What an awesome little spot tucked in the middle of Plaza Midwood! I came on Friday night around 7pm and shared the meat pizza and a bottle of pinot grigot. Luckily there was enough parking on site and we found a nice table outside after placing our order at the counter and grabbing a bottle from the fridge. Love the wide selection of beer and wine available here. Decor is nice - bright, open, spacious. And service is fast/friendly. The pizza itself was delicious, and the wine was crisp, cold and the perfect start to the weekend! I will definitely be back. @azfitfoodfun

This place is super cute! Part bodega and part bar/restaurant. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the pork cheeks and a pizza. The pork cheeks are soooo good! There is a side patio for outdoor dining when the weather is nice. There is a small parking lot in front that holds about 10 cars. Will definitely be back to try more menu items!

A much needed addition to the neighborhood! Great food. Casual atmosphere. Great cocktails. Friendly service. We will be back again and again. The pizza is great and I love the kale salad.

We accidentally found this place when our favorite deli was closed for the night and we will not be going back to our favorite deli because we found a new favorite spot to eat when we're in Charlotte! This place absolutely lives up to its promise of REAL DEAL FOOD. Everything we tried showed up with quality and flavor -- no gimmicks, no fluff, just genuine deliciousness on our first visit. Upon entering, you see a to-go section with frozen high quality dishes to take home, a decent wine bottle selection and rather large beer & cider section, which you can grab out of the cooler yourself, convenience store style or drink it while you're there dining. In the mornings they have fresh pastries and coffee. Tucked inside the restaurant is a cute little bar that feels like a hidden gem : cozy, stylish, and full of charm. The lighting is soft and a few barstools are lined up along a polished counter where a friendly bartender was mixing up drinks with care. I enjoyed the most wonderful Aperol Spritz, sweetened by bartenders choice of prosecco= wonderful! But the food, ohmygoodness- the grilled eggplant stopped our conversation with the first bite; my taste buds sizzled and snapped to attention, wanting more! A drizzle of balsamic glaze over fire roasted tomatos and grilled onions -- rich, tangy, and just a touch sweet -- with creamy goat cheese melted slightly over the top, added a luxurious, velvety finish. I will ask for more goat cheese next time. My bf had the chicken piccata, which was just that- 3 chicken breast sautéed in butter and lemony white wine with some scrumptious capers throughout. No pasta to weigh you down. He enjoyed it with a bottle of Mexican Coke that goes well with salty foods. The cute little restaurant is casual but elevated -- the kind of place where you can relax, eat well and have fun with friends at the outdoor area. The staff was welcoming, and the atmosphere has that perfect mix of cozy but upscale and modern but nostalgic. Their beer, wine, and craft cocktail selection looks like a great spot to please everyone. I hear they make a great espresso martini. Plenty of free parking and I think they allow pets at the outdoor seating.

Came here for a book club and it was an excellent spot! There was plenty of parking between the lot and nearby street parking. They had big tables outside which worked out great for our group. The bartenders were super nice and attentive. Across the table people ordered a variety of dishes and everyone enjoyed their food. The cheese pizza was great. I would definitely come back again and have a cold one on the porch!

Such a good new spot in Plaza Midwood/Villa Heights/Country Club Heights neighborhood. The owner took an older corner store and remodeled it to a market/bar/restaurant. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for pizza and a grain bowl. The sausage and grape pizza was such a good surprise, so yammi! The flavors in the grain bowl went to well together. We sat on the outside patio and will add this place to our new neighborhood rotation of places to visit.

It was $18 for a grain bowl with chicken. The prices are absolutely egregious. But, hey, it's your money.

Very clearly the best late night pizza option in Charlotte. May just be the absolute best pizza…read moreoption period. We stopped in here for a weeknight late bite when our options were somewhat limited. Thankfully at that hour, street parking in NoDa wasn't too bad, we got a spot just off the main drag. Slices here are GIGANTIC, one is easily about 3 standard slices of pizza, or two normal NY size slices. We got a pepperoni and a cheese. The pepperoni had nice kick to them and the cheese was a high quality. You had to let the pepperoni grease drain onto your plate a bit, but that is expected. The thing that makes both slices so good is the garlic butter bath all around the crust that you can see them doing in the kitchen. Not just that, but the texture in the crust will make even non-crust lovers think again. You're basically left with big doughy garlic butter breadsticks. Definitely a 5 on taste. My only complaint, and I'm sure it is partly by design to keep people from staying long, the stools you can sit on to enjoy your pizza inside the restaurant are THE WORST I have ever placed my derrier on. Even for 15 minutes, it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. It took me a couple blocks to start walking correctly again. Might as well just get rid of them and have people stand to eat. Terrible. Almost knocked a star off for it, that bad. Regardless of the world's worst stools, I would come back for more pizza and just plan on not eating it there.

A couple of bites is all ya need to prepare for their delicious pizzas. My go to is light on the Pepperoni Well Done (important) and a side of hot honey sauce and a side of plain honey. Because the hot stuff ain't no joke- I have to turn down the spice by mixing the two. Then it's like the best Sweet and Salty you can dream of then the heat kicks you in the face in the best way. To top it off don't even think about leaving before you have one of their brown butter chocolate chip cookies! They are ridiculous and a must. If no room in your belly make sure to get one to go and you can heat it up to perfection when you get home.

The reason we came in to order to-go was because we weren't happy with the Door-Dash delivery of same last time. The pizza just didn't travel well. This time with our to-go order it traveled a bit better and was fresher. We think it would be even better (4 stars) if we dined in. We also had a nice salad of mixed greens with dried cherries and the like, but it didn't come tossed. The dried cherries were in one corner, the onions in another ... you get the idea. Tossing would have made it easier to eat on-the-go. But the service people were very nice, and the store was clean and roomy with a semi-open kitchen. We'd give this place another try next time when dining in.

Review for Pizza Baby…read more After a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class and sound bath at The Coterie Wellness one evening, I found myself hungry--and conveniently, Pizza Baby had just opened in the same complex. Perfect timing. Since it was still new, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and I decided to grab a table outside. The outdoor seating was lovely--relaxed, comfortable, and a great way to unwind after a wellness session. I'm a sucker for thin-crust pizza, especially when it's hand-tossed and thoughtfully prepared, so one item immediately caught my eye: the rosemary pizza with hot honey. Sold. I added Italian sausage to the pizza and paired it with a fresh green salad (I can never resist a good Green Goddess dressing). Yes, it was a little on the pricey side, but the quality matched the cost--and I was genuinely pleased with my choices. The crust was thin and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the hot honey added just the right touch of sweetness and heat. This is definitely a place I'd return to--next time with friends--so we can share a few different pizzas and appetizers and really explore the menu. A few practical notes: * Parking is generally easy since the restaurant shares a lot with neighboring businesses in the complex * There are several nearby spots, including a wine bar and entertainment venues, which make the area feel lively * There was some early parking congestion when a nearby church held services, but the situation has since been addressed with signage and coordinated parking solutions It's nice to see businesses and community partners working together to make things run smoothly. There's also another location of Pizza Baby that I plan to visit, which speaks to how positive my first experience was. Bottom line: Great thin-crust pizza, pleasant outdoor seating, and a convenient stop after yoga or an evening out. A solid addition to Charlotte's growing food scene--and absolutely worth checking out. And if you're already in the area for a class or wellness session, it makes for the perfect post-workout reward.

It had been sitting there under the lights for too long. Because the place was busy, and we do have empathy for how hard servers work, we did not send it back or say anything. Just ate as much as we could The meatball appetizer was small and not overly flavorful--a lot for $14, just to add that in. Also, many of the appetizers are cheese-type dishes, which feels like a bit much if you're already there for pizza. Why PB puts SO much sauce on their pies, I don't know. They could save a few dollars by cutting the amount in half. Maybe their other pies are not as soggy, and the fact that margherita pies have a more watery cheese is a factor. Still, we nearly had to eat it like soup. The service was fine--could've been a little more attentive. But there are a dozen other pizzerias in Charlotte that are much better.
