Priya took me in last minute for a Brazilian wax which could be hard to find. I've always been a customer of european wax center for there Brazilians but it's not worth it anymore with their pricing. I found priya to be reasonable with pricing and she did a wonderful job. She introduced me to chocolate wax which was pain free and super quick. I think I found my new spot for eyebrows! I made a last-minute appointment with Ami and so happy that I did. I had let my eyebrows grow out for almost a year due to a bad job prior to this. As one can imagine I was a little hesitant about trying someone new but she was great! My eyebrows look fabulous and I even let her do my upper lip! Kathy was very sweet but she did the exact opposite of what I asked her to do. I appreciated the aloe massage after the service. I said to do light clean up because I was growing my brows out for three months. She decided to not listen to me and shape them how she liked. I didn't really hate having them so thin but that wasn't what I asked for. I still paid and tipped because I'm sure it wasn't her intention to do me dirty like this. Never cheat on ur eyebrow lady... lesson learned. I recommend going to kaya threading in pico better. read more

Okay--after a year in Downey--decided to look for a new eyebrow spot close to home. Epic fail! Went in after reading the yelp reviews (I honestly think they delete the bad reviews) hoping to find my new spot. It was early--only one young (mean) girl attending two ladies. The last one leaves--she takes her to the register--gets her money, thanks her...asks me to sit in stall #2. Then---she grabs string and proceeds---UM NOOOOOO!!! Wash your hands!!! Wash your hands. I want to cry!! So, I politely ask--"are you going to wash your hands?" She is visibly upset. Says, "What?" And so I repeat, "it's just that you just got done with two customers--you touched cash..." She tells me, "I'll sanitize, but I cannot wash my hands!" I feel like I'm in a movie--and I sit thinking--should I leave??? I decide to stay-thinking--you really need your eyebrows done!! She tells me, "you want done or no?". I still stay!!? Ha. So she begins--and I say, "I'm sorry, please don't be mad.." And she says, "why would I be mad at you, you're nothing to me". Lashes came off in 4 days. 4! I had to search on how to take care of them when I first got them on because she didn't tell me anything other than the amount I had to pay. After 4 days went back to see if she'd fill them in for free because the work was horrible. I still had to pay and two already came off ! Now I'm back in the salon waiting for her to fix them again. And she blamed me that i must have wet them or kept touching them, like why ?... Don't come. Value is everything so don't come & fuck up your lashes. I've been getting my eyebrows waxed for nearly 10 years. I usually go to a nail place near me but decided to go to Mila's after my cousin referred me. The establishment looks like it's been recently updated. The inside is decorated nicely and they have nice wood floors. What i hate are the signs. Everything is neon pink and bright. I think with the way it was decorated they could have gotten nicer signs. But i guess these were inexpensive and bright lights and colors do attract attention better. They have a TV which is nice but they play stuff they like to watch rather than stuff the customer would want and so you're left sitting there watching Bollywood type stuff. I don't naturally have caterpillars grazing above my eyes, but i know i can get a full brow if i grow it out a bit. I'm not looking for the frida look but waxing usually leaves me with eyebrows so thin i'm afraid eventually i'll end up with Pamela Anderson eyebrows...Yikes! I'm looking for a camilla belle type look which the ladies at Mila's got down to a science. Brows and upper lip combo is only $12. Honestly you can't beat that. This place specializes in threading which is great. My mistake before was going to a place that does it all (nails, brows, facials, waxing etc.) before i found Mila's. I avoid Ziba only because it's overpriced, so I randomly stopped here today to see what it was like. There are only a few chairs, but there was no wait. $5.99 for threading in Downey is a pretty reasonable rate. Sure, you'll find places for only $5 but I think the convenience of this place wins for me since it's only about 5 minutes from where I live. Parking is in a very small lot but you shouldn't run into any problems. When I went, I waited for about 15 minutes because there was only one person threading. There are two other chairs so maybe it was a day when they were understaffed. I wish they had a frequent user stamp card like other places but the lady said that they would have some next year. I've been threading my eyebrows here for 4yrs since Tiffany was working there, then after she left I was doing them with Roxy. This time the only person there was Ishu.. .I think thats what her name is....really skinny tall girl with horse hair ponytail. As soon as she started my eyebrows she was being beyond AGGRESSIVE and was really hurting me...Ive never been treated this way while being threaded, I sucked it up but then i saw the outcome of my eyebrows! My right one was rounded and my left one was squared!!!!! I just wanted to leave the place....once I payed she still had the nerve to ask if I was going to leave tip...Ummmm no! I've been coming here since 2010 I guess when they barely opened, this was the ONLY threading salon I have EVER been stuck with, NOW THAT'S A RECORD! HAHA! unlike the previous threading salons I've been to for the past 6 years always doing a bad job but NOT Milas.. I've had great experiences the times I've been here all the women are nice, professional but I haven't been here since September 2012 The times I go here my favourite threading artists are never there so I was tired of it, I would call to make sure but they are always there when I show up so I just let a young nice woman to do my eyebrows anyway but she did an ok job but I was not satisfied how she did it but I didn't want to bum her out when she was done, so I never came back ever since and I don't think Shiobana & Malti are there anymore (I COULD BE WRONG) but I will go back here ONLY for facials not threading my eyebrows...maybe who knows read more

The first time I came here I walked in and was pretty impressed with the decor. There's a TV and 3 threading chairs you see as soon as you walk in. I waited for less than ten minutes to be helped because there was only one girl working. (Around 11 am) I prefer when the younger girl works because I feel like I can relate to her more and she knows what I want, and she also gave me tips on maintaining my brows in between getting them done. I had a younger girl the first time I went, but then an older Indian lady the second time. Only 6 dollars for threading is an extremely great deal. I was more than happy with the results. 3 stars because the receptionists pushes so many other things you just DON'T want to get done. It makes people feel uncomfortable. read more
