For several years, I had considered going solar, and after thorough research, I finally decided the…read moretiming was right. That's when the real work began. I was very specific about how I wanted my 10 KW system designed--both in scope and budget. I also wanted to work with an installer who was deeply familiar with the incentives available in my area. That criterion alone narrowed down the list significantly. When I began reaching out to various companies, I quickly discovered a frustrating trend: many solar installers were locked into a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach and were unable (or unwilling) to work outside of a limited system design. My project required string inverter build, which further complicated the search. Another challenge I encountered was a general lack of knowledge among some companies' sales teams. Many couldn't confidently discuss critical elements like system components or even the federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which is currently in the phase-out period--making it even more urgent for homeowners to act now. After speaking with many companies, I had the good fortune of connecting with Ms. Elena Zenke, owner of Bee Happy Solar. From our first conversation, I knew she was different. She was knowledgeable, flexible, and respectful of both my timeline and payment preferences. She welcomed my involvement in the design process, listened to my needs, and collaborated with me to ensure the system met my vision. Bee Happy Solar is the only company I know of that offers both string inverter and micro inverter solutions, which speaks to their technical versatility. A few months after my installation, I upgraded my home modem and lost connection to my inverter's monitoring system. Elena personally came back to my home and assisted with a support call to the micro inverter manufacturer until the issue was resolved. That level of post-installation service truly solidified my trust in her and her company. The installation crew was professional, efficient, and meticulous in their work. One of the installers even helped me resolve a minor issue with my skylight--completely unrelated to the solar project--and did so at no charge. That act of generosity did not go unnoticed. Post-installation, Ms. Zenke continued to go above and beyond. She assisted in completing additional paperwork for incentives such as the Baltimore County Property Tax Credit and the Maryland Solar Access Grant. In summary, Bee Happy Solar exceeded my expectations at every stage--design, installation, follow-up, and incentive processing. I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone considering solar, especially if you're looking for a customized approach backed by exceptional service and expertise.

On 7/28/2020 a price quote was emailed to us for a shower to be installed and the quote was…read more$3,850.00. Prior to signing off on this quote I question that someone should come back to assess the estimate again and I was told that it would not be necessary. Thereafter, I signed off on the contract for the quoted price of $3,850.00. There was concrete that had to be broken up to have the shower installed which was done. Digging started and my wife was informed that they had to build a wall. I was not home at the time this wall issue was addressed. My wife called me and informed me of the wall that was needed. I gave the ok to let them add a wall. Later that evening I was shocked to hear that a 5' wall was an extra $400 that was not in the original quote. Donnie stated that he didn't realize that there was no wall present when he did the estimate. Had the work not started I would have cancelled the work because the price was not what was agreed on. This was very disappointing to see the price increase this dramatically. I arrived home after work, and I was shocked to see that the wall for the shower was actually in the doorway. Now the bathroom entry door only opens half way so we have to enter sideway. Towards the end of the job Donnie stated that they could install another door to open outward or move the doorway. I did not agree to the additional work because the extra charge for the wall was snuck in. The shower was installed and works fine. The job is now complete and I was informed that I would not be charged for the toilet valve that they broke. In my opinion this obligation was not met, and under duress I paid the extra $400.

I called in the morning. Was told I'd be called back. Waited more than a day. Unfortunately no…read morecallback. I'd have appreciated a straight up "no", or a suggestion that I might prefer to call someone else. But he kept me on the hook until I gave up. Looking for someone else now. I don't consider it professional not to call back when you say you will call back, but unfortunately too many contractors are good, efficient, but not professional business people. Shows a lack of integrity. Maybe he's a great electrician and a great guy, but not a good experience.
