Came to Taco Boy on my recent visit to Charlotte. They have a great outdoor dining space and service was great. Some of the highlights of our night were the drinks for sure! They're also priced very well. I didn't enjoy my Korean styled bowl and the wings were just okay. Would probably come again just for drinks and pass on the food.

This really is a great spot to go too. All I can speak to are the wings that are just amazing. This is my second time at this place. And wanted the wings and nachos.

20/10!!! These place blew me away ! I loved the service , vibe, drinks , and food ! They are pet friendly. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Friday night weather. I had the Mexican Cesar salad with crispy chicken. It was sooooooo good ! I keep thinking about it lol I didn't have a margarita this time just a mocktail but it was quite refreshing.

Great vibe! I loved the amount of outdoor space they had - especially with all of the garage door type openings - you could enjoy a nice day from any seat there. We stopped in on a Friday. The weather was great and the place was buzzing. We were immediately able to find a spot - they just have a ton of seating - and enjoyed the sunset. It took awhile for our server to find us, think it must've been a shift change or something, but once he came over, everything was great! He was super friendly. We ordered drinks - they seemed to be out of IPAs at the moment - and food. Everything was good! I'd say nothing here is going to change your life, but the food is solid and the vibe is great. They have a lot of tequila options, which was cool. Being right on the light rail, you can easily walk here (from Scaleybark station) and it's in a central location if you wanted to continue your night out at the bars! Again easy to walk to other spots and meet up with people. We'll definitely be back!

Ate at taco boy tonight for restaurant week. We got the guac and queso with chips which was pretty average. They didn't taste very fresh. For dinner I got the chicken bacon ranch taco and the firecracker taco. Both tacos were very flavorful but the side of rice and beans was also very average. We also got churros that are filled with a cream and tres leches for dessert. Overall the tacos were the best part and everything else was pretty average tasting. Not sure that I will go back. I think this place would be better off just allowing people to order the street tacos and making the sides add ons since they weren't very good. The tacos themselves had great flavor.

I think I have high hopes when I got for tacos as it relates to flavor. That is how I am starting this review. My friends talked this spot up a lot. A group of us went after an event so I was super excited. I think I am spoiled by other restaurant with a similar name in AZ, so I may be bias. There is street parking or you can catch the light rail right there. It's accessible. There's an outdoor area when it's warm. I got frozen lemonade, corn drip, and shredded chicken tacos with rice. The lemonade was great and the dip fantastic. I don't like wet chicken (saucy) in my tacos. I prefer flavor and the chicken being cooked well. The tacos were okay but I brought them home opened them and warmed them in the air fryer. The rice was good. Service was good as we had a big group. The even separated the bill which can be a lot. Two of them worked our table and were very nice. I would probably try something different next time but I will go back. Took a photo of my friend's plate. I forgot to take mine so I got my to go. Too much corn dip

Went here for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was not very busy and we were seated quickly. The vibe I would call it retro meets neon western with a modern twist. Lots of room for large parties. The Kimchi beef taco and the birria taco were really great, as noted by my picture because I ate them so quickly. Luckily they were so good because they held up the carnitas taco which was nothing to write home about. I had the house margarita and house beer contigo was also very good.

I ordered the three taco platter that comes with rice and beans: crispy avocado, carnitas, and birria with a regular margarita to drink. Because I was here around 3 the place was practically empty (a nice change from when it's super packed). This is a great location with plenty of parking options on the street or the garage directly across beneath a series of apartments. The staff was friendly and the appearance itself is one of the better Taco Boys I've been in. Overall I have no complaints. The crispy avocado taco was my favorite and I ended up ordering more to go for dinner.

There are a lot of Mexican restaurants opening in Charlotte these days, and it can be a lot to keep up with. Taco Boy is one you won't want to miss though. It would be hard to miss, because the restaurant is prominently located along South Boulevard at the very hot LoSo area development. They have a vibrant somewhat tropical atmosphere and make a great spot for a night out with friends. They have some unique tacos as well as some more traditional ones. They also have a food happy hour from 4-6 that offers $2.00 tacos so if you have a hankering after work head on over for some tacos and beers. On my most recent visit I was craving a quesadilla and it came out nice and crispy with delicious grilled chicken. This is a great new restaurant for the Charlotte scene and I highly recommend for your next group gathering.

Came here at the end of their happy hour on a Thursday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. Parking was easy to find on the street after I circled once. I found out they do validate if you park in the garage too. Service was speedy and the server did a great job of getting our order in before happy hour was up (the button disappears and you can't order after 6pm). I ordered the firecracker and americano tacos on soft corn shells. I wish I would have done a hard shell for the americano because the soft taco just didn't do it for me. The star was the firecracker shrimp taco on the soft corn shells. Great flavor and almost made me want another one! We also got margaritas and chips and queso and salsa for the table. It was perfect to share 2 things of each for all 7 of us. The seating and inside was intimate enough and open enough to see the tvs and the rest of the room without feeling like you were on top of the table next to you. Definitely will be back to try more!

I've been here several times before writing this review so here it goes: The food is really good, tacos, burritos, quesadillas...it's been consistent with no complaints. The drinks ..eh. I've sent drinks back because one tasted like juice...no alcohol was detected. Another time, the glass was barely filled and again it didn't taste like alcohol was present. I had no issues with getting my drink corrected. Staff is pleasant and friendly. Ambiance is great especially at night on a nice evening. There's outdoor seating with plenty of space so everyone is not bunched together.

This was my first time at taco boy and it was good! I wasn't blown away by the food but it satisfied my craving for Mexican food. We also got tacos and they were good as well. Service was alright, a little slow. Margs were way too sweet for me. The second round we ordered we got the wrong drink but it was still good. The space is really great as well with a really cute outdoor patio. Would definitely try again

Chick peas instead of chips and salsa! It was a NO for me. The best thing about eating tacos is starting with the chips and salsa, so that was an immediate disappointment. I'm sure there's a story behind why, but I'm not interested in hearing it. I had to get my chip fix by ordering nachos, which were presented well and plentiful but on the bland side. The star of the show was the Hibiscus Margarita! Perfectly crafted! All in all, the service was quick and professional. However, not having chips and salsa or food full of flavor, I will admit it's not a spot I will be in a rush to come back to.

They also serve burritos, which looked really good. I asked the staff what they recommended, and I ended up getting the al pastor taco and one of the beef tacos. I can't remember the name of the beef taco, but both were delicious. They definitely do not skimp on the onions and cilantro, so if you like fresh toppings, you'll be happy. My beef taco was just a little tough, but it was still full of flavor and very enjoyable. The ordering process is simple. You order at the front, they give you a number, and then they call you when your food is ready. There are a few tables outside and small tables inside near the kitchen. During lunch, the other side of the restaurant was closed, but I could see the hidden speakeasy style dining area. It looked really cute, and I definitely want to check it out on my next visit. The only thing to keep in mind is the parking. I went during lunchtime, and the parking lot was packed. I had to drive around a few times before I found a spot, but it was worth it. I originally was going to place the order online, but they're online option said it was unavailable so I went inside and sat down at the bar. The service was OK though it seemed most people did not speak English, which is fine. It just made it kind of harder to communicate. That said the food was decent but the reason why I gave two stars was because I feel very misled on pricing. The menu showed Que Siberia tacos three for $12. Steak/Asada tacos for three dollars which brings my total to 15+ the two drinks. I thought she said it was $20.80 so I paid it with my card and gave her five dollars cash for a tip. I get to the car just to double check the transaction and she charged me 3499 on my card and took the cash. I went back inside to confront her about this advising. She completely overcharged me, and she only offered to give my six dollars tip back to me. I am now going to dispute the transaction with my bank because I was unable to resolve this issue. That's sad.

Tacos El Nevado came highly recommended, so I headed over for lunch with high hopes. The restaurant was packed when I arrived around 1:30 p.m., which is usually a good sign. It appears to be a converted fast-food building with its own parking lot, outdoor patio, and a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Despite the Charlotte heat pushing triple digits, the dining room was comfortable and bustling. Service was friendly from the start, and I was quickly seated with ice water, lemon, fresh chips, and three house-made salsas. The chips were excellent--fresh, crisp, and clearly made in-house. The standout salsa for me was the red salsa, which packed plenty of heat and flavor. There was also a tomatillo salsa and a creamy green avocado-style salsa. Both were good, although the tomatillo leaned a little too tart for my taste. The menu is extensive, with everything from seafood dishes and quesadillas to tacos and larger combination plates. As someone who loves sampling a little of everything, I was hoping for more traditional combo options, but this menu takes a different approach. I ordered the crispy taco plate with rice and beans. The presentation was attractive, with the tacos served upright in a metal rack alongside refried beans and Mexican rice. The rice and beans were both delicious and easily the highlight of the plate. Where things got mixed for me was the taco filling. I was expecting a straightforward seasoned ground beef taco, but the beef filling tasted more like a guisado-style preparation with a softer texture and a slightly tangy flavor profile. It may simply be a regional style or a misunderstanding when ordering, but it wasn't what I had anticipated. The chicken taco, however, was excellent. Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with higher-quality chicken than you typically find in a crispy taco. After trying it, I immediately wished I had ordered all chicken. While this visit didn't completely win me over, I don't think it's fair to judge a restaurant by one dish. The packed dining room, friendly service, fresh chips, excellent salsas, and strong chicken taco all suggest there's more to explore here. Next time, I'd skip the crispy beef tacos and dive into the street tacos or some of the house specialties that seem to be what many regulars were ordering. Tacos El Nevado didn't become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Charlotte on this visit, but it earned a second chance. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte. Keep exploring. Sometimes the next great meal is just one menu item away.

The idea is that place your order, pick a seat and your order is delivered to you. We picked our seats at the bar first because it was pretty packed for Friday night. We took our time to browse the menu but we knew we'd be getting the IG viral Sorbet flights we'd seen. Now on first attempt we got our food, it was completely cold. We informed one of the waiters and asked for our meals to be remade. So upon getting my food second time: 1 Birria Taco, 1 Chips and Queso and 1 Chicken Tinga, it was warm. The Birria taco was my favorite as the chicken didn't hold too much flavor for me. Now we ordered 2 Sorbet flights. We didn't get them as advertised.. no rim coating and the flavor offerings were duplicated. As we compared what we got from other patrons we saw what was missing and the flavor differences. Overall our meal and drinks were underwhelming and we let the staff and manager on hand know. She apologized for not making our Sorbets with rim coating and the food mishap.
