What stood out most to me was Dr. Monempour's integrity and patience. So often, patients are pressured into complex and costly procedures that may not even be necessary. Instead, he took the time to see me multiple times, reviewed X-rays thoroughly, and advised me not to rush into a root canal. He explained everything clearly, suggested alternative techniques to try first, and even referred me to other specialists to explore more conservative options before proceeding. At no point did I feel rushed or pushed, only genuinely cared for. His high standards are reflected not only in his expertise, but also in the environment he's created and the way he treats his patients. Can't say enough good about this clinic. I had suffered bad nerve damage to my tooth and was having one of the worst experiences of my life when I was rushed in to this office without prior appointment for an emergency root canal. Over two sessions, Dr. Monempour and Dr. Sabet both showed top-level professionality, but at the same time human compassion for me and my situation, which helped calm me down and assure me after what had been a physically and mentally traumatizing event. I had a killer toothache that hurt anytime I chewed on it or ate anything hot or cold, so I went to my Dentist (Dr Silkman, another excellent dental practitioner), who said I probably had a condition known as root resorption where the nerve basically eats the tooth from the inside out. He told me I should go see Dr Monempour, the "rock star of root canals," and he'd take care of me with his advanced microsurgery approach. He had me call Dr Monempour's office right there, and they scheduled me for the next day. As soon as I met Dr. Monempour, I knew I was in good hands. He was very knowledgeable and personable as he confirmed the diagnosis and immediately got to work to start the procedure, even staying late to get it done. He told me that it was a tricky case, but he was confident he could save the tooth, which he did. I felt so much better afterwards. I never thought I'd be happy to have a root canal, but that's how good Dr. Monempour is. Dr. Fred literally the best endodontist hands down!! I was referred to him by my dentist, Dr. Schwartzman. He's also the best dentist. I guess the best knows who's the best in each specialty. When it comes to an endodontist in LA, it's Dr. Fred. He showed me the X-ray and CT scan and explained where the problems were. I clearly saw them and got terrified as the bone below my #12 tooth was missing on top of having big infection. He calmed me down and explained the procedure. It was only for consulting on that day but I believe the tooth was in a really bad situation, he asked me if I had time so he could take care of it on the spot. He squeezed me in even though he was pretty busy. The whole procedure was painless and he said everything went smoothly and was able to save the crown. I took pain relievers on the day but didn't need it the next day. What a relief!!! I can't thank Dr. Fred enough. Thank you x1000000!!! Highly highly recommended. You don't need to keep looking for an endodontist here. Just call his office & make an appointment!! Dr. Fred is the best. No doubt about it!!! I was referred to this office by Dr. Pavlin after she saw a potential cyst/abscess in a new patient x-ray/visit. One day after seeing Dr. Pavlin, a representative from Dr. Monempour's office called me to schedule a CT scan. I was very impressed they reached out to me. I was also pleasantly surprised I could be seen in the late afternoon by Dr. Monempour. The new patient paperwork was very quick to fill out. It took less than 10 minutes. Dr. Monempour was very thorough and efficient with his exams. He could also sense my anxiety about this visit and made sure to address it and comfort me. I was also able to talk to him about a few other dental issues I was having and get his honest input. I'm a little bummed out that I don't need to follow up with him. He is a very personable doctor and you can trust you are in good hands with him. read more

I had a SEVERE toothache in my back molar tooth and I was desperate for help. My general dentist was out of town but his staff referred me to LACOMS thinking my wisdom tooth was erupting. I was able to get an appt the next day and I got my X-Rays and some testing done there, but they concluded that I need a root canal treatment. I was mortified because I've heard of horror stories. The Dr. there personally called Dr. Monempour and asked to squeeze me in for an emergency procedure. It was already nearing end of day, but he agreed to see me and save my tooth. I am forever grateful to have met Dr. Monempour - he made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire procedure. I have major dental anxiety and he was able to provide a mild sedative that calms my nerves. The procedure itself was pretty quick and painless (except when he used an instrument to clean out the canals, I felt that but bearable!). I hope to never experience another root canal but I know I will be in good hands bc I will definitely come back if I need another one. I was pain free immediately thanks to anesthesia and pain meds. However, the pain peaked on day 2 (normal) and drastically improved day 3 and was off pain meds day 3.5. Came back 2 weeks later for the filling and experienced no pain after. Just a tiny bit achey and sore - no pain meds needed. It cost me around $3500 for one root canal + permanent filling The front desk will help submit your claim to your insurance for reimbursement, but you will need to pay the bill upfront. Thank you Delta Dental, who obtained the financial ledger to verify biling for Dr. Monempour procedure on my #14. They have confirmed that Dr. Monempour's office received money not only from the insurance but also from me for the same procedure. I am grateful to finally receive the corrected balance (after pursuing the doctor's office endless times - see dates) and in Feb 2018 I received a reimbursement check for services rendered from Dec 2014 thru Oct 2016. Now, to add my response to Dr. Monempour's post: Right after the rushed exam, feeling uncomfortable and alarmed that #14 is still pulsating, having an odor etc., I contacted him saying that the tooth is continuously bothering me and the x-ray (posted above) seems not perfect either. I received a return email from Dr. Monempour: "I didn't see much of an issue. The lesion we are keeping an eye on is smaller compared to previously. That is why I don't think there is any root canal issue. As for the crowns in your mouth. Any of them may leak. If so. They may cause an odor or taste. It's hard to distinguish which one if any may be cause of this. I think at this point. If it was me. I would wait and watch until something more definitive shows up if anything at all". I am glad I didn't take Dr. Monempour's advice. With huge discomfort, sleepless nights, disbelief, worry and stress, I took Dr. Monempour's x-ray, got second opinions from other professionals that said I probe 10 (!) and it is too late to save this tooth. This was not Dr. Monempour's diagnosis though. Misdiagnosis. Neglect. Disappointment. read more

Nobody wants to hear they've gone from zero cavities to needing a double root canal, but if this happens to you, Dr. Fred is the guy you want to call. When this happened to me, I was nothing short of mortified, but my dentist Kevin Sands assured me Fred was a pro and it would be virtually painless. After all was said and done, he was right. The only thing that hurt was the bill - between a double root canal, an impacted wisdom tooth and the anesthesiologist, I left the chair $10k lighter. Only in LA - I 'came to' in the middle of the procedure (I should note, the drugs alone were worth half of what I paid!) to Dr. Fred telling me we were half way done but he needed to take a break to address an emergency that had come in. I looked up, and standing in the doorway was Diana Ross asking me if it really was as painless as he claimed it would be. At first I thought I was just reallllly stoned, but it turns out it WAS Diana Ross (and I WAS reallllly stoned). A few weeks later, I saw Fred on MTV doing Jessica Simpson's root canals. Go figure. Further testimony to the quality of the work done - months later, I had a head CT done for sinus surgery and the radiologist commented on how great my root canals looked. Talk about a line I'd never heard! If you need an oral surgeon and can sell your first born to afford it, go see Dr. Fred! read more

I just had a root canal procedure by Dr. Monempour and I want to put it out there that I would give a thousand more stars if I could. Dr. M and his staff are amazing. So here's the thing, let me start off by saying. I have two fears: clowns and dentists who are also clowns. I want to also note that my father is a semi-retired dentist, but not specialized to do a root canal on me and I had never had a root canal in my life. He suggested I see Dr. M and thank gawd I got his advice on this one. I can really see why people LOVE this guy. I mean LOVE. I didn't let him work on me. I went because my dentist couldn't tell which of 3 teeth were giving me the problem. I expected a scientific tool for determining this, but instead he tapped on my teeth. It felt arbitrary, like, "is this the tooth that you want the root canal on?" And I would say, " I dont know, that's why I'm here. You tell me!" This continues for 10 minutes until I leave. He still calls me for a $500 payment... For what I'm not sure. I told my insurance company I was not treated, so I guess they didn't pay him. He didn't do anything to me except cause me pain and frustration.
