Buyer beware. Prices here are massively inflated (often 200%+ over typical market value), and the authenticity of some items is questionable. I also had concerns about possible card skimming, which is a serious issue. Do your research, verify everything carefully, and consider safer alternatives before making a purchase. read more

Hate this place. Everything is incredible over price. For all the card collectors, a product you could buy for $60 at target, is $500 here. It seems to be a family running it and they are incredibly rude. One time I was in there, I almost dropped a box but caught it, the woman behind the counter screamed at me and then sent a younger woman to "help me" by help they meant picking up everything off the shelves and showing them to me without letting me hold it. I was being watched to whole time as if I was going to hide a product the size of my head in my pocket. I ended up buying a $16 pack of cards and was told to get something else because the total was to cheap. They wanted me to get my total to over $20 or they wouldn't sell me anything. I left without saying anything. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

The people that work here are very rude and getting in your face and yell at you and they keep an eye on you at all times acting like you're gonna steal something which is really just unbelievable and I don't know if I'll ever be able to come back because if I had traumatizing experience that has made me uncomfortable for a while, and I see that man in my dreams I see his stare and also everything is overpriced and all I'm trying to get our toys for my little sister and I can't because everything is so overpriced read more

I had a really disappointing experience at this store today. My friends and I came in planning to buy some NeeDohs, but before we could even look around properly, we were told to leave just because we were laughing and talking. We weren't being disruptive, breaking anything, or bothering anyone -- just having a normal conversation while shopping. It felt super unwelcoming and honestly pretty rude. If a store doesn't want teenagers/customers inside unless they're completely silent, they should probably make that clear at the door. We came ready to spend money and left feeling embarrassed instead. Definitely won't be coming back, which is a shame because we actually wanted to support the store. read more

This is the place to go if you're looking for: - 2nd hand /used items, often broken, sold as new with a 200% markup - a return policy that covers you up until the moment you walk out the door - looking to buy an item past it's expiration date - to be treated either 1) as a major nuisance, 2) potential thief or 3) or you have a strong desire to interact with the most miserable person in larchmont If your needs fall into any of these areas, you can't miss here. The place is a virus. read more

Very nice corner store - great for newspapers, cards and candy...also have school supplies. Very nice family runs the store. read more

Extremely overpriced- Very rude- Was practically yelled at and told to leave the store for "looking up prices" when I was just on my phone texting. Was wanting to buy things but left due to the rude behavior from the guy at the front read more

First of all, when Yelp posted this they still had my old address. I changed it, but I want to make clear that I live in Larchmont, NY. This store is just a short walk from my home, and they sell lots of nice cards and toys, so in the past I have not minded paying their "shop local" higher prices. However, they don't give you an itemized receipt unless you ask, and when I asked for one today (when I had a total that seemed too high) it did not have descriptions of the items, just a list of prices. When I compared the prices to prices on what I had bought, I saw that they overcharged me on three items. When I called them after I discovered this, I was told they don't process refunds on credit card sales. I may go back to try to get what I'm owed, but otherwise I won't go back again. read more

I've been shopping at The Corner Store since the 90s. They are NEVER rude nor do they ever make you uncomfortable. They go out of their way to assist you. I would assume those who considered them "rude" it was because those customers were disrespectful and expected the staff to take their entitled attitude. I moved away years ago, yet I sill go back to do my shopping there since they have good quality stuff and I love the staff. read more

Good selection of (over-priced) gifts, mainly toys and school supplies, but...they seem to hate kids being in there. Not friendly. Makes for a super unpleasant shopping/browsing experience, even when we're keeping a very close eye on our well-behaved kids! read more

way way way overpriced. they say they have a $20 credit card minimum which is the highest I've experienced. I had to grab more items to reach the minimum which felt very scammy. I will go here to look around and get ideas but never buy again. read more

Such horrible staff! They could care less about there job! They are not friendly at all. And it's not a comfortable environment to be in.

They are rip offs, maybe even thief.they charge 3× the amount for pokemon cards. Pokemon product that cost 43$ at target they charge 97$. Something that cost 20$ they charge 40.another pokemon product that is 30$ they charge 67 plus tax. Like WHAT!!!!! What a disgrace. No stars for scalping. Before you buy anything look online. read more

Great selection, but huge mark up and abysmal return policy. Double check the pricing in store, because if you come back the next day after realizing that you paid $45 for a $20 Lego, you'll be out of luck. read more

The Corner Store is overpriced and the only variety store in its part of Larchmont, an unfortunate combination for residents. Its central location in western Larchmont at the intersection of Chatsworth and Palmer (very near the Larchmont train station) put it at a very convenient location, which the owners have taken advantage of. Almost everything is marked up to right below the threshold at which people will no longer buy items because they're so pricey. The cashiers and other staff have been disrespectful and rude at times, but recently some have been friendly. It continues to stay in business because of its location and because people won't walk half a mile east down Palmer to CVS, which is more affordable. read more

I tried to return a fan I purchased that was defective (it never turned on). As it had been hot that week and the power was intermittent in Larchmont (which was irrelevant to me because my home has a generator), the owner accused me of trying to scam him by returning the fan. When I tried to explain that I purchased it for my son's college dorm, and that we were just unpacking everything for his trunk and trying the fan out, he continued to berate me in front of my neighbors. I was shocked and sad. The week prior, I had spend $180 there on college supplies for my son. I will be back to shopping on Amazon I guess. I won't be insulted and accused of fraud particularly after I tried so hard to "shop local." read more

The staff is beyond rude! An employee rushed up to me while I was picking an anniversary card and told me to take what I have and leave because she doesn't want this many people in the store. There was a total of maybe 6 other people in the store, none of which were in my aisle nor the aisle next to me. I've heard the staff was rude and are constantly accusing people of stealing. I initially took my 15 year old nephew in Because of his fear of their chronic stealing accusations. Most places who have a line at the door to keep capacity down but I've never been so rudely thrown out of a business. They will never ever get our business again. STAY AWAY! read more

This Palmer store has a wide array of useful things- stationery, school and office supply, great magazine selection, and many other doodads. My kids liked the penny candy when they were younger. Prices are always higher in a high rent district. But the cost of having yet another empty storefront seems a worse cost to bear. I give local shops my business whenever I can. In 23 years as a customer, I have never found the owners or staff to be rude. Mostly they are helpful. I'm sure they aren't perfect, who is? read more

To be honest, I don't know how to feel about this place. On one hand, they have very good products but at the same time, everything here is extremely overpriced. The people who run the store aren't very nice either. If you pick something up to look at it before buying it, you will get in trouble. read more

This is a convenient local variety store with friendly staff in Larchmont. It is perfect for when you need it right now. They have a surprisingly wide variety of items from poker chips to Legos to Pokemon cards and magazines and lottery tickets. Of course you will pay a little extra for convenience which is okay by me since I always have a choice to visit the corporate big box store or Amazon online. I am a little surprised by some of the older negative reviews here on Yelp. I guess the Internet has a negative bias with most happy customers not bothering to post. I hope this review helps to balance things a bit. read more

The customer service here is non existent. I purchased a faulty board game here for my kids and when I asked to exchange it, the cashier examined the game and then said it was my problem and that I should just "play it anyway." When I pressed that this seemed unreasonable, she told me I would have to come back another time when the manager was there. She was curt and rude. I will not be giving this place any more business. Please take the 5 min drive up to Miller's for games/toys, it is SO much better and a true Mom and Pop. Miller's knows how to treat a customer and how to keep one. Pretty much the opposite of Corner Store. read more

Never go in here with children. I was in here looking for cards for my friends birthday and as I was about to pay the man walked up to me and told me to come look at the cards. He yelled at me for messing up the cards when earlier a older women came in and messed up the cards herself. I was flabbergasted and stood there not knowing what to say. I apologized and quickly got out of there. WORST SERVICE EVER. read more

Unlike the other reviewers, I think this is a great store!! While prices are on the higher side, it's in such a convenient location so that's to be expected. the Corner Store in Larchmont is extraordinary! while i certainly do miss the Larchmont Store with its quaint charm the Corner Store is beyond compare! the selection is phenomenal and if the item you are seeking is not available the owner is most accomodating and will special order!
