The owners of the dogs that come here are almost always very social and so great to chat with and there are always regulars. When we got there, there were only 2 dogs in the small section but I'm sure they were not under 30lbs and kept jumping on us which resulted in scratching my leg. Luckily the owners noticed the dog's behavior and left. My pup was the only one in there and she absolutely loved it. A great way to burn that puppy energy. The park is very clean and also has a water fountain for dogs to drink from. Will definitely be back when the weather gets warmer.

A word of advice to doggy parents that haven't been to a dog park before: let your dog off the leash and run around. There was one family that brought their dog and wouldn't let the dog off the leash. Then the dog was getting all sorts of defensive at other dogs that were just coming up to play, and it was causing all sorts of problems. The dog on the leash felt restricted and so he started getting really angry at the other dogs. He kind of ruined the party and a lot of us left after he got there. Bring your own water because they don't have a water source. Dogs of all sizes were there. Turbo had a blast!!

There's two sections separated by large and small dogs. The grass surrounding the areas aren't maintained well but once inside the park, it's fine. My pup went into the small area and no one was there which we liked since the big area had a couple of big dogs which the parents weren't really paying attention to. This park is right off Bristol Road on an old air base and you couldn't possibly miss it. It's a spot that will please people of all sorts, as there is quite a bit to do. There is a pretty long track that runs along the perimeter of the place, with exercise spots along the way. I believe it says it's about 2.5 miles, which is great if you're trying to keep some accountability. You'll even get to see the abandoned neighborhood through some of the fencing as you walk, which is kind of cool to see. This place also has a dog park within it, as well as a huge playground. It's a great spot to bring the kids, but make them go to the bathroom beforehand. The restrooms are locked for the winter and the porta potties aren't in great shape. If you find yourself wondering across the street, there is another park (Munro) that offers another playground and a place for the skateboarders to let loose. If you know what geocaching is, you will also be able to partake in some of that. Most people I encounter absolutely love this park. Great for runners, bladers, and bikers. For me personally, I enjoy places that are a little more quiet and have nature trails. This place works though.

The first time someone came in after us. The first red flag on their dog was when they kept repeating "be nice " over and over as they entered the park. The dog quickly become aggressive and we left. I enjoy going to dog parks with smaller crowds so my personal opinion would be to not enter this one (that's not monitoring who is coming + going) when there is a huge crowd.

Not only is the park great for my furry friend, the people there all seem to be very nice, especially when we bring our smaller Beagle in to play with the big boys and girls. Easy to walk trails that run alongside the water and wind through the woods you don't have to wander long before the noise of the city is replaced by the sound of the breeze, ripping through the trees and the water rushing downstream. It is my quiet reminder that a little peace and stillness is easily found in our own backyard.

Walking away from Ridge Ave. it is the last road on the right off of scotts lane that can take you to Sherman Mills (usually they have the 18 wheeler trailer sitting there) Walk down that lane and it will be around back on the left hand side (look for the red barn) You can also look on the map, I placed the pin fairly close to the entrance, close enough that if you are at the pin, you can't miss the wooden door that kind of looks like a fence.
