Tried to go on a Friday night but we were just a little too late to get seated as we had a large group with family and friends. On Saturday we ordered takeout pizza and went to family's. The pizzas were ready for pickup just as we walked in. The drive was a killer having to smell those pizzas and anticipating their taste. Finally, we arrived and could grab a square of pure delight. Great as always but just one problem, we should have gotten a fourth pizza! Those Uppers sure can eat.

I liked the Gratiot River more as the avocado gave the sandwich good moisture, while the Brockway Mountain was rather dry. They were well packaged for portability. The bulk foods section is extensive, and they have a good variety of snacks and frozen food that punches above its weight given the smaller size of the store. If you're in town, definitely stop by to pick up something new!

The "small" salad was quite large and very fresh. I can't imagine how big the large salad is! My Jagerschnitzel was good. I would say I would have a lighter breading would have made it even better, but I'd still recommend. Tonight was a " Chamber of Congress" type evening in Houghton. I don't imagine 80 degree nights happen a lot way up here! The great weather brought a lot of people out and about enjoying the river walk and downtown. The restaurant had to limit the number of people seated because they must have been at capacity for their staff.

We ordered a meal of breaded whitefish fillets and six breaded shrimp and each had a garden salad for our two sides. Not all the salad ingredients seemed completely crisp and fresh, but the number of veggies in it was terrific. The fish and shrimp were good, although I might choose some unbreaded options another time. There were nautical decor items throughout the restaurant. Our server was friendly and efficient.

You can get ready made pasties, sandwiches, and bakery items to eat in or to go. They also have frozen pasties to take and bakery items at home. The frozen pasties are fully cooked and only need to be thawed and heated through. The inside dining space is somewhat small, but there is also lots of outside dining space as well. This was a great find and as more than the traditional pasty...my personal favorite was the chicken and broccoli.

If that want enough, we came back the next evening for the music and were told after ordering apps, that the wait would be 2 hours...mind you, the place was no where near even half full. And it took almost 2 hours. I will also echo the shock of an upcharge for using a credit card. Food alone would be 5 stars, but service was excruciatingly slow and so it's 3 stars.

I typically like more a of a medium but restaurants typically overcook steak so I went a little less. Now this steak was barely seared on the outside and was cool and purple inside. That was a RARE steak. We joked that it was still mooing. I was waiting for the server to come back so o could have them throw it back on for a bit but she never even made eye contact with our table. No refills on drinks or anything. When she finally returned I had eaten all my veggies and potato so I was full and asked for a box. I cooked the steak at home for a few minutes and had to add a decent amount of seasoning. I don't think we will be returning to Quincy's again.

They were happy to let me have a salad and soup for sides instead. The French onion soup was cheesy and delicious. The salad was a standard house salad. There were eight large shrimp with melted butter, plus a few mixed veggies on the plate. I left satisfied. There was plenty of parking and the restaurant had a mix of tables and booths.
