Milton bakery is not much to look at from the outside but don't let that fool you! Their regular glazed sour cream donuts are the best all around donut I've ever had, and I have tried donut shops in many, MANY towns I've traveled through. $5 minimum on card purchases and if you come early, they have a selection of yesterday's leftovers for $2 for a big bag! Great small town bakery. The pricing is pretty good too! The cakes are a little dry and the frosting is your standard overly sweet American Buttercream. The cookies are pretty good and the donuts are good too. Not much variety on the style, just a standard bakery offering (no wow factor!) The place is SMALL and there is no sitting area anywhere (inside or out) and the building is located in such a weird spot it's frustrating to pull in and out of due to the traffic light and where the building sits. There is a drive through which is nice for those to use you don't want to drag the kids (or yourself) out of the car so you can't get your donut fix. The women (not sexism just haven't seen any men working here) that work there are friendly for the most part but there are 1 or 2 who are rude and unprofessional so pray you don't get them. Overall, good pricing, good sweets and good customer service. read more

I stopped by here after visiting the Train Museum and got a few donuts. It was surprisingly busy...it doesn't seem like much and is pretty basic on the inside but people seem to love it. Sadly, an unfortunate first and last experience with this bakery...on my sister's Wedding Day, no less. We arrived to pick up the wedding cake only to discover it had never been done. The date had been written down wrong by the employee. The employee's immediate response was to be defensive and to blame the bride! As if any bride EVER has not known her wedding date! The bakery did immediately start on the cake and we were able to pick it up a couple of hours later, but only with a $15.00 discount after all of the trauma and drama. I was thankful that they made the cake. I decline to review the cake itself. I will say that when we arrived to pick up the cake, the employee CONTINUED to blame the bride and NOT own the responsibility herself for the error. Again, I say....what bride EVER has not known her own wedding date??? I saw a previous entirely truthful review in which the bakery's response was again (and in their normal form) defensive and entirely fabricated about someone "grabbing their hand", "getting in their face", and "belittling them". Not one word of this is truth from our party. The situation was handled quite calmly by our party, certainly under the circumstances. I shudder to think how some other individuals may have responded. I cannot speak to any other items the bakery may have to offer, and I am sure that with limited competition in the small area they certainly have their supporters. I will say that I was profoundly disappointed in their general response and handling of our particular situation. There is a disgraceful lack of professionalism or desire to take care of the customer and make things right in the proper manner. I fully understand human error, and stated as such. Taking responsibility and happily making things right instead of trying to deflect blame is the proper way to handle issues that arise. I am super impressed. Just moved to the area and heard great things about this place. I went here around 2pm(on a Friday) and couldn't believe what a great selection they still had. I wanted to try everything all the bakes looked incredible. I finally decided on a dutch apple pie and raspberry donuts! I live in Long Beach, CA and my Mom lives in Milton. She recently underwent heart surgery and is in a cardiac rehab center in MIlton. The day before her birthday I called the bakery after looking up local Milton bakeries online and asked about purchasing a birthday cake for my Mom for the next day. The owner (Frances) was on her way out the door but gladly took my order, carried on a very pleasant conversation with me and even offered to deliver the cake to my MOM. Delivery is NOT a service that they normally offer but she recognized the fact that I was cross country and unable to take it myself and she went the extra mile, literally, to make sure my mother had a cake for her birthday....So refreshing dealing with the hospitable south. read more

Milton Bakery is truly one of those places that you find only rarely, if at all. It's so hard to find excellence in anything - and the Milton Quality Bakery epitomizes excellence in their products and their service. Every doughnut, cookie, eclair, cake - is a treat. The chocolate glazed doughnuts are bigger, better and tastier than any DD or KK. And their cake doughnuts are in another class onto themselves - that even a three-day old one (if it makes it that long at home) tastes better than any other fresh ones. Obviously this is a family owned and operated business that cares about what they do and how they do it. You will not find more helpful or polite people anywhere - and I realize, coming from California - the whole "southern hospitality" manners that you experience nearly everywhere - but here at the Milton Bakery it seems warmly genuine and authentic. Now, down to the star of the show - the Milton Quality Bakery Eclair - yes I capitalized it because it deserves to be capitalized. You will never have a better Chocolate Eclair anywhere - and I have tried them all over the US and foreign countries too. The closest comparison that you can make is to the "designer" Beard Papa creme puffs that originated in Japan and have now expanded in the US and other countries. And while there is no doubt that the pastry portion of the Beard Papa creme puff is wonderful, light and flaky - the Milton Quality Bakery Chocolate Eclair is a wonder to behold. The filling in the Milton Quality Bakery Chocolate Eclair is perfect! Not too sweet and the absolute perfect consistency - and it literally fills the entire Eclair from end to end. The pastry shell is tender and of the ideal consistency so when you bite into this piece of heaven - the filling doesn't come spilling out, or oozing out of the filler hole - which is amazing considering the amount of filling they manage to fit into the Eclair. You can eat one in your car (which happens often as it's quite difficult to wait until you get all they way home - even if you live only a couple of blocks away) and not worry about spilling any of the creamy filling on yourself. It is unlikely that you will ever have a better Eclair/Creme Puff in your life - so if you have a chance and ever get within 50 miles of Milton, FL - do yourself a favor and stop by the Milton Quality Bakery and have an Eclair or any of their other wonderful products. (Get their early if you want an Eclair - before 12 noon - or you can call them and they will actually reserve a couple for you to pick up - which is a good idea) Either way do yourself a goodie and treat yourself to true excellence - and something you will never forget. read more
