They were early the next day, it was a full day of work with a crew of about 5 people. Everything was clean and they were very careful to not damage plants and there. I needed some trees cut down and immediately checked yelp for tree services. I called on a tuesday morning and Rafael picked up immediately and was able to come to my house in 30 minutes for a free estimate. I needed 2 bottle brush trees cut down with stump grinding/removal and another tall bush with stump removal. I had previously had 2 other estimates and rafael had the best price around. I read his other reviews and despite a recent negative, the positive reviews were overwhelming. So I decided to give them the job. Rafael was able to do the work he next day (today). They showed up a few minutes after the agreed upon time but called to let me know (which i take as a positive). When Rafael and his crew showed they were ready to work. They unloaded their tools and started with the trees. They worked very fast and efficient. They ground out all of the stumps and removed all of the debris. They also ended up trimming some large branches off of my apricot tree which were around power lines. When the job was done Rafael walked the job site with me and made sure everything was clean and to my standards. I showed them a few small things and they quickly cut them and cleaned it at no additional charge. He then recommended i cut down another fig tree that had been giving me problems and for an additional but very fair price he cut it down and ground the stump out also. Not to mention his crew had already put all of their gear away. All in all Rafael was very professional and very efficient. I have a narrow duplex with a tiny yard, but this invasive ivy had overgrown the whole chimney and was covering the master bedroom's only window so I started looking for someone to take all that off. No one wanted to do it, either the gardeners I called didn't want to do 2nd floor work and the tree trimmers thought it was too small a job to bother with. Also there's no back access to the yard, it's surrounded by a high fence, so it seemed all the trimmings would have to be dragged back out through the house. Rafael Millan was one of the very few who would even give me an estimate on it. He and his 3 man crew arrived on time, and were all nice, polite, friendly, and professional; they not only took care of the ivy but they also topped off the back fence privacy hedge and trimmed the huge rose bush back for the winter. They did all this in a little over an hour, starting right when it started drizzling outside, and they actually pitched all the trimmings back over the fence so there was not a speck of stuff dragged back through the house afterwards, and mulched it on the spot so the neighbors didn't complain about the parking lot. Hard-working, honest, family-run business. Rafael and crew showed up promptly at 7:45am to trim a VERY overgrown pepper tree. Tree was beautifully trimmed without being butchered to pieces. I'm very thankful for the hard work and beautiful end result. The tree is the focal point of our house so I was especially worried with the end result, but it looks beautiful. Nicely thinned but still with some green left. I would definitely use them again. So last May, I had them come out and remove 4 palm trees. Two of them were quite tall, 20+ feet, and two were smaller and they did a good job, were on time and quick about the service. Now, we had negotiated the price to include removal of the root balls or at least to grind then down. They were ground down... about 6 inches. The other 2 1/2 feet... Solid root ball and (not their problem) roots emanating out some 20 to 30 feet out from the ball. I hate palm trees. So, be clear because they do not comprehend English well at all and I don't speak Spanish. read more

I had a root issue in my main line. Rafael came and trimmed a bottlebrush medium size tree for me last week. Prices were decent. He took it down to the stump and trimmed a orange tree while I was at work. I originally needed the stump removed. He was knowledgeable and did not recommend a stump removal because it was so close to my sewer line it could possibly damage it. I would use him again for future jobs. read more

Recently I had Millan tree service out to my home for the 3rd time. First 2 times were to top my Italian Cyprus trees. Last time was to remove a big palm tree growing too close to my driveway causing upheaval. Raffaele and the guys were great as usual. Came on a super hot day and got right to it. The tree looked much bigger in pieces on my driveway. The guys were so hot..we always provided drinks. I'm glad to join the list of satisfied customers of Millan Tree Service. I called on a Monday morning for an estimate to trim a number of trees at my home in Porter Ranch. Instead of an answering machine or an answering service, I was able to speak directly with the owner, Rafael Millan. He advised me that he could come to my home that very afternoon to give me a quote. He and his son arrived as promised, surveyed the situation and provided me with a written estimate on the spot. I accepted their fair offer immediately and signed a contract with no deposit required. I was then amazed to be told that they would start the job the very next morning.
