    Dogwood tree on walking path
    Suzanne A.

I haven't been in here in years but I'm glad I stopped! The park is less than 3 minutes from I-95 Street Road exit. I had an errand up that way and was looking for a place to walk the dog. Dogs are permitted but must be on leashed at all times. A large parking lot, bathrooms, lots of picnic tables and grills are located by the entrance. There are several different paved walking paths. One walking path goes along the Delaware River. There are small beaches to sit on. No swimming obviously. Lots of shade from all the trees keeps it from being too hot. I was there on a nice Spring Tuesday. There were enough people to feel safe but not too crowded. It can get really crowded on weekends. The park has a large in ground pool with slides and a small sprinkler park that are open in the summer. The pool can get crowded.

Wound up having breakfast not far from this park this morning so we decided to sit in the park afterwards. We didn't do a walk or anything, but we sat at a picnic table and talked for over an hour. It's an active park-lots of people walking, biking and/or walking their dogs. Friendly people too! Very nice.

A true proletariat park, especially on the Saturday evening we visited. There was not enough time to explore very much of it, but if in the area( on a weekday preferably) I'd love to revisit and eventually post a more thorough review.

Neshaminy State Park is one of the best parks, from every thing to cooking out with a bunch of family and freinds to just hanging and bringing your kids to have a fun time strolling thru the park, if it's eaither biking along or just taking a walk. It's always fun. You have the Delaware River right in front of you to some days enjoy the nice breeze or just sit and watch the big size boats come by. Or the play area for the kids to enjoy. And in the summer time they have a built in size pool that everyone can enjoy for a price $$$$$ but is worth going swimming. I always enjoy every year they have the Civil War reenactment. which is always fun and so many people show up to enjoy the fun activities. You appreciate how they keep up with the park and how clean it always is.

Took the boys to throw the football around. They have great areas for that. And unlike the city you can kick your shoes off and run around in the grass. I love this place. It was an awesome time. Always beautiful. Mosquitoes were pretty bad today. But who can control that tide came in so I didn't get a chance to sit by my favorite tree in the sand. Infact that path was blocked off due to the recent storms.. will always recommended. Oh the BBQ section was blocked off too.

Stopped here today for the SPIN boo and brew 5k. There is an ample amount of parking and nice trails. There were a bunch of park rangers as well. We liked having the canopy because of the rain. Overall good experience here. The beach area along the river is the best part.

It's not my favorite park, but it's close to home...so it works when I'm in a pinch for time. A very kid and pet friendly place. There's a huge playground, volley ball net, bathrooms, swimming pool (that is open during certain hours, 8 bucks for the day), lots of picnic tables, as well as grilling capabilities. I often see a lot of birthday parties happening when I come here for a walk. The paved path area isn't very extensive, but if you go in the wooded area, that could keep you occupied for a little while. It's a pretty clean place.

I visit this park at least once a week. Absolutely beautiful. Community pool in the summer, picnic areas, playground, and tons of tails. Lots of groundhogs, deers, and other wild life.

My LC Mommas always loves going to the park and practically pulling me to the little beach on the river!! #bulldoglovers

Intro to Rock Climbing with Valley to Summit on September 18, 2022…read more This was my second trip to Chickies Rock with VTS and it was wonderful! There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! I highly recommend Valley to Summit, this being my 3 rd trip with them. They Rock!

Absolutely amazing professional guides!!…read more I hired this company to guide me through the winters treacherous water fall trails of Ricketts Glen that is normally closed off for hikers that don't have the explicitly specific required safety gear for winter hikes which this company provides. The guides were patient and helpful with the small group in getting gear on and going over all the safety equipment. They were never impatient with anyone and insanely kind. You could tell the guides truly enjoyed bringing everyone out to this amazing trail at Ricketts Glen State Park. I wasn't sure what to expect but OMG it was worth the money spent to have these guys/gals guide me through the trails. I took tons of pictures and was never rushed at all while taking in the views and photos. This company comes highly recommended amongst the hiking community even out of state.

I visited on a weekday and perhaps that made all the difference in the world. My experience form beginning to end was fantastic. I think one thing that seems to bother most people is the BBQ lunch. The BBQ lunch was apart of my package and when I arrived they were just loading the buns to be taken out on the river. I'm getting a little ahead of myself here but you'll understand in a minute. When I arrived, there were already several eager adventurous folks checking in, buying waterproof items for sale, collecting their water rafts and some even already on the water. I checked in with my Groupon and as directed, I left my keys - collected my Kayak and proceeded to the bus. Please note, the rule is, everyone must wear a mask until you're actually on the water; great rule as it gets crowded in the shop as well as on the bus. It keeps everyone safe. I chose the kayak experience which was awesome but the real fun is in a tube. After my journey down the river, I immediately purchase another Groupon just so that I could come back and have a tubing experience. So, back to the BBQ lunch. By the time I paddles my way down (a few signs for the waters edge for direction) to the BBQ shack on the water, they were still setting up. I guess I paddle too fast. I decided to keep moseying down the river as I had already packed a lunch just in case after reading the reviews about the BBQ shack not being up and running. Oh well, next time I'll enjoy a burger. Again, this is the perfect mid week escape. The ride outside of NY is quick and there's plenty of parking. Although it says Delaware tubing it's actually located in New Jersey; well at least the border between the two. I would recommend going early and taking as much time as you like in a tube with family and friends. I would also recommend bringing children as they will develop a lifelong love of being on the water. I'm a big fan now and I can't wait to return in a few weeks. P.S. I was told by my bus driver, they offer a fall foliage experience where they only allow kayaks on the river.

He is very knowledgeable about the area where we went (Delaware water gap) and knew the hiking trail well too. I like how the size of the group wasn't too big so it was easier to get to know more people. Everyone was really excited to get some nice fresh air and exercise and of course visit a brewery! The hike was a moderate trail with some bigger hills up and down and a lot of rocks to watch your footing on. After the hike we were all hungry and ready for some beer. We stopped at Jersey Girl brewing where we all had flights and got a little tour of the place where all the action happens! The only criticism I have is with the lunch. It was very simple: chips, pickles, and homemade sandwiches with meat and cheese. There were a few vegetarian options but it was very heavy on the bread overall. I would love to see some kind of healthier alternative like a quinoa or lentil dish, which I would be happy to help with!

Once the whole hike was done, we drove over to the brewery and Dave got pizza for everyone. Such a great time and arrived back at the time we expected Definitely would recommend and can't wait to go on another adventure!!

Nothing notable to report but not overwhelmingly great either. The last time I went with the Boy Scouts was one of the worst weekends of my life. There was some river guide who named himself "zombie". He has the worst chip on this shoulder ever. First, he got nearly naked on the bus clearly wanting to show off all his tattoos. Inappropriate in front of a bunch of kids. If he was discreet then fine. He was showboating and it was gross. Then while on the river, I splashed with a paddle. It is indeed against the rules and I was wrong for that. However I knew I messed up the second I did it. A reminder would have been sufficient. Oh no. Zombie came over immediately and berated me loudly in front of everyone (including the kids). Yikes. I said "understood, I'm sorry". He then continued saying he was "gonna hike me out of 'his' trip" if he saw it again. What? He was going to evict me from the boat in the middle of nowhere and walk me home? Alone? What the hell is wrong with this guy? I don't care how capable or good of a river guide he is. If he's going to talk to customers who paid for the trip like garbage, then he doesn't belong there (especially around kids). Major jerk. Then we camped there overnight. Some camp site decided to have a rager party. Like thumping music turned up to full volume that could be heard for miles. No one came to quiet them down. At midnight I had to walk over myself and ask if they could please let us sleep. They said no and it kept going. I called the campsite phone # and got a voicemail. No one was there to help. Needless to say we didn't sleep at all. Just a generally unpleasant experience. You need to get rid of this zombie person. You can't call yourself "zombie" then demand to be taken seriously. Give me a break. You need someone who can patrol the campsite and keep order and the campers safe. Don't go here and waste your money.
