Peace Valley Park was quite busy when we stopped by for a quick walk. Being one of the first nice spring days in PA, the path was quite active with dogs, walkers, runners, and even a bike passed during our brief visit. Six miles of asphalt trail surround Lake Galena. It is handicapped friendly. Plenty of benches along the path to sit and watch the water activities. We will be back later in the season to check out the wooded trails. We took a short walk then drove around to the other side where there were pavilions and a nature center whcih I will discuss in a separate review. From our brief visit, this Doylestown park has a lot to offer. Fishing, boating, picnicking, birdwatching and more. We will be back for sure to explore more. read more

This is a beautiful park that has really nice paved trails. They have signs that let you know the degree of the steepness. Wonderful Waterview, all kinds of flowers and trees to admire . I saw people on bikes as well as joggers and walkers. Very nice park read more

A nice place to visit nature and get away from the hustle and bustle. The park has a beautiful lake to boat or kayak on. There is a macadam trail over 6 miles long that goes around the whole park for walking or biking. Plenty of different parking areas to enter the park. Bathrooms available. Neat picnic areas for friends and families to relax and have a cook out. There are 6k races around the park. You will need to check Peace Valley Park's schedule as to when they are being held. There is a nature center at one end of the park where you can have a Park employee introduce you to the animal habitats that reside at Peace Valley. There is no charge to visit the park. They rent canoes and kayaks. Whether you are there to relax, have a picnic, ride a bike, or kayak Peace Valley Park's offers it all. Enjoy! read more

Beautiful place for picnicking, walking, biking, or kayaking. Most of the trails are paved, and can get a bit hilly. There are also trails that are unpaved, and go through more wooded areas. The park has a nature center which is very nice and worth stopping into. Dogs aren't permitted on the unpaved trails, but are allowed to be on most of the paved trails, and picnic areas. There are a few entrances for different areas of the park. This can get a little confusing if you're not from the area. There are a few other places nearby that are worth stopping into as well. These are the lavender farm, and Tabora Farm which is a great place to pick up lunch before heading to the park. read more

A serene and yes peaceful place. The park surrounds Lake Galena. There are spots to fish as well as places to launch a kayak. I'm not sure if boats are allowed. Several parking lots are available. The trails go around the lake. Trails are well kept. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash. A good idea since lots of dogs are here! There are also some woods and fields. The park is clean. Bathrooms were locked but port o potties were available. They were as clean as possible. The park is a good place to catch both the sunrise and sunset over the lake read more

Peace valley is a really nice park, there aren't many parking lots and once you set out to walk the path it's very long around the lake unless you turn around. There's always wildlife to look at and I also love kayaking here! It's super convenient to get to, right outside of doylestown ! Always a good spot to spend a nice day at! read more

While Peace Valley Park is a beautiful oasis of field, forest and water, when I visited last weekend there was nary a parking space. People were packed in on the trails and along the waterfront with little concern for social distancing, nor masks. It looked so unsafe to be there despite the perfect weather, that we decided not to search for parking, but to leave the park for another less overcrowded day. We are all feeling rammy about the too long quarantine and have chronic cabin fever, but to ignore the advice of health experts that precautions remain essential to avoid infection, is to not only risk my own life, but the lives of those I love. The North Branch of Neshaminy Creek and the reservoir from its damming (Lake Galena) will still be there when it is safer to explore. read more

Peace Valley Park is great!! I've been to Peace Valley a few times when I was younger but I hardly remembered it until the next time I went to Peace Valley which was back on July 3rd (to celebrate a birthday and the 4th of July). What's not to love about Peace Valley? Plenty of parking, wide open spaces, picnic benches to eat with a great view of Lake Galena and awesome trails to walk around Lake Galena! We saw people running, walking, playing sports, kayaking, fishing and it was all on a beautiful sunny day to boot! I only really saw the area around Lake Galena and walked halfway around the lake, but I definitely want to return and see more of Peace Valley as it is a fantastic park not too far from home! read more

Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Great place to picnic or bring the kids to go fishing . There are paddle boats ‍ to rent and a small swim area on the one side. Also, there is an excellent track that extends all the way around the park. Across the street, on New Gallena Road, near the parking lot is the Peace Valley Lavender Farm which, on a warm, breezy day, you just might smell lavender in the air! Don't know any other place where you can find such beauty. read more

How do I even rate a place that has such nostalgia for me as a kid? Let me jump off by saying that I wish we had our own Peace Valley down in DC. Sure, there are plenty of running paths, but none so perfect as a 10k loop around a lake. My memories of Peace Valley consist of walks with my grandmother, bike rides with my dad, trips to the nature center, fishing with my best friend and brother, crying when they both caught fish and I didnt, and family picnics. While I haven't done any of those things in a long time (except maybe crying over a fish), I am now making new memories: I never had run around the entire lake before (I was a fat kid) and now my grown self, with 3 half marathons behind me, trudged around the entire lake. This place just holds many great memories and I'm glad the park is so well maintained and....peaceful! read more

I've been coming to this park for over 15 years and each visit is just so awesome. It's a perfect sized park to spend a few hours or a whole day. Great hiking trails. Excellent birding opportunities. I can literally see over 20 different species each time I go. The loop around the lake is perfect for a bike ride or a long walk. It's just around 6.5 miles all the way around. Love this place, but people it's time to start mowing! The CDC is reporting that tick-borne disease are climbing to astronomical levels in 2018. The grassy pathways behind the nature center are also growing at astronomical levels and even through the benches. read more

Beautiful place to bike or hike. The path is paved and nice to ride on; one section has a steep incline (8 degrees I think) which can be a challenge for some. Plenty of benches to sit and rest if you get tired. My wife and I visited recently and rented kayaks. We had never rented one before and had hoped that the staff would have provided some tips as to what style would be best for beginners (single vs. double). We also thought that, once we had rented the boats, we would have been shown where they were, how to get in them and maybe some pointers on how to best enjoy the lake. Sadly, until we asked where our assigned boats were, we had no idea which boats were ours. My wife found the single kayak to hurt her back as there is very little support. She wound up paddling back to shore after 15 minutes, maybe. We had rented the boats for 2 hours. I paddled around for a little longer but, nowhere near 2 hours; probably not even 30 minutes as I was looking for my wife on the water and returned to shore concerned about her. Still charged for the full 2 hours. We love this park but won't recommend renting kayaks there for first timers. read more

Park as itself is beautiful place. Path around the lake is my favorite running course. Only drawback is parks administration. Nasty people without common sense. They tried to charge 2 families with kids (total of 12 people) $150 as "organized group" fee! If you avoid contact with rangers it's one the most peaceful spots around. read more

Great park! I love how it's a loop! It's about 7 miles of chatting and exercising. Even on a hot day, the wind from lake galena cools you off. There are about two steep hills on the trail so be ready! The nature preserve is neat and has where you can bird watch. I personally like how there are a few different parking lots so you can park on different sides depending on the what you want to do for the day. Kayaking? Walking? Picnic? Sitting? And it's in the middle of no where so watch for deer when traveling to the park. read more

As the name says, it is genuinely a peaceful place. There are trails all around the lake running almost parallel to lake shore, most of the way. The view in the morning is spectacular; a perfect reflection of the sky. There are boats available for rent. The west side of the lake is even more calm and serene. read more

It's lovely for picnics and hiking. So much to see when walking the paths..Fishing is nice. They have boat rentals too and since I like to kayak my review will deal mostly with their mooring process. Hence the 3 stars. So trying to get a mooring spot for your own kayak is next to impossible. They allow those who have moored in the past to re register early... before the public.. okay fine. They have so few new spots open every year it's impossible to get one. Last year I sat out from 0500 that morning ( they opened at 0900). People were camped overnight! ( which is not supposed to be allowed in park property) They had maybe 20-25 spots open and that was it. Well... there are plenty of spots along the lake that they could put in another kayak mooring so more people can sign up. Or... let EVERYONE have a fair shot at getting a spot. If you're one of the many who aren't able to rent a season spot your option is to rent. Just don't try it on a weekend as the # of kayaks are limited so you may think you'll be kayaking that Sat or Sun... but you'll just be waiting in vain. read more

How nice to have a beautiful park that's practically next door! It's earned the 5 stars now bc they've connected the trail! It used to not completely connect all the way around and you had to walk on a road not the safest thing even in the burbs. I look forward to my walks here and it's beautiful especially when you see that lake glistening. Ok the low down of what this park offers besides the view! There's plenty of parking, picnic areas, restrooms, playground, boat rentals (kayaks, sup & paddle boats) and it's very own nature center. There's plenty of people who practice photography from the one end of the lake. The trail is great bc while it is paved there plenty of inclines/declines, shaded/unshaded areas. People bike, run and walk on them. Small little alcoves of beachiness and fishing docks. If your looking for a great day at the park this is a goodie read more

Always a clean and friendly family place to hang out or exercise. Plenty of room for bikes jogging or walking with a roughly 6 miles around the lake. I would say do not try to slip your boat in with paying I have watched them ticket those that try. There are cookout pits and picnic tables throughout the lake and all provide a scenic view. Peace Valley Park is a beautiful place for biking, walking, kayaking, sailing, picnicking. Tuesday, April 28 was a gorgeous day, so my husband and I decided to go for a walk. The drive from Wyncote up Limekiln Pike was beautiful. When we got there, the parking lots were nearly full. Lots of people had the same idea we did. Unfortunately we (and two other people we passed) were the only ones who thought wearing masks made sense under the circumstances, although the Park service strongly recommends that visitor do so. There was no way to keep social distance while walking. people often were walking three abreast and the path isn't wide enough for that. I actually stood on the side and called across to two walkers, "Doesn't Bucks County have any covid 19 cases. No one is wearing masks, and runners and bicyclists are zipping by a foot away from walkers." They told me they hadn't expected so many people. I called the park service. I felt completely unsafe. My mask protects others from me, if I unknowingly have the virus, but I still have a 70% chance of getting the virus if one of the hundreds of unmasked walkers, runners, etc. have it unknowingly. Please close this park until people get common sense and don't use the park unless you can actually maintain distance. Another possibility: WEAR A MASK. I felt like I was in a covid virus experiment. We didn't stay long when we realized how foolish these people were being. Under normal circumstances, this park is a five star experience. Right now it's an outbreak waiting to happen. read more

When I'm out in the sticks of PA with a snowflake, we like to run. This place is quiet, has great serene views and has many small hills which will gas you if you're not fit. I am a beast, so I'm good to go. Let me leave you with a lil NWA ditty while I go blast 4 miles in 28 minutes. Runnin' with my brothers, headed for the homebase. With a steady pace on the face that just we raced. The road ahead goes on and on. The shit is gettin' longer than the mutherfuckin' marathon. Runnin' on but never runnin' out. A very popular park to visit around this area. The path is a couple miles long all the way around the pond, which is great for runners and walkers. Beautiful place to get in some exercise around the 7ish mile loop. They updated the loop so you no longer have to walk on the road and instead walk through the trees. The path is wide enough for people to pass you on bikes without you have to dodge into the grass. There are two buildings with restrooms available on the trail along with a nature center. You can rent different water sport activity there including kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. Its truly a great place to spend the day. read more

A lovely, picturesque park surrounding Lake Galena, and frankly one of my favorite outdoor spots in Bucks County. The scenic lake was formed by damming a branch of the Neshaminy Creek to create a reservoir. Incidentally, the name, Galena, reflects the area's history as a lead mining village, long before the area was flooded to create the reservoir. The six miles of flat trails around the lake are a great place for a relaxing walk or a quick run, especially when hiking trails elsewhere in the region are waterlogged and mucky. The trails here are also great for the directionally challenged--absolutely no way to get lost on your walk/run! No need to fret about your poor map-reading abilities or your inability to use GPS. Neither skill is necessary in this user-friendly park. Not an option today, but when the weather is warmer, I love to come out here to kayak or just have a picnic. read more

This is a great park with a nice long trail to walk around Lake Galena. We regularly bring our dog on this walk, and while she is tired at the end, she enjoys stepping into the lake, seeing and sights, and meeting other dogs. The path around the lake is mix of shade and extreme sun, so you'll want to wear your sunscreen. The other thing to keep in mind is that in the fall and spring, it can be windier than you expect (I suppose because of the lake) so it often seems chillier than it is at home. There are not a lot of bathroom options around the lake. In fact the only one I know of for certain is on the side of the lake where houses line the road. There also aren't many opportunities to hydrate, so I recommend bringing your own water. The path can get crowded mid-afternoon on nice days -- it's best to set out by around noon or earlier to beat most of the crowds. It's a fun place to go and spend a few hours -- not to be missed if your local to Doylestown. read more

I love Peace Valley Park!! I recently discovered this park and have been enjoying it ever since. It's perfect for a run, bike ride, walk, picnic or to spend time on the lake. As many people have mentioned the loop around is 6 miles and a great workout. It's mostly flat but does have one pretty good incline and it a great mix of woods vs lake views and dirt vs paved path. It's not boring at all and a nice mix of sun and shade as well! read more
