I was referred to the office of Dr. Miles Madison by a longtime and frequent patient but I had an absolutely horrible experience with the office. I was going in for a consultation for dental implants, where obviously no work is done. The previous day, I was asked to come in an hour earlier of the scheduled appointment, at noon instead of 1 PM, which I did. Immediately after checking in, a female technician came up to me in the lobby and rudely demanded "take off all your jewelry now." Hello? This is wrong on so many levels. There are people sitting in the lobby who witnessed this and perhaps I was wearing extremely valuable diamond jewelry and this certainly gave them an opportunity to case me. Beverly Hills is known for jewelry robberies. The second thing was how incredibly offputting to not even say hello and to not grant me any privacy as I removed jewelry from my neck and ears? This was in preparation for a CT scan of my mouth for which they charge about $350 and somehow jewelry interferes with it. Could she have greeted me, and taken me into the room, and then requested I remove my jewelry in private? Absolutely. It's only common courtesy. After that scan was done with the rude technician, I was taken into an examining room where I waited, waited, waited, and waited. It was close to 1 o'clock and this doctor was not coming in. I went out to inquire/complain about it and they said he would be right in. The doctor himself seemed fine and we talked for a few minutes about a potential oral surgery for placing dental implants. Then, I was told that someone would be in in a few minutes to go over the pricing details. Well guess what? I waited, waited, waited and waited for 20 minutes for Laura to come in and give me the tab, on which there were things added on that I later discovered were completely unnecessary to the tune of almost $3,000 for the implant procedure, than another set of charges for "deep cleaning." The total bill she presented was $16,580 and she had me sign it. For what reason, I was not clear. Then I had to walk out through the lobby and have her validate my parking ticket-- oh wait, I had to pay about $545 for the visit which included the doctor's consultation and the CT scan. She acted like she was doing me a favor by validating my parking which I had been told the office did. I had been there for - wait for it - two hours for a consultation that in essence was about 12 minutes. I went down to my vehicle and realized she had forgotten to give me a credit card receipt for the amount so I had to go back up to retrieve one. Great. Clock this visit at more than two hours and an off the charts negative experience. The arrogance and disdain with which I was treated at this office at the recommendation of a patient was unbelievable and to have them waste so much of my time and make me wait to present me with a cost estimate? The whole experience not only ruined my day but I immediately sought the services of another oral surgeon. I found one who did not rip me off for these extra items including "radiograph surgery implant index" for $950 and custom abutments for $825 each. Then there was the deep cleaning they added on for $2380. If you want to be ripped off and treated like crap, this office is for you. Again what a horrendous experience that left a horrible taste in my, you guessed it, mouth. read more

I was missing three big teeth in my lower jaw, both sides. So finally I went to a Beverly Hills periodontist, a bit wary about the pain I would soon be bearing. I was going to get dental implants. Drilling down into my jawbone with a drill bit did not sound like something God meant for one human being to do to another. So far as I was concerned, blood would be spilling from my open mouth and all over my new white shirt. One hour, and three titanium implants later, I can identify for you the perfect dentist, or more specifically, the perfect periodontist: Dr. Miles Madison. First, there was no pain. I mean, no pain. He must've used the world's skinniest needle to administer the Novocain. I looked for the menacing syringe, to prep myself. But somehow he shot me up without me ever seeing it. And things went like clockwork from there, with the topmost concern being my comfort. From his calm and highly professional assistant Shannon, to his pleasant and also highly professional front desk team of Jessica and Laura, everyone treated me with much compassion and attention. It was like being in a top tier European spa. It wasn't cheap, and it wasn't expensive. Per my anecdotal research, I'd say about mid-level fees, for top-level care. A few weeks later, I passed the follow-up with flying colors. Again, no pain, no discomfort. Now I'm on to my regular dentist, for crowns. I wish I were missing more teeth, and could go back to Dr. Madison. Just kidding, but truly a unique experience. read more

Had a great couple experiences at Dr. Madison's office. First was an overall examination and deep cleaning for one side, and other visit was deep cleaning for the other. Both of the girls I met with for the deep cleaning were super nice and helpful, I can't say enough about them!! They really do an amazing job at showing you that they care. I've had a great experience with everyone I've been in contact with at the office and feel so much better about my upcoming gum grafting in the next month or so. Thanks guys!! Omgoodness!!! These people are amazing! First of all the office was extremely well organized with the consultation, the prescriptions, and with the pre and post care instruction. They validate for parking and the was no wait time after checking in. I was scared, but they offend options regarding sedatives. After being numbed and listening to my choice of music the procedure really didnt hurt at all. I got an implant post with a bone graft. I can't believe how painless it was. I have been Dr. Madison's patient for about 2 years and each and every time the service has been stellar. I had to have 2 bone transplants and extensive gum treatment, at which time I had 3 loose teeth that are now stable. Yep I recommend Dr. Madison. I was referred to him by Dr. Strom (who is also fabulous) for an extraction followed by an implant. This process is quite long. Dr. Madison extracted and my tooth a few months ago. This procedure was done in conjunction w bone grafting (I think). I felt no pain or discomfort during the procedure and minimal pain (worthy of taking a Tylenol) afterwards. Everything healed beautifully and I was in early today for part 2-the implant. Again I felt no pain or discomfort during the procedure and currently my jaw feels slightly sore. I'll pop a Tylenol a bit later. Anyway I am sure that this healing process will go smoothly. Dr Madison is an extremely skilled surgeon and I would feel very comfortable recommending him. His staff is also wonderful knowledgeable and generally fantastic. read more

I had to have four teeth pulled, and was afraid after seeing so many friends go through the healing process of wisdom teeth etc. However, the procedure was completely painless and the next night I was already out eating normal food with no painkillers at all needed. Amazing! His precision with the local anesthetic (no IV needed), extraction, and stitches are unparalleled, and everyone I've spoken to is shocked to see me out and about and feeling great in less than 24 hours! I can't imagine ever seeing anyone else, and feel sorry for anyone who gets dental work done elsewhere and has to suffer through slow days of pain medication, a liquid diet, and recovery. I was referred by my dentist to do two implants and add some bone since my own was shrinking. I had no idea how advanced technology is being used now in this field of high-end dentistry (Do you know that your own stem cells are used to speed up healing and ensuring best results?). Thanks to Dr. Madison, I have not only learned about newest techniques in implants and bone graft technology but also about my own jaw structure and quickly shrinking bone density. I loved how thorough and detailed he was in explaining whole process. I wanted to be done with this asap and have my new teeth placed but was scared about pain and discomfort. He offered IV sedation and other relaxing and non-invasive sedatives. I started the procedure a week later and 5 months forward I could not be happier with the results. Dr. Madison's calm demeanor took all of my anxieties away. I was afraid about pain and cost and all of the worst scenarios I read on the internet but none of that was true. Even though he is one of the most experienced and respected specialist in country, his fees are surprisingly affordable. There was almost no pain and thanks to sedatives I had the best night sleep after the surgery. I went to work next day and took only 1 painkiller (just in case). I really like his office, his staff is super kind and friendly. I felt 100% taken care off on each stage of the treatment. I tend to be super neurotic and OCD :) but everyone there was understanding and genuinely caring (which is so rare in LA). That's why I write this and want to share my experience. Dr. Madison is beyond 5 stars; he is simply the most compassionate, caring and experienced professional in his field. I have to tell you I don't have the best quality of teeth and I have been to many Dentists and Periodontal office's. I have never had such an amazing experience!!!! It is a great feeling from the second you open the door of the office. The receptionist always has a smile and welcomes you in warmly. I only waited in the waiting room for less than 5 minutes every time or no wait at all... that is amazing!!! I hate to sit in the waiting room. Dr Madison's assistants all have such a great attitude and are very nice. Finally, Dr. Madison he has a gift that he was born to be become a Periodontist!! from the minute he starts talking to you, you feel comfortable and know you made the right choice. He takes his time to explain what he is doing. I did an implant and I did not feel any discomfort during the procedure or even after. The follow up appointments are all the same. With my busy work schedule, it is hard to find time to go to the dentist. But my girlfriend referred me to Dr. Madison and when I called, the office staff was so helpful and was able to get me in immediately for a cleaning. I was so impressed by the friendly staff and most of all my hygienist. She was so thorough and gave me probably the best cleaning I have ever had in less than an hour. She didn' t just clean my teeth, but gave me some great tips. Apparantly I was brushing and flossing wrong all of this time! Dr. Madison was very professional, personable and I could tell he really cares about his patients. You can tell he is the best of the best at what he does. Lucky for me my gums were healthy! But regardless, he took his time and made my exam worth it- which hasn't been the case in past experiences where the doctor just pokes around for 5 minutes and charges you an arm and a leg! I was referred by my Dentist to Dr. Madison, Periodontist, to do preparatory gum lifting of a number of my teeth for my Dentist's ultimate placing of veneers and caps on those teeth to facilitate a nicer smile. I had been a patient of Dr. Madison's for my cleanings and check-ups and have received excellent care from his dental hygienists which is very important to me as I'm prone to gingivitis. Prior to the recent gum-lifting surgery I was nervous - it's no small thing. My nervousness was quashed; Dr. Madison is clearly a world-class practitioner and not only did he do a beautiful job but there was NO pain during the surgery or after. My dentist confirmed that he hit all of her specs and did a great job preparing the teeth for further attention. Dr. Madison is also a truly genuinely nice person. I am healing from the gum work and look forward to the next steps which will be done by my Dentist. I want to thank Dr. Madison and his spectacular staff especially Julie Fairbanks, the Office Manager, who prepared me for the surgery and was with me every step of the way including helping me with surgery preparation information, matters of insurance and always with prompt replies, patience, a positive attitude and genuine kindnesses and reassurances. To anyone reading this who is afraid of having a dental implant or doesn't know very much about the process, please make an appointment with Dr. Madison. I've been his patient for years for gum issues and regular deep cleanings, but recently it was determined that a dental implant was needed. Perhaps some of you reading this review had a similarly horrible experience with a dentist as a child. I won't go into the specifics but suffice it to say that it instilled in me a deep and debilitating anxiety around dentists. It's amazing how those childhood experiences can control our behavior as adults, but I was determined to get over it. Finding Dr. Madison's practice was the key that unlocked my dental health. I go for regular periodontal cleanings with his superb staff of hygenists (pain free, an important note for me to pass on) and everyone in the office shares the tranquil, reassuring and caring persona that Dr. Madison exudes. So, just like a puppy who recovers from a bad early experience when put into a loving household, years of going to Dr. Madison have relieved me of my dental phobia. Dr. Madison and Julie his office manager and the techs took time and effort to explain the dental implant process to me step by step. Modern dental technology is kind of mind-blowing and I'm so happy to have found the right dentist to benefit from these advances. There was no pain involved at all, just a few visits and the results are excellent. It was also less costly than I imagined. There are scary things in the world, but going to the dentist doesn't have to be one of them. Wow!! What a FANTASTIC TEAM of Professionals. I can't say enough about Dr. Madison and his wonderful staff. Let me start off by saying I've had a fear my entire life of any type of dental work. Therefore, due to neglect of taking care of my teeth, I needed to get them taken care of ASAP. I nervously went to Dr. Madison for x-rays and a consultation, only to find out I needed 4 tooth extractions and 5 implants. Are you kidding me?? But then again, it's my own fault. Once I left his office after the first appointment, I felt very confident and at ease knowing all the extensive work I was about to endure over the next few months. Three weeks later I was set-up for oral surgery to remove 4 teeth, in which 2 were going to be difficult due their size and length of roots. Once again, super nervous the night before about the upcoming surgery, yet at ease knowing that the Periodontal Guru and his Staff were going to take very good care of me. After 2 1/2 hours of surgery the hardest part of the procedure was over. I'm writing this review the morning after and I have absolutely NO PAIN. Maybe a little soreness in one small area, but NO PAIN. I will continue taking advil when needed and finish the antibiotics, yet no need for painkillers. I can't THANK Dr. Madison enough for his Professionalism, care, personality, and the skilled art he possesses as a Periodontist, also know as the Periodontal Guru. I have been going to Dr. Madison for many years and just had a sinus lift done just a few weeks ago. I was nervous so I put it off for years and finally did it. I am feeling great and followed all his directions perfectly and had no swelling or bleeding. He was easy to reach afterward and the anesthesiologist, Dr. Einstein was amazing as well. Both of them checked on me and I felt like I had a team behind me. It is a process getting yourself ready and making sure you have everything at home including food and someone to help for a day so you can rest. You "must" follow the doctors directions afterward with rest, medications, and no exercise for whatever period of time it requires. I applied ice compacts the entire day and night and had no swelling at all. I feel so happy I finally did it. The office team is right there to help as well.
