In the past, I have used companies charging about a 1/3rd of what I paid Splintered Forest, but they ended up hacking my tree and leaving unsightly cuts that caused damage down the road. On the other hand, Splintered Forest uses certified arborists that really know what they are doing. My technician took videos and pictures as he pruned, and kept me up-to-date throughout the process. Highly recommend.

I appreciate their effort in reaching out to make this right.

However all good things come to an end and the tree was telling us so. It was a willow and time to go. We contacted these folks and arranged for a cutting down of the tree so it would not pose a danger to others or to us. The quote was quite reasonable and we decided to go forward. We were in no rush and it was suggested we do so after the Christmas holidays. Monday was the scheduled date. Sure enough they showed up on Monday morning and it took about an hour to cut down the tree. They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. They were careful to remove a bench which was under the tree but not damaged and then replace it in the same area when they were done. We are very pleased with the work they did and they seemed quite knowledgeable. The work was top notch. They seem busy all the time so if you are flexible and can work with them I'm sure any job will be done with great success.

We were on a strict budget as we were trying to fix up the home. We ended up choosing the lowest bid from a small company, deciding to not have the tree trimmed, only the two large removals. I removed the shrubs myself, and we decided to wait and use a more experienced arborist to trim that tree later. Fast forward to 2025, we are now shopping for a professional and experienced person to assist with our tree. I called on a Wednesday and spoke to Chelsea who told me she would speak to Dillon and follow up with an updated quote. No follow up received as of Friday, so I called and left a message. Dillon calls me back all huffy and puffy, and told me they aren't going to waste their time coming out for one tree (we are 11 miles from their office) , and suggested that I call whoever did the job two years ago. Wow. What a professional.

They sent a representative in May to look at the trees, agreed to replace 2 and then their arborist came out to fertilize the trees. She told me that fertilizing them would do nothing - that the trees "boiled" in the sun. She was going to come up with a plan for the correct trees for my backyard and get back to me by the weekend. That was in May. I texted Our Family Tree Service May 28th asking them if they were coming. I received a reply "Yes ma'am - we're putting you on the schedule". That was 5 weeks ago. The attached photos show you what $2,400 buys you a year later. This is my experience with them. Proceed with caution.
