There is usually one person that takes your order at the counter. She's friendly and extremely efficient. If you only have 30 minutes for lunch, you can get in and out without issue. They have roughly six different lunch specials, ranging from a small pizza and fountain drink, to a slice of pizza and a small salad. Haven't been here since before Covid, still fantastic! Pizza is consistent, nice sweet sauce with a little bit of saltiness the balance is just right. I went for the pepperoni and the pepperoni is spicy, but not too spicy. It was really great! I still think this is one of my favorite pizzas in the city!! It was light, flavorful, service was pretty good since they make it fresh it's a decent wait but not unbearable. Kitchen and dining stress was clean. We went lasts around 12am on a Saturday and the door was open for people to enter but people were smoking and the smell occasionally wafted inside, unfortunately. Milano's is a great place if you need a quick bite before a show downtown! Service is always pretty fast. We have stopped in many times for a couple slices before an event or show and have enjoyed it each time. The slice is large, comes out hot, with plenty of cheese and pepperoni. The slice is also pretty thick, if you like a "bready" pizza. The inside is relatively dated and nothing fancy, but it is clean and has several tables if you want to eat-in. We stopped here prior to a performance at the Benedum. It was not at all crowded on a Sunday at 4:30pm & the seating was up a flight of stairs. Our young female sever was was pleasant. They do serve alcohol but have no list of what they have. I asked for Pinot Grigio & she didn't know if they had it, but they did. Not sure how much it was, but it was a generous pour & was so so. I had the Greek salad. It was large & had so much feta I couldn't eat all the cheese, the Greek dressing was good. My husband had a Hawaiian pizza. The pizza was good, not great, but fine. We just ordered Pizza Milano last weekend, and wow it took me back to the Point Park days! When I lived downtown for school, we would order it all the time. I remember they would sell slices on the street at the location across from the Byham. For a couple dollars you could get a large slice of cheese pizza to eat while walking around downtown. After a day of walking and drinking in the heat, we started getting hangry. I know I like their cheese pizza (with green peppers and black olives), but it is pretty greasy. I called in the order and asked if they had white pizza, and they did! We ordered a medium white pizza and added tomatoes. It was about $15. The girl working at the register was very friendly and had our pizza ready when we got there. I walked back to my parents apartment with the steaming hot pizza box. It smelled SO good and garlicky. The dough is definitely my favorite part of this pizza, so you can't go wrong whether you get the regular red sauce or the garlic white sauce. The crust was soft and chewy in the inside and the white sauce and cheese were good. I would definitely recommend this when you are looking for consistent, take out pizza. Review 325 already! I truly have no complaints with Milano. I have come here for well over 10 years prior to Pirates games or other events. My most recent experience was this past weekend. I was a little disappointed that there were no beers on draft (attributed to Covid) but the bartenders were attentive and friendly. When I have eaten here the food is solid. Portions and quality, so I have no concerns there. I've had wings, appetizers, and sandwiches during previous visits. My sons have had the pizza. The bar/restaurant is clean and a great location. The pizza is generally really good, pittsburgh style (very cheesy, slightly thicker crust). Ranch is not homemade which is a disappointment. The service here is almost always frustrating. ONLY ORDERED WINGS I went to Milano after I was disappointed by a neighboring Greek restaurant. I have Only written two reviews a 1 star and a 5 star, both restaurants on the same street. I arrived close to closing but they were happy to serve me. My wings were freshly fried and are delicious (I'm eating them as I write this). They aren't saucy which is how I prefer them but they are extremely crispy. Why I wanted to give this place a 5 star was the service. I was offered free chicken tenders. ( worse then the wings, but I'd assume they were out for a little bit as they were free) when I asked for a water the man up front asked me if I wanted any other drink for free. However the last two times I've order hoagies I have gotten less than what I paid for. I asked for extra mayo on my sandwich and instead have gotten 2 mayo packets on the side. We ended up hanging out at the upstairs bar at Cafe Milano while we were in town on business. We were actually standing out front checking Yelp for places that had carry out beer, since the place across the street that we were planning to go was closed for renovations. My husband asked a woman that was walking down the street if she knew where we could get carry out beer and it turned out we were standing right in front of a place that had it. Who knew! We came here on a Saturday night with a group of 8 people before attending the Nutcracker at The Benedum. I was able to call and make reservations which was nice as most restaurants do not take them anymore. We walked in and headed upstairs. I ordered a chicken salad wrap that was decent in size containing three main ingredients: chicken, lettuce, and some sort of white dressing. It was pretty average in flavor, with more tortilla than necessary. I did snag a cheesy breadstick from one of the other couples appetizers and it was good! I liked the bread, tasting as if it were freshly made. It does make me curious as to what their pizza may taste like! My husband ordered a bowl of clam chowder and was the last (by a long while) to get his food. The waitress stated that it was delayed due to a fresh batch being prepared, however, my husband said it was not his favorite. This place appears to have potential. Maybe it was my personal order. My wife and I and some friends all met here prior to going to see the nut cracker. We were seated fairly quickly upstairs for our reservation. The inside atmosphere reflects the food, kind of laid back and spacious (large serving sizes). I wasn't too hungry so I just ordered the clam chowder soup.
