What a cute spot in a cute town. When you see the pink house you know you are there. We visited on a quiet morning so it gave us time to look around. Cute decor, vintage photos, a separate bar and a back deck, created a cozy feel. Our server was so kind. She was friendly and chatted with us about this small town and made suggestions for things to do in Dubuque. She explained that the restaurant was named after the owner's daughter. Sweet. Warning: the portions are huge. It's very easy to over order. I bet everyone leaves with a doggie bag. My friend had biscuits & gravy. I had veggie hash. We were both very happy with our choices. I loved this little diner for so many reasons. I will definitely visit again the next time I'm nearby.

Just had an amazing breakfast at Millie's Diner. One of the best pancakes I've ever had. Wait staff was friendly & the place was clean. Definitely worth a visit & I'm going back next time I'm in the area!

Great find! Just passing through and found this nice little local cafe. The service was very pleasant and accommodating when my husband asked to sub a small side of biscuits and gravy for his pancake. The hash browns were a bit mushy for my taste, but the pancake was awesome. Well worth the stop!

This was the first time stopping in since changing to Millie's. Sunday morning and they were understandingly busy. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive despite running her head off keeping up with other tables. We got our food and couldn't believe the amount they put on a plate and it was all excellent tasting food. Forget the chain restuarants and go to a small town diner. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Pancakes are huge and wonderful!

We stopped in this wonderful little dinner on our way across country ! The food was fresh and just delicious. The owner came out and spoke to us - he's kind and engaged in his diner. #wewillbeback

A query to the waitress and she responded - yours are next. Then we get 4 of our 6 orders. And waited for the other two. The. One of the orders was not cooked fully, so she then waited. Did I mention it took an HOUR from order to first delivery, and then longer for the two chicken sandwiches, then longer for the re-fire on the under cooked burger. The burger I had was good but in no way worth any type of wait. And the place wasn't even packed!! Good burgers and onion rings. EXTREMELY SLOW SERVICE. And really not attentive for a small town restaurant. I would pass on this place. It's good but not worth a trip out of the way, nor worth waiting.

It's just one gentleman boiling the burgers, and with some people ordering half a dozen at a time, things move slowly. There was no shade while waiting under the hot sun, it might be a good idea to wear a cap. The menu is as simple as it gets: burgers with or without onions, about $6 each and roughly slider-sized. Condiments are limited to mustard and ketchup, and they also sell canned drinks. There are a few small tables and chairs nearby if you want to eat right away. Overall, it was worth trying once for its history and classic Wisconsin charm.

We arrived around noon on a Saturday and waited in line for about 20 minutes. There's no shade while you wait, so plan accordingly especially in summer! Parking is free and fairly easy to find on the street. It was a bit confusing when we arrived, as there are two windows on opposite sides of the stand and no clear signage indicating where to order. Turns out, you can order from either window. The operation is run out of a small shed with four people working inside. One person was boiling the burger patties, another was taking orders at the window near candy company, a third was at the opposite window, and a fourth was handling payments. The menu is simple: burgers with or without onions, and three condiments--ketchup, mustard, and spicy mustard. Each burger is $6.50, and they do accept credit cards. As for the burger itself, it was okay. The meat didn't seem seasoned, but it wasn't dry thanks to the boiling method. The bun was basic, and the burger size was slightly larger than a slider. Personally, I think it's a bit pricey for what you get, but considering the stand has been around since 1909, they clearly have a loyal following. Overall, I'm glad we gave it a try--it's always fun to experience a bit of local food history.

We love good tartar sauce on fries (I'm VERY particular on what we consider "good") and their tartar sauce was outstanding! A different Yelper mentioned coming for "brunch," but it quickly became clear that she meant she came before noon for lunch because it was not a brunch menu. We really enjoyed what we ate and liked the atmosphere even though a hipster bar vibe was not what we originally expected, because we thought it was a brunch place. I will definitely read such reviews more carefully in the future, but we had a fantastic experience, anyway.

The menu was quite a bit more extensive than I expected with lots of offerings for any taste. I settled on the fried broccoli and cheese bites and a chicken parm sandwich. The bits of burnt mozz really underneath the sandwich for an added crunch. The service was everything you could have asked for. Quick, friendly. You name it. Only one person appeared to be working both the bar and table area, service was a little bit on the slow side, but the gentleman was polite and accommodating. Cheese Curds were good, nothing spectacular and the quantity received was on the small side compared to what you might get at other establishments. They were out of tortillas so there were no wrap options. For a Saturday, not sure how they could run out already by lunch time. Sunday, dinner? Maybe??? I could understand, but going into a weekend? How is your kitchen not fully stocked? Main meals were hearty and good (burger & cheese stake), but again, nothing really special. All in all the food was nothing out of the ordinary and the place is just basic.
