I've been working since 10th grade to help my mom because she is a single parent so for me the loss of about 5k including repairs leave me without transportation as I can not afford to repair it at this point. I've spent 3.7k on a bike, this isn't including the repairs i had to pay over the span of a year which amount to at least 1.4k+ after random bolts detaching and motor failing, and as soon as the warranty expired my bike had a random electrical issue where the bike wouldn't accelerate. My share was about 25% of the proceeds from the sale. I regarded the settlement as perfectly unfair, and returned the check to HMS - with a letter that detailed my complaint. Again, months passed - awaiting any response. At length, HMS readily agreed to a revised settlement. Yet again, months elapsed until I received a new settlement check - with another letter of profuse apology for the delay. None of this would have occurred without my persistent effort to contact HMS - for information updates regarding the sale of the scooter. My year of contact with HMS leaves the impression of business practice that is almost unimaginably scattered and disorganized. I do not know why HMS appears to be so overwhelmed with routine business tasks. Still, I do not believe that HMS is engaged in any kind of deceptive business practice. Let's hope matters will improve at HMS. Meanwhile, customers would do well to expect the unexpected.
