Beautiful park, lots of good places to walk and explore nature, good fishing spot, good place for pictures

Stopped at the rental office . Nicest, most helpful staff!! We rented a paddle boat for an hour . It was absolutely delightful to paddle along the lake Luxembourg. All kinds of birds : geese , eagles, ducks, cardinals, blue jay, Robin, wrens, cranes !!! So many Lovely birds enjoying life on the lake. Turtle and frogs peeking.oodles and oodles of sassy ol' Fish jumpin high and flapping that crazy fish hip. I wish I had my ukelele with me. I'd write a song about this sweet morning. How delightful. We woke up and had our exercise & really enjoyed every flipping precious curve of the fine lake. All the nature. Shades of green , the passing fragrance of honeysuckle!! Ooo La La. We brought our brand new inflatable kayak over the weekend to Core Creek Park for a few hours of paddling in the lovely weather. As we were launching, a sign by the ramp stated that a permit was required to launch. I went to the Staff shack nearby and a young man was very helpful and took all the information and issued the permit. I was ready to give him my credit card for the permit fee and he asked if I was over 60 years of age. I said yes and he gave me the permit sticker for free! How many park people would do that?! read more

We just held my daughter's wedding there. The total cost for a memorable and magical day? About $500. The pavilion rental was $70 for the day and came with a beautiful lake view, quiet and peaceful. We could have brought in chairs and tents for an additional $95 insurance fee. However, we went back to our house for the reception. I would highly recommend this for anyone who does not want to pay a small fortune a single days' event. The pavilion holds 60 people. We had about 20 there comfortably. read more

What's not to love about this park? You have paddle boat rentals, canoeing, boat rentals, areas to have picnics and feed the ducks. There are other areas of the park where you had walk your dogs and trails to get some miles in for the day. You can take in the beauty of nature and just sit by the lake and read a good book. I have been coming to this park for years and have been bringing my daughter since she was about 9 months old. We usually come with hoagies from WAWA and throw a blanket down on the grass and sit by the water enjoying the sun. There have been a few times that we rented boats and paddle boats with our family and went out on the water with life vests to get some leg exercise in and take in the scenery that surrounds us. This would be a good spot to go on a date with someone new also- or can rent the paddle boat for 30 minutes for 25 dollars which isn't too bad. And they provide the life vests. read more

We were headed to the Delaware & Raritan State Park, fishing area close to Trenton, but the area was closed for fishing in the river. The employee there suggested this park which was only about 15 min away and said the fishing was perfect for the kids there. We kind of thought it was odd she suggested Pennsylvania (vs another NJ park) but we didn't arrive with a backup plan so we took her suggestion and headed across the bridge. This is a Bucks County Park and is not as well maintained as any of the PA state parks. We arrived to garbage cans overflowing, litter everywhere, broken fences and overgrown weeds. We made the best of it and found a nice little shaded spot near the lake. Again, litter everywhere, to the point I felt the need to pick it up and carry it out. As for the fishing, the NJ state park ranger didn't lie. All three of my kids caught nice sized fish within an hour. The lake is clear of debris and the fish were biting. There is plenty of space for sports, bbq's and you can rent boats here. Overall, this is a nice community park. It definitely needs some love though. Don't trash your parks! read more

Core Creek Park is a beautiful Bucks County park with lots to do. The lake is gorgeous and you can rent canoes and paddle boats. The park has covered picnic areas as well as other places to sit throughout the park. The walking paths wind through the park and is great for exercise as well as riding bikes. The park also has a dog park which is well maintained and quite spacious. Core Creek Park is definitely worth a visit. read more

Core creek park is a great place to come and enjoy a nice summer day. Our daughter has been asking for a picnic so today we traveled up and made a day out of it. First off the park is beautiful and well maintained. Bucks County park system does a wonderful job of keeping it clean. It's also a very safe place to be, there are always Park Rangers around. It's a great place for runners, boaters, kids, all types of activities. Today we rented the paddle boats. At 6'5" it's a tight squeeze to work the pedals, we made it work. The prices to rent are great! $15.00 for and half hour and $26.00 for the hour. You can even do entire day rentals. They offer kayak, paddle boats and small john boats. The kids working the boat area aren't the most personable. They only offer one small playground for the kids! I was surprised there was only one and it wasn't very large. There are ample amounts of restrooms and the two we used were nice and clean. It's a great place to kill a summer day. We will return! Solid 4 stars. read more

This park isn't huge, buts it big enough to enjoy most of the day there. There's a few good trails, and about three playgrounds for the kids (two small ones at the Dutchess parking area), also a fairly new dog park if you want to bring your furry friends. My only big complaint is that their lake is very poorly stocked, and fishing is no fun here. Though maybe I'm mistaken since a few great blue herons live and thrive there, assuming on fish. But I've never seen a fish there. Otherwise this is a very clean, well kept park. It's not as magnificent as Tyler Park to the north but it's a good time. read more

I love core creek park! It has everything you need boating, walking trails, picnic tables and grills, play areas with jungle gyms, basketball courts and an off leash dog park. The boating prices are more than reasonable. You can rent a row boat, kayak and other water vehicles for less than $20.00 for 1 hour. The lake itself is beautiful regardless of what time of year you visit. I like to wonder into the woods a bit with my dog and have a picnic by the lake. read more

Core Creek Park is part of the Bucks County Parks system, and it is the largest county park in lower Bucks County. It is a great place for families, joggers, dog owners, casual boaters, fisherpeople, and folks who just want a place to mellow-out in a pretty, natural setting. It is very well landscaped, with trails, and a nice manmade lake from the flow of Core Creek. There is even a leash-less dog park. You can rent a canoe or paddleboat by the hour or half day, or bring your own small craft (no motors) and buy a launch permit for a few bucks. Be forewarned that if you are over 6' you will have a problem fitting into the paddle boat and working the bicycle-like leg churners that power the craft. In good weather, the park fills with large family gatherings for picnics. There are acres of areas with large trees and green lawns for your selection. While much smaller and more tame than Tyler State Park a few miles away, Core Creek Park is a very good facility for bringing people close to nature. The more you visit and find your favorite spot away from others, the more you will return and make the park your back yard. read more

Gorgeous and HUGE park! I came here more out of curiosity than anything, assuming it was a tiny place and then walked and walked and walked finding new things to do. You can rent a canoe for $25 for the hour, fish, BBQ, picnic, play soccer or basketball or just read a book under the shade right along the creek. It really is a peaceful place. I have only come in the afternoon when it isn't too crowded and there are plenty of picnic tables open, but I imagine it gets pretty packed since they even have Overflow parking available. I would go as far as saying this is a great place for a cheap outdoor wedding. They even have a hidden pavilion for pictures by the creekside and a huge area to gather people under a tent. Get out there and enjoy mother nature folks! read more

It was a little crowded with people, but since its big we were still able to find a nice place to sit near the creek and enjoy. Went there yesterday for the first time. My boyfriend and I loved it. It's such a pretty park with so many views. We didn't get to stay to long but we will definitely be making this a weekly routine. I came to this park a lot as a kid. My fondest memory was the cat gang that was always squatting near the playground. Years went by before I would visit again and I mentioned to someone how all these cats used to be there- all the time. Some old lady was keeping them fed. It was kind of weird when I showed up 15 years later to see that the cat pride is still strong, maybe stronger than before...and someone practically built them a village. How has no one mentioned this in all these reviews? Hah. So there's one portion of the park where you'll see a ton of cats. Other than that, this park is pretty decent. Lots of wandering to do in the woods, which is something I always love. It's gorgeous in the winter when it snows and the water freezes over. I tested my luck walking on it last year after I saw guys dabbling in some ice fishing. It isn't my top park, but a cool place to swing by when I want to change things up. read more

Core Creek Park is an awesome little place in the summertime. It's got a pretty full list of offerings as far as public parks go, which includes tennis courts, horseback riding trails, and seasonal ice-skating, fishing and boating. My favorite part about this park is the boat rental, which ranges from $10 to $20 an hour depending on the type or $50 to $70 for the whole day. If you've got your own boat or kayak, you can also purchase a launch permit. This place is absolutely perfect if you're an outdoor workout junkie. In the warm weather you can get in a really great workout using their bikeways, hiking trails and playground equipment, and then renting a single kayak for only $6 for a half-hour. That's less than you would pay for a guest pass at most gyms! And really, who wants to be inside when the weather is beautiful anyway? Their restrooms are usually well-maintained, the parking lot has plenty of space, and there's a snack shop in the boat rental area. You can usually grab up some good picnic spots as well, if you're more into relaxing than breaking a sweat. But this place is so functional, you could always make a day of it and do both! read more

I've been going to this park for quite some time now and I have to say it is easily one of my favorite places to go. Its a clean, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. There are so many things on can do at this park, too. Its great for a picnic, walk or a place to let your kids run around. Im fairly certain you can still rent paddle boats to go out in the water in the summer time as well. If you're a fan of walking along trails this is the place for you. The park is quite large and has many paths to go through. Just today I found one that led me directly behind a huge corn field, which I also took a little stroll through. Its amazingly fun to lose track of time and just enjoy the beautiful outdoors. read more

I love Core Creek Park. I have hiked all the woods around the lake for decades now. But, there is one MAJOR problem. It is time to get rid of the NASTY CATS. The disgusting houses are everywhere. You cant walk without seeing cats. They Stink. The filthy houses are everywhere. I will not let mu kids go there anymore do to the urine and feces everywhere. SAVE THE PARK. I haven't fully explored Core Creek but it's a beautiful, well maintained park easily accessible from Route 1. There's a nice, paved trail for running/walking/biking, a soccer field and 2 basketball courts. There are a few open fields and tons of space around the lake - great for picnics or just laying out, playing frisbee, flying kites, etc. There's a few picnic pavilions scattered throughout the park, each with grills and picnic tables. There's also a boathouse for kayak/canoe/rowboat/paddle boat rentals which I've yet to check out. The possibilities are endless here. It's a great park! read more

Huge park. I mean we got lost trying to find the dog park huge. The signage could be better to direct you where to go. But with that said it is a great park that has a lot of options besides the dog park. There is a boating area where you can bring your own or rent boats or kayaks. There are lots of pavilions so if you want to have an outdoor gathering you are all set. There are soccer fields, baseball, playground, and so on. Also the bathroom facilities are nice. Downside to the dog park is that it is not free. It requires a yearly membership fee which gives you a key card to get in. read more

This place has seen better days. Lake Luxembourg itself is quite pretty and they have reasonable boat rental facilities open during the season. There are some paved trails for runners and mostly walkers, judging by the crowd. One of the main attractions are the BBQ pavilions during the summer, when people rent out space for parties and other events. Some open spaces and fields add a leisurely feel to the park. The downsides are the rangers are lazy. Trees knocked over onto the paths are not removed, rubbish bins always overfilled, crazy cat ladies feeding hundreds of stray cats and stinking of cat litter abound. The dog park has added a strange refuge from this stinking morass of cats, however, now an infernal barking and bevy of pickup trucks greets the visitor at a certain entrance. I recommend skipping down to the boathouse and avoiding the pet sanatarium. read more

This is a really nice, large park up in Langhorne where my boyfriend and I like to go to hang out, read, take walks, etc. He also plays flag football in a league here. This is a really nice place just to chill, although I wish there was a bit more shade. It's about 1200 acres, and it also has a cute little lake. It's really nice in the fall. In all, this is a fantastic community space, where you can have a bbq, party, play sports, or just hang out. Just bring sunscreen. read more

Core Creek is an amazing park, with lots of cool things to do. Plenty of paved trails, boat rentals, a very clean playground for kids, 5 pavilions, etc. They do have a dog park, but you have to have a membership. The dog park is divided into two sections, one for little dogs (under 40lbs) and one for big dogs. The owners are pretty inattentive with their dogs, which is a bit scary -but most of the dogs are well behaved. The secret gem is the wooded path that rounds the back of the reservoir. This can be located by driving around the lake in the opposite direction of the boat docks. To the right, you will see a road that drives up hill. There is plenty of parking on the right, and at the bottom of this road, a wooded path leads to some quieter fishing docks, as well as a really long walking/biking path that ropes around the back of the lake. This path takes about 2 hours to complete walking, and has some awesome views! read more

I wish they would bring back the Christmas Light Show, which would run for several weeks through the Christmas season. $5/carload to see their beautiful Christmas light display. Money collected would benefit the underprivileged. I understand disgruntled neighbors complained about the stream of cars passing through the park, until they were forced to discontinue this wonderful holiday event. read more

True to the four star suggestion, I am indeed a true "fan" of Core Creek Park. I come here frequently, multiple times per week actually. It's funny, considering that Core Creek is just next door, I suppose I always took for granted its expansive size and untouched nature. My old manager at the place I used to work at told me she would come here, she lives in Northeast Philly, and sprawl a blanket out under the sun and enjoy the peace and quiet. She called it her little secret, and as I said, I take Core Creek for granted, but it is definitely unspoiled and it could easily become someone's secret hideaway. The park has a lot of wood trails, paved trails (for biking/jogging, etc), it is never all that crowded. A lot of the pavilions are utilized in advance by family celebrations and clubs, but you will for sure always be able to find your own quiet spot, no matter the day of the week. read more

How am I just hearing about this place?! I absolutely loved it here. Just a thirty minute trip from my house and I felt like I entered a whole new world. The park is huge, well maintained, and the views of the lake are stunning. Went with my sons ages 2 and 11 and we rented a paddle boat for $15 for thirty minutes. It was awesome! Liked the playground and basketball courts too. A must visit if you are looking for a relaxing day under the sun. read more

The park is beautiful and I see a lot of people point out that you can rent boats. Well, beware - I don't think the rowboats have been maintained since they were purchased. The oarlock pivots are so worn out its impossible to keep the oar in the proper position to move efficiently. Not to mention that the boats were full of water. Really? Clean the boats up every once in a while guys. $25 per hour isn't necessarily a bargain for this kind quality. read more

Went here to try out the two basketball courts I saw listed......waste of my time. Neither one is playable and both have been seriously neglected. All of the rims are very crooked and bent down significantly. The pavement hasn't been redone in years and has grass growing throughout it. Hopefully they put the time into redoing it because a decent outdoor court in this area would be great addition to the park. read more

I love Core Creek Park. My husband is from the area and introduced the park to me after we purchased a book (60 Hikes within 60 Miles of Philly) and this place is amazing! We have walked, biked, and spent hours at the park for boy scout things. They have tons to offer and you can even rent a kayak or paddle boat (which we did for Mother's Day) and spend an hour on the lake or even a half a day. Just remember to keep track of your time since you do have to make your way back to the docks. They were pretty understanding when we came back in a couple minutes after our hour but I am sure they have policies for time longer then that. read more
