny yolk and mixing it into the curry adds another layer of velvety richness and creaminess. You can also tell they use high-quality matcha in their drinks, so the beverage menu is really more about choosing what fits your mood that day vs avoiding any bad options. Everything else about Cafe Venecia is a problem, and it has been a problem every time I've gone, including today. The outside tables are never cleared. Crumbs, coffee rings, somebody's abandoned napkin. No one comes out. Ask an employee about it and they'll point you toward a rag you're welcome to fetch and use yourself. That's the arrangement here -- you buy the coffee, you bus the table, you wipe it down, and the staff watches you do it. Today I asked for a bowl of water for my dog. The answer was no. Not "we're slammed, give me a minute," just no. So I asked whether they could put a little water in a to-go container instead, and was told, "Well, I can't give you a to-go container because we don't do them." Sit with that one. They don't do to-go containers, which means everything in the place comes in real dishware, which means the building is full of cups and bowls. They had exactly what I was asking for. They simply weren't going to hand one over, and they made sure I understood that by the tone. So: a café on University Avenue, with sidewalk seating, in a town where half the foot traffic is people walking dogs, has decided that tap water is outside its operating capabilities, and table cleaning is outside its operating capabilities, while charging Palo Alto prices is somehow well within them. There are a dozen places within three blocks that manage the coffee and the manners at the same time. Go to one of those. One star, and the star is for the beans.
