Even though it was clear he had a very busy schedule, he made a point to visit the site daily and was always available to answer my calls, which I really appreciated. The crew themselves were hard workers and clearly skilled in their trade. That said, with a project of this scale, I found that being a highly involved homeowner was necessary. There were a couple of instances where I had to step in to point out issues that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. To their credit, FG Pavers corrected these items immediately once they were raised. I'd recommend them for their craftsmanship and their willingness to make things right.

Bid/Quote: They came, inspected the project site and gave a complete quote including the construction detail. Tiles in an outdoor patio is uncommon, so we had a lot of questions from the grading to rebar to water proofing to sealent to grout. FG answered all the questions and accommodated our requests to align with the tile vendor recommendations. Price competitiveness: We spoke with 4 paver companies. 1 didn't want to do Porcelain tiles+ Paver, 1 didn't meet our budget, job was too small for one. Project Management: regular site visits by the site lead. Eduardo is a gem. They helped us pick the right material, picked up the tiles, did the dry layout and kept us updated on the schedule Work site: Saul and his team were punctual, spotless at the end of workday and walked through every step of the process. They made sure we reviewed the progress and that we approved the changes. We had a couple of last minute changes. Eduardo/Saul accommodated that. Saul is awesome to work with Quality of work: Wife can't stop beaming. I am going to be cashing that check for a while

Called the office and Adam came out a couple of days later to inspect our lawn and give us a quote. After talking to a few other local vendors, we decided to go with FENIX and we are really pleased we did. Adam, Kimberley and Erica communicated really well and answered any question we had about the entire process. They provided us with a few turf samples as well as an extensive list of referral addresses we could use to inspect their craftsmanship and the quality of the installed turf product. When the day to start the project arrived, Dylan and the large crew arrived right on time as arranged and immediately got to work. They were very professional and skilled. They were able to complete the entire project in one day and cleaned up the "worksite" nicely. We are extremely happy with the entire process from start to finish and would use them again if needed and would highly recommend them if you were considering installing artificial turf for your landscaping project. A neighbor had recommended Fenix. About a year ago a representative came to our house to give an estimate. He brought samples and measured the area and was quite thorough in his explanation and recommendations. We decided on one of the products but had to hold off installation because we were having other work done in the backyard that could have damaged a new turf. Finally the yard was done almost a year later and we contacted Fenix. Their prices had gone up only 10 cents a square foot but they honored our original bid. Installation was scheduled a couple of weeks later. A week before the install we received an email with the site prep, warranty, care instructions, and other useful information. They offer a discount if you pay by cash or check. On installation day they arrived close to 8 a.m. and apologized for being late as it was foggy in Sacramento and dangerous driving. The crew immediately got to work, first capping off the irrigation that watered the former grass lawn and then digging out the dirt and roots. They uncovered a couple of drainage pipes that we weren't aware of and cleaned them out and reset them to be operational under the turf. They accidentally cut some irrigation pipes and quickly repaired them. Once the job was finished they cleaned up our backyard, even on the side of the yard they weren't working in. The new artificial turf looks wonderful. We highly recommend Fenix if you are considering artificial turf for your yard.

We recently completed a landscaping project that included a new front lawn, a backyard fire pit and…read morefire ring, an expanded planting area, and new irrigation in both the front and back yards. Overall, we are happy with the finished project. The fire pit and planting area turned out beautifully, and the lawn looks great. There were a few dead spots in the new grass, but the team returned and repaired them. There were a couple of details that did not fully meet our expectations. We had a propane box installed to supply the fire pit, and we were disappointed with the cover, which was made from only two large standard tiles and does not look as finished as we had hoped. We were also surprised that much of the irrigation system was installed using flexible tubing rather than Schedule 40 pipe that was trenched and buried. Since much of the tubing is covered only by bark, we are concerned it could be damaged as people walk through the area. That said, Nick did a good job helping us plan the project and was very responsive whenever we had questions or concerns. Despite a few areas that could have been handled differently, we are pleased with the overall outcome.

The finished backyard looks excellent and the quality of the construction appears high. Vanessa specifically provided excellent, white-glove service throughout the entirety of the project and was super responsive to all of our communication. We did have a number of issues arise with the crew (mainly excessive dust seeping into our house and trash being left behind on the neighbor's property line), as well as the accounting department (an accidental attempt at overcharging us), but Vanessa always did an excellent job of troubleshooting these issues and helping to guide everybody towards a resolution. She also worked diligently on our backyard design and expertly guided us through several iterations and unexpected construction issues. I'm sooo busy lately but I'm also very design and detail oriented, so I was really afraid of leaving this project without an any supervision during one of my busiest travel schedule to date. From our first consultation, Michael felt like a genuine dude whom I could trust to get the job done, so I didn't feel like I had to manage anything or directly keep tabs on their work for the month or two it was completed AND WE STILL got the most gorgeous paver patio with curves to die for that I didn't even have to spec out myself. I feel like I just chose the pavers and Westcoast Hardscape made this beautiful new backyard happen magically. JK WE KNOW THEY PUT IN A LOT OF HARD WORK and the results speak for themselves. I hired Michael and his team for a large hardscape project. To his credit, he has at times gone…read moreabove and beyond -- for example, hauling away construction debris that wasn't his to keep the site clean. But in general, he has not been able to provide a crew that delivers work matching the quality you'd expect for the price. His crew frequently doesn't show up, and he often doesn't know where they are. When they are on site, they drink alcohol and smoke heavily. One day they appeared to have thrown a party, leaving food and beer bottles scattered across my yard for me to clean up. They've also taken items from the job site belonging to the homeowners and never replaced them. They've made decisions that put people's safety at risk, with no urgency to fix them. The main steps to my yard had to be redone because they were all different sizes and sloping down. Instead of making a plan to ensure a rapid repair, they tore up the stains and left the site a hazard. He then asked for payment for materials and tools to redo his mistakes. Michael doesn't seem to have real control over his crew and only shows up when an issue is escalated or when he needs payment. As homeowners, we shouldn't have to micromanage a contractor this closely just to know what his own crew is doing or when to expect them. On multiple occasions, his crew told him they were on site when they clearly were not. We have cameras. He also asked me to cover the cost of tools he should already have as a professional in this trade -- for instance, a wet stone-cutting tool to control concrete dust and protect his workers from inhaling it. Despite asking multiple times, his crew seemed resentful when I requested wet cuts, even for their safety. At this point, having already been paid roughly 90% of the total cost, it seems he doesn't have the funds left to finish the job and is now stuck. Like other reviewers here, I've been more than patient -- but this project is months overdue and still incomplete.

We did Installations for them and they still us over $26k in past due invoices for installs we completed months ago. They owe another subcontractor over $200k. Their license is suspended and has been for months. They legally cannot contract work but still do so unlawfully. The owner Matt Watkins does not live in CA and doesn't have a grip on what he's doing. Good luck with trying to get them fix any warranty work as this falls under the subcontractor. They don't answer calls or emails if you have an issue or anything post install related. We've began a formal complain with the Contractors License Board and have began legal proceedings against Bay Area Turf. Due your due diligence and do not hire this company. You have been warned!
