Nice cozy park to relax in. We came here just to sit and talk and relax. I enjoyed my stay there. It's a nice little area with benches surrounded by trees and grass that was intimate and gorgeous. I would definitely go back. Matter of fact this was my second time there in a single week. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and time I spent in this location. I only saw one side of the park. The side I was on looked like the side for family cookouts and family time. It had an icecream truck on this side too. Next time I go there, I will check out a different area of the park.

I played probably my favorite game of baseball ever at this park. In High School I played for Holy Spirit, and we won states. My favorite memory is we all swarmed the field and created a dog pile on the mound. I remember the last play was a ground ball hit to short and thrown to first. I was catching so I ran over to back up first base, and jumped into the dog pile.

There is a little board walk through the woods Which is really beautiful and I had to share this picture.

Really beautiful park and the nature is really enjoyable to walk through. Highly recommend for a date or just a walk through the park. Keep in mind there is some geese poop near the lake though which is like land mines but overall it's a really nice park.

I always love going to this park. There's a lot of paved trails and some dirt trails too. It covers a lot of land too and has a big playground area in it. Almost forgot about the dog park as well which has separate fenced off sides for small dogs and larger dogs.

The best park in Hamilton! There is soooo much to do. Skate park, volleyball nets, tennis court, running track, walk through the woods, a dog park. Plenty of parking space and it is very, very well kept. If you take a stroll through the woods in the back, staying on the path that veers left, you will eventually hit a beautiful lake. There's a gazebo back there along with a few benches and it is just the perfect spot to have some R&R time to yourself or go with a friend to sit and enjoy the views and fresh air. The wooded paths are well marked and easy to navigate and there are maps throughout the trail. I would, however, advise caution exploring this park on your own after it gets dark. It is a rather large park and for that reason it's probably safe to travel with others if you'll be here after the sun sets. Otherwise - enjoy all the things you can do in this beautiful park during daylight hours !! If you're lucky, you may even catch some wildlife out there such as deer and some ducks that like to hang out and sun bathe around the lake.

I finally rode my bike to the park I didn't drive in! Love the bike trails I did get lost once but I will keep going until I know all entrances and exits. Beautiful park good to go early before the crowds. Boobie

Ah, with all of this snow in the weather forecast, my thoughts turn to Veteran's Park. This absolute gem of a park is far and away my favorite in Hamilton. With miles of well-marked paved and "off road" trails, tons of sports fields, children's playgrounds, gazebos and picnic areas with grills, a skate park AND a dog park, an RC airplane runway and well maintained facilities, a park-goer would be hard pressed to ask for much more. In a town as flat as Hamilton, it also possess one of the best sledding areas in town along the lake. They even install rope hand-lines to help the children (and some adults!) make the climb back to the top of the ridge a bit easier. All of this plus a number of genuine military artifacts scattered throughout the park (the larger pieces are an F4 Phantom, a WWI artillery piece, a Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter and what I believe is a Korean War era tank) along with the somewhat newly-dedicated Naval Wall by the western entrance make Veterans Park a great visit for children and adults alike!

Such a lovely, dreamy park! This is a place you think about when falling in love or being at peace with the world. I loved the lushness, animals and sweet flowers. We saw geese & their fuzzy babies, a raccoon and a baby groundhog. Besides the walking trails, there are also gazebos and a ton of great photo opps!

It's amazing how much Veterans Park has to offer for being a municipal park. It rivals some State Parks. At over 300 acres, Veterans Park is huge. The playground area is massive and the park even has museums. Fireworks are shot off for 4th of July and Septemberfest is held in late summer.

As far a parks go, this one just isn't for me. Not enough BBQs, some more water front would be nice, and a lot more birds are needed.

I…read moredrive 20 minutes to come here as a treat for my dogs, as it's the largest dog park I know of and has some great off-leash allowed walking space as well. There is basically 4 different areas in this park - a small dog area, 2 large dog areas and a short wooded path that you can walk on with your dog. Sometimes I've been here where they close half the larger dog area, I'm not sure why this is. In the parking lot, there is a port-a-john for us humans, and trash can/doggie bags for the pups. Everyone seems to be really responsible here with their dog which is a major benefit. Some cons: - can be muddy after rain - no trash cans or bags provided inside the park area, only before you enter the park - sometimes they close half the park (I don't know why this is?) - limited seating/benches for humans

Typically always pleasant experiences with the people and other dogs. As long as people follow the rules that is... However, I have to include an important warning for those in the small dog section about the trees above that drop these fairly large rock-solid chestnuts at unexpected periods of time at lightning speeds!! One of these suckers hit my 10 pound shitzu in the back pretty hard and she was yelping in pain/fear! :(

The name of the page should actually read "John A Roebling Park/Abbot Marshlands", as the surrounding marshlands and its trails make up the bulk of what you'll see, and provides a home for many of the creatures living at the park. It's perfect for a walk to help get in your 10K steps, and you've a great mix of wooded and marsh dwelling wildlife to view. The trails are smooth and easy to walk on. I especially like the trail on the Island portion of the park, as it's completely forested and you can easily walk the entire circular route without encountering another soul. If you're like me and prefer to walk in a park without encountering someone every 30-seconds, this is your place. I wouldn't say the park is quiet, the background buzz of cars on 295 is ever present, but with a breeze and rustling leaves, you really don't notice it unless you try to notice it. That said, if you're at the picnic area--which is actually pretty nice--you're going to hear the traffic. If you have questions about some of the wildlife you see there, the helpful people at the adjacent Tulpehaking Nature Center are very knowledgeable about all things fauna.

The park is a good size, with about 3.5 miles of trails. It is part of the larger Abbott Marshlands nature preserve along the Delaware River. Roebling Park's central feature is the beautiful Spring Lake which has a trail looping around it. Waterfowl like swans and ducks can frequently be seen on the lake. The best times to go are in the fall, winter, and spring; humidity and bugs come out of the marshes in full force during the summer. Being an urban park, there are paths connecting directly to the street grid in several places. There are also a couple of entrances with dedicated parking lots. The historic White City Mansion, with its grand old stone staircase, is located by the Sewell Ave parking lot. Even on a nice day, Roebling is much less busy than its larger and better-maintained counterpart Mercer County Park, a 15 minute drive away. It's nice if you prefer a little peace and quiet while walking the trails. Unfortunately Roebling also feels a bit neglected by the county, with some litter and overgrown trails in areas. If it were taken care of better, it would easily be a 5/5 park.
