Last three equipment rentals were defective equipment that required us to reschedule jobs. We did not notice until the equipment was staged. Tree chipper, router, and cement mixer were all unusable. Two of which caused us to loose $500+ on jobs due to delays. The team is nice though. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised at how great it was renting from this business! I needed a pressure washer to clean the outdoor furniture and umbrellas. The guy that helped me was professional and courteous explaining how to operate it and put it in my car for me. When I dropped it off, it was the same level of professionalism and courtesy. I would not have expected it from a machine rental place but I was so pleasantly surprised that I wanted to write this review. Probably my 4th time over many years renting from Milpas Rental, and first time in a while. I needed a 2kW generator early the next day. I took a chance and called after closing at 4:10pm. Megan answered the phone in a chipper tone and I was able to quickly reserve the generator. Pickup at 7:30am the next day was a breeze; drive through, they show you how to operate the equipment while you are in the car, load it and you are off. Returned it the same way and final bill/contract in my inbox. What could be easier? The equipment works perfectly and is well maintained, and the staff is pleasant and friendly. We were in the area camping with our rental RV and our generator broke down so we called around for a rental and fortunately I found this wonderful place that was super helpful over the phone and it sounds like it's a small family operated business. The young lady that answered the phone was the daughter of the owner and she was very courteous, helpful, and professional. She went above and beyond to help a potential customer over the phone to help search for the right type of generator that had a RV ready connector. Although I didn't rent from this place because I needed something a little smaller in terms of power but I would definitely and highly recommend this place for equipment rental as they seemed like honest people who really go out of their way to help all their customers. read more

I really like using Milpas rentals. I rented a hedger it was $91 with a gallon of fuel. I was able to use it without any problems. They take pride in their rentals so you don't get back to your job and the piece of equipment doesn't work. I haven't had a need to go back to Milpas Rental for just over a year. The last time was a good experience...definitely worth a 5 on the rating scale. Today I needed some assistance with tools and some grinding and the service, staff, and end result literally could not be better. These guys are professional, efficient, and courteous, and makes me wish there were rating options well above 5 stars. I rented floor sanders from them and bought the belt sandpaper. They were not allowing returns of unused sandpaper during Covid which they normally do even though there was no risk to anyone but mainly my issue was the sanding equipment was really old and didn't work very well. read more

Today was my first experience with Milpas Rental, and I have to say, this company has really got it together. It was super easy to rent out and return the equipment. And the people were all very attentive and seemed very knowledgeable. My rental( gas powered pressure washer) worked perfectly for the job I had. Not cool. I needed to rent a jackhammer for some demo work and was pleased to see they advertised the new Hilti, however the only thing they had available was an older Hitachi. It worked fine but the power cord had a very worn plug that kept falling out of the extension cord socket. I lost way to much time stopping to replug the jackhammer back in. When I went back to to the shop to return the tool I arrived 5 min. before close. The man on duty inside had already locked the doors and did not respond to my knocking. I waited for him to come out at which point he refused to take the jackhammer and told me to come back in the morning. I explained that I live two hours North of Santa Barbara and wouldn't be here in the morning. He still refused to take the jackhammer. Terrible and unprofessional customer service. Here's the truth about Milpas Rentals, at least what I've seen over the last 30 years of my residency. They have a ton of tools to rent. Pretty much, if you need it, they most likely have it. I've rented from them several times as your basic homeowner and as a contractor. They have been polite and very fair about their service and rates. I've found their prices reasonable. Far cheaper than buying the product!! But that is not what sold me. Recently I rented a tool and then became ill and was unable to return the tool on time. They showed me grace and mercy. They had every legal right to require full payment of the multiple extra days. They were VERY kind to me and concerned about my well being. I thank them very much not just for their forgiveness but more importantly for their compassion. Absolutely I'll rent from them again, and again. read more

I rented a carpet cleaner from them today as I could not get a carpeting cleaning company to come out on short notice. Upon using the carpet cleaner I run into a glitch. My husband and I have been renting from milpas rental for many years now. If I could give it 6 stars I would. They have anything you can imagine to rent. From scissor lifts to great quality power tools. Their fleet of equipment is always in top shape and never outdated. You not only get amazing customer service every time, but definitely the lowest prices around. Their staff is super knowledgeable and super friendly. When we had our wedding a few years back, we needed extra power for lighting and kitchen equipment, and they were so helpful with leading us towards what size cord we needed and even connectors for all of the lighting.
