Met family for breakfast last week and it was the first time for all of us and we left underwhelmed. The cinnamon rolls were delicious but my biscuit with egg, cheese and sausage was dry, hard and cold. There were enough seeds on someone's avocado toast for two orders and the drip coffee was bitter. Tried this place for the first time first time today and we were blown away! We tried all 3 of the chicken sandwiches and they were all awesome. Very crispy and juicy at the same time. I usually don't like coleslaw but it was the perfect touch on these sandwiches and the pickles tasted homemade. The fries were fresh and the fried cauliflower and Mac and cheese are a must try! The food quality was good, I got chicken nuggets and Mac and cheese. The chicken nuggets were good, similar to chick fli a but I would say maybe a tiny step up, but not much. The Mac and cheese was very cheesy and did taste good. HOWEVER, portion sizes are tinyyyy especially compared to what you are actually paying. No frills place for fried chicken and baked goods. The Plaza Midwood location doesn't have indoor seating unlike the one up in Davidson. This one is simply a walk-up window with some outside patio seating. Service was fast and staff was friendly. I ordered the classic chicken sandwich - fried chicken, mayo, pickles and slaw. I thought the value for $10 was nice. The filet on my sandwich was pretty thick but the actual sandwich itself was just average to me. The real star of the show is their ranch sauce that I slapped on my burger. Tangy, herby, incredible. Sides come a la cart here. We split some fries. Did the job but nothing memorable. We also each got donuts. They have a a few different options. I opted for the classic glazed which had a really fresh flavor. You could tell these were made with quality ingredients. We tried this today for lunch and we're less than impressed. Disclaimer: We got it to go and it was about 30 minute drive back home. Our family tried the grilled chicken sandwich, original chicken sandwich, and hot dipped sandwich. For our sides, we got fries, Mac and cheese, and coleslaw. We also tried donuts for dessert. First off, the Mac and cheese was missing from our order, so we didn't get to try that! The coleslaw (which cost $4) came in a small condiment cup. It was about 2 bites (that's $2 a bite!!) and was average. The fries were cold and soft (likely due to the 30 minute drive) so I popped them in the air fryer to crisp them up. That definitely helped and they were tasty but akin to what you can get anywhere. My wife and I split both the original and Hot dip chicken sandwiches. The original was tasty and thick patty. It was very similar to McDonald's crispy chicken sandwich. The hot dipped chicken didn't have much spice at all. It tasted very similar to the original but messier due to the slaw. I didn't try the grilled chicken, but those that did thought it was equally average. They commented that the mayo was a little spicy (maybe I could've used some of that on my Hot Dipped.) the donuts were probably the best part of the meal. We tried the chocolate and the pumpkin spice and we were satisfied with both. All in all, nothing we had was worth the $75 bill or the 50 minute wait for our food. Disappointing. They forgot to include the salad dressing in my takeout order. The portion was skimpy. I would have appreciated the lettuce being cut up more, so pieces were bite sized rather than giant leaves. Otherwise, it was fresh and tasty. read more

Food was just okay. I got the OG chicken sandwich, fries and chai tea iced. First, not like Starbucks, they have a measuring system so when I said little ice for the chai it decreased in volume in the cup(almost half full) instead of them adding more milk or chai. Second, if you want extra sauce like ranch or honey mustard it's extra. I hate when companies do that, if I'm already buying food it should just come with it. Lastly, the sandwich was missing something and it wasn't the freshest (definitely wasn't white meat, or at least consistently) I'm not that much of a fan of crinkle cut fries so I'm pretty bias on that.
