This park is right off Bristol Road on an old air base and you couldn't possibly miss it. It's a spot that will please people of all sorts, as there is quite a bit to do. There is a pretty long track that runs along the perimeter of the place, with exercise spots along the way. I believe it says it's about 2.5 miles, which is great if you're trying to keep some accountability. You'll even get to see the abandoned neighborhood through some of the fencing as you walk, which is kind of cool to see. This place also has a dog park within it, as well as a huge playground. It's a great spot to bring the kids, but make them go to the bathroom beforehand. The restrooms are locked for the winter and the porta potties aren't in great shape. If you find yourself wondering across the street, there is another park (Munro) that offers another playground and a place for the skateboarders to let loose. If you know what geocaching is, you will also be able to partake in some of that. Most people I encounter absolutely love this park. Great for runners, bladers, and bikers. For me personally, I enjoy places that are a little more quiet and have nature trails. This place works though.

Its nearly 15 acres has a kids playground, ball fields, fishing pond, gazebo and restrooms (currently closed due to Covid-19). It is a pleasant public space designed for family use. On this beautiful Sunday in June it was quiet. Parents with young children were primarily at the playground, while kids old enough to handle a fishing rod were practicing their casting into the pond. Teenagers were seen farther out along the trails congregating in small groups. To each his own. We walked along the paved pathway over Pine Run Creek to be able to reach Old Ironhill Road and the northern approach to the covered bridge. There was some traffic, so we waited until it was clear and safe to walk through the hemlock and pine span to to the end. From there, we walked along Pine Run a bit to see what flora and fauna it had to offer. Didn't see much, but the gurgling stream was relaxing. Completing the circuit, we strolled back into the center of the park where the car was parked. Our plan was to go next to Peace Valley Park, but when we arrived it was so crowded we decided not to stop because it would have been impossible to maintain safe social distancing, and so many there were not wearing masks. Just not worth the risk.

There's also a bathroom on site, but recently it's been closed due to Covid-19, not sure if it's opened up again. Parking lot is next to the school. Plenty of spaces available. Overall great park. Deer, rabbits and a variety of birds are frequently present. What I really like about the park is when the sunlight hits the trees just so, it's really beautiful, and, the multiple little hills make for a good leg workout. The main path is only about a mile and a quarter around, so a couple of goes and you've done a few miles.

It hosts a big soccer fields and open area for playing, kite flying, frisbee, or practicing catch. It gets crowded in the afternoons with games. Plenty of parking. Dogs are welcomed and sadly quite often off leash. So be aware of bringing your furry friend. No facilities, just clean fresh air and foliage.
