Another bicycle store on Central Park Avenue replaced my Schrader valves with Presta valves. The tires didn't need to be changed. They also talked me into changing the chain, which also didn't need to be changed. Their prices were sky high too. Additionally, it became necessary for me to purchase a new pump...yet another cost. Instead of going back for more abuse, I found Miller's. The store has a classic look from when it first opened decades ago. Inside the store, I also experienced old fashioned courtesy and professionalism. I originally entered the store on Mamaroneck Avenue and went downstairs with my bicycle. Martín tested out a pump I considered purchasing by pumping air into both of my flat bicycle tires. It was a great experience I'd highly recommend. I started visiting this establishment when it was principally just a toy store back in the early 2000's. I visited it again on my weekend rides and the rear/downstairs was much more established and customer friendly. Having much experience with bicycle shops over my 50 plus years plus I was surprised when they had an advertisement in a Bicycle trade paper for a floor manager. I went in for the ''interview'' during Covid and was given a Half Attention dialog/interview with the owner and concluded they are guilty of ageism pure and simple. To make matters more egregious, i subsequently stopped by to pay a token visit as a customer to actually purchase a maintenance product and was given that same blank stare. I have urged all my serious cyclist friends since to avoid said establishment, especially if you are over 50 years old. Sorry to write, some people never get it or have courtesy. Ray K. read more

My son went there to have his bike fixed. He was not able to get the guys name but he was very patient and accommodating. He took time to educate my son on bike parts, changed his tires, made sure all are well inflated, checked the brakes and charged him for an insanely cheap price. He was a great human being. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I love supporting small businesses, especially now more than ever because of the pandemic, however, my experience here was just awful. Awful, awful, AWFUL. The man with dark hair was extremely rude. It was as if he had a problem checking us out, like we were asking him for a huge favor. This isn't even the worst part. When we thanked him as he handed us our receipt, he actively chose to ignore us and turn his back fully away from us. Happy holidays to you too? I came here to get my daughter's first bike. The staff seemed to not care at all. Was unwilling to stop their repairs and actually show what bicycles would work for a child her size. They made it seem like taking a bike out and showing a small child any level of kindness or excitement about her first bike as a bother. The only reason I gave two stars is because the upstairs selection of books is the only children books available for sale on the Ave. I ended up going to the bike shop in Larchmont, receiving better service and free repairs for the bikes life. read more

I go out of my way to buy from this store - the prices for the legos and toys I purchased were comparable to big chain stores but the experience is what really sells me every time. Staff are so welcoming and helpful - the store is like one big toy box with floor to ceiling toys of all kinds. Lots of more educational and crafty activities/games. I tested them: Tool a bike that needed attention, he immediately told me I need to replace brakes $44!!!! The same guy had just given me new brakes months ago. They were unused. Ignore the other reviews, my experience here has been nothing but great. The people there are very nice and kind. I took one of my bikes to another local bike shop(can't say which) and they said they'd have it done in a week. One week later, they hadn't even looked at it. I told my dad that we had to pay twice as much for every toy at this store. He was not happy. I bought a toy for $70 and it costs $35 on amazon. We are intelligent people and understand how important it is to help out local stores in our community, and that they should not have to kneel down to the empire that is amazon. However, we did not invent computers that make everything easier for people. If my father or I did then I suppose we wouldn't have to write this. The problem I found is that this specific toy only lists for $40 EVERYWHERE in the world! How dare you double the price of all of your toys. We were in the market for an outdoor ping pong table and ended up at Miller's. This was our first visit to this store. Upstairs is a large toy store with lots of great looking toys. Downstairs is a bike shop, and that's where the ping pong tables are. We were immediately greeted by a salesperson. He was knowledgeable about ping pong tables and was able to answer our questions. He was very familiar with the two models that they had. In less than half an hour, we walked out having made a purchase. We were told that we had timed our visit well because they could deliver our table that day. Two hours later, two pleasant and efficient guys delivered and set up our new ping pong table in our backyard in Purchase. Now that's service! read more

My husband decided we needed to stop in to Miller's after brunch this morning. We're new to the neighborhood and just getting to know the shops along Mamaroneck Ave. This one's a lovely little find! Great selection of toys for children of all ages, a downstairs bike shop and a section with children's shoes and clothes. I'm surprised to see a review about bad service; we experienced the opposite. I am surprised to hear about the bad service in the bike store, I had a great experience the other week. I brought in my bike and a travel case (both purchased elsewhere), seeking help getting the bike packed up - I had been fighting with the pedals for hours. They had the whole thing packed up for me in like 5-10 minutes (they have a good setup with proper tools!), and didn't charge me anything though I offered several times. Super-nice. read more

What a great local toy store and baby store! Very friendly and courteous staff. Their baby store has all the best baby products from strollers to bottles. Also, really gorgeous but pricey clothing. If you need a stroller go here. Strollers can be assembled for you which is an amazing plus. You may have to order a stroller but its worth the wait if someone will put stroller together for you. The OWNER/MANAGER (of all people!), Brooke, called me rude when I had my child fitted for shoes and then politely declined to make a purchase. Wow. I have never had such a negative, offensive experience in retail. The manager definitely has a chip on her shoulders. I went right home and emailed all my local friends of my experience. This place is horrible and the owners are just as horrible!!! One of the owners (Brooke ) is rude and very wishy washy. She's a wet rag!!! All of the clothing is over priced and it seems as if they like to sell out of season clothing at full price trying to pass it off as new arrivals.
