Beautiful cafe! Power outlets throughout the cafe. Delicious food and drinks. All drinks can be decaf! The barista was very nice. They changed shifts at 7? The guy working was super nice on a Sunday evening. Perfect place to study or get some work done. The best part is they open late until 10 or midnight sometimes.

Beautiful cafe in Berkeley. Spacious, bright and welcoming environment with a unique selection of yummy drinks and delicious savory and sweet treats. I tried Adeni Chai and Dubai cheesecake. Both were tasty and not overly sweet. Lady at counter was friendly and accommodating. Will be back when visiting Berkeley again.

Aesthetically this place is beautiful. Gorgeous place to study or get some work done. It was quite dirty with a lot of flies swarming around which is why I had to dock some stars. But given only one employee present I can see how it would be tough to maintain cleanliness. The bathroom was horrid. The pistachio latte was very good. Would give it a 8/10 for sure. If sweet drinks are your thing you will enjoy it. As for the honeycomb / pastry It wasn't for me. But to each their own.

Ok wow that might have been the best baklava I've ever had (it was twice as big, photo taken post-bite), so fkin juicy!!!! But not soggy, so crisp. Pistachio latte was chill, didn't taste so different from a regular latte which was disappointing after trying the baklava. Ambiance was super nice.

I came by to try them on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the rose latte, iced, 16oz, and pistachio latte, iced, 16oz. It was $7.75 for each of these drinks, no price difference for hot vs. iced. The cafe is pretty large inside with beautiful gold accents and a variety of seating options. It took over 10 mins for drinks, this might've been due to both some people having ordered ahead of me and also could possibly indicate the process of making the drinks took some time. I found the rose flavor comes through better and it gave the rose latte a really nice floral tint. But for the pistachio latte, I couldn't really taste the latte over the coffee, as someone who's very sensitive to the taste of coffee, so I preferred the rose latte over the pistachio.

What is going on with this explosion of Yemeni cafes in the bay? I mean I won't complain - I love milk cakes, large pots of caffeine, and non alcoholic spots open late-ish. If you've been to another Yemeni cafe, Milyar is pretty similar, but the decor/color scheme feels more fancy, and the space is huge. It does feel a bit cold and less cozy than other Yemeni cafes, but maybe that was just because it was pretty empty when I visited a year ago? Or maybe that's just how I was feeling.

This place was pretty cute! I got the saffron iced latte and it was alright. I'm sure other things on the menu taste better, but that drink really wasn't it. They do get high stars for the ambiance. The place is decorated beautifully. Very comfy seating. Outlets everywhere. Was a good place to study.

OK this place wasn't on the agenda this Saturday morning. After visiting Sweet Adeline, which by the way has the most delicious pastries, I decided to check out this coffee stop on the corner of Adeline that I saw. The inside decor is phenomenal. It has furniture that one would have at their home. Very pretty, very modern and giving the feel that this place just opened up. The drink options are various -I got a Cortado. I will say I liked that the person asked me what level of sweetness I wanted with my Cortado because I'm never usually asked and typically have to add my own couple packs of raw sugar. The barista served the best Cortado I've had outside of Spain. It was delicious, frothy, and with the right amount of sweetness. Definitely looking forward to patronizing this place again.

Parking nearby is horrendous, super busy even on the weekdays before the rush hour so I can't imagine weekends when people are out or other high traffic times. Get ready to make some rounds and pay for parking and be careful since there's very specific signage and times. The cafe itself is cute and cozy. Front area is a gift shop with lots of cat themed gifts and goodies like keychains, stickers, and such, and also some items from local and small artists too, which is neat. The cafe also has community events like movie showings ("The Cat Returns" was one of them which is a great choice) and cat yoga. If you're local, you can also get a time stamp if you are a frequent visitor. Definitely follow their socials for more information. There's reservations online and you can also do walk ins if it's not super busy. You can book for a 55 minute visit or a 30 minute visit. PRO-TIP: There's a discount for students, so if you want to be surrounded by some feline friends while you study or relax, great place to do so. You can hang your coat on the rack and there's a mini shelf area for your shoes. So you gotta walk in with socks! With each visit you can either get a hot cup of tea or a cold can or box drink from their fridge (sparking water, juices, etc.). Very refreshing and you can enjoy it in the cat area too. Sanitize your hands before and after visiting. There's lots of cats hiding around, sleeping, walking around, and some are super friendly and will go into your lap. There's toys you can play with the cats with and there's a wall of adoptable cats. Lots of seats or you can opt to sit on the floor with the cats too. There's relaxing lo-fi music throughout too. Pretty cool that they rescued 2 cats from Qatar and neat that we got to see them. As with all cats, some can be a bit spicy but it's usually just a warning teeth rub. I own cats so there's nothing new. I'm horribly allergic to the cat that specifically lives in my house, but I didn't get an allergy here, meaning that the cats are clean and well taken for. My favorite was a large sleepy orange boy, Ron (permanent non-adoptable resident) that was hanging out next to me the entire time.

I've…read moreheard this place has one of the best katsu sando around and as a lover of Katsu, I couldn't skip it. There's some good places in SF like Cafe Okawari. But Katsu is really becoming the new hype of the day for Japanese food, following the Sushi, Ramen, Japanese Curry, Katsu trend. So I came in with a critical view. I feel like Yoshoku in general may be next but I yet again digress. The box sandwich came in a cute little box. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.

Drinks: Ginger Matcha Latte: The strong matcha and spicy ginger flavor paired well with the sweetness of the Oat Milk creating a balanced flavor. Drink size was fair based on other matcha shops. Overall, a nice little tea shop to pick out a good quality matcha beverage, light Japanese style breakfast / brunch, or a sweet treat. Clean and quiet ambience inside with friendly staff.

I had checked this place's hours multiple times before. Everywhere it is listed open till 11:00pm when I checked. I got there. none of the original baristas I originally saw were there anymore. This was the difference of less than 4 hours. I highly doubt they'd have a separate shift change after 6:35pm. Regardless, there was a tall blonde guy with a permenant hanger-like smile on his face. He looked friendly, but later I realized he is a pig with a permanent smile. I went to the side I originally had wanted to sit at to grab a seat. Thie guy that was grabbing the chairs asked me something normal. I asked him if they were still open till 11:00. He said they were closing at 10:00 and pointed to a sign. I didn't notice the sign at all before and I checked online to see how late they were open and it was listed since 11:00pm so I asked him how long they had that sign. He said it was nearly a year. Then I was going to ask something else when the blond guy with hanger smile starting talking to me like I was a two year old. Spelling out C - L - O - S - E - D. I told him I was not talking to him and I was talking to the other guy. The other guy suddenly also got defensive. They both looked at me like I was out of my mind to not allow a conversation to be interrupted. Then they both started yelling at me without me raising my voice first. They started yelling at me and at each other something about private property....(I was standing on the sidewalk when the hanger smile guy started yelling to me out of nowhere about private property.) Then he started pointing his finger at me and yelling. They both started yelling and I yelled you will not point your finger at me and pointed my finger back at him. Then a "customer" walked from inside and said hey hey hey you're touching him. I was not touching anybody. This all happened incredibly quickly. Then a third guy jumped out of the store. He was very short as an appearance characteristic. He was quick to jump out as if ready to pick and continue a fight. This all happened too quick for me to be naturally ganged up by four violent men. He started yelling some things and he had this sick pleasure look in his face every time he yelled something utterly stupid at me. Then he proceeded to threaten me with calling the cops when four men started a fight with me out of NOWHERE and acted like sick violent pigs at 10:00pm. I walked away then he proceeded to follow me and threaten and yell. I walked back and told him if he comes one step closer to me I will hit him with my scooter. He stopped coming closer but kept yelling. Then he yelled something at me saying something something something something stupid something cat. I left the pigs as they were and went on my way. The entire time they were crying about private property they had the sickest smile of pure pleasure on their faces. It was absolutely disgusting to witness. They should all be in jail and not having a job.

Overall, it's been a good experience every time. Parking can be challenging depending on the time of day. Most of the parking is on the street, so you'll need to keep an eye out for pedestrians and bicyclists while looking for a spot. That's probably the biggest inconvenience of visiting this place. There is usually a 15 to 20-minute wait whenever we come for dessert, but we've always been seated within the quoted wait time, which we appreciate. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so the dining area can feel crowded. Tables are very close together, and you're practically sitting back-to-back with other guests. Because of this, the noise level can get pretty high, and it's easy to overhear conversations from nearby tables. The desserts are the highlight here. The BingSu is excellent, and the lava cake is one of our favorites. The menu is accessed through a QR code, making ordering simple and convenient. Food portions are decent, although prices are definitely on the premium side. Service is efficient, and the food and desserts usually arrive pretty quickly. We used to go to their city location regularly, but over the years we've found ourselves visiting this location more often because the area feels more comfortable and convenient for us. That has made this our go-to spot whenever we're craving dessert. Overall, this is a great place for dessert. The quality of the desserts keeps us coming back, but the difficult parking situation and cramped seating prevent it from being a full 5-star experience. Would definitely return for the BingSu and lava cake.
