I stopped in for a slice after dinner elsewhere because I was craving pizza. I just got cheese and it came up pretty quickly and was nice and hot. Service was just barely ok, definitely not very friendly. The pizza was also just ok. The crust was rubbery, not crisp nor was it flavorful. Cheese and sauce weren't very flavorful either. Overall, it was cheap, just $5 with a tip and really wasn't worth the calories. read more

Milano - Slice of Cheese - Pizza Near Me - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

A quick and affordable lunch spot downtown. From loaded hoagies to Pittsburgh-style pizza (doughy with lots of cheese), this place really hits the spot. The buffalo chicken pizza is the one thing that really stands out. It might be top-3 for me. I go here for lunch when I am downtown, and it never disappoints. There is usually one person that takes your order at the counter. She's friendly and extremely efficient. If you only have 30 minutes for lunch, you can get in and out without issue. They have roughly six different lunch specials, ranging from a small pizza and fountain drink, to a slice of pizza and a small salad. Expect to spend around $12-$14 which is pretty reasonable I think. When you order outside the specials, it can get a little pricey. Haven't been here since before Covid, still fantastic! Pizza is consistent, nice sweet sauce with a little bit of saltiness the balance is just right. I went for the pepperoni and the pepperoni is spicy, but not too spicy. It was really great! I still think this is one of my favorite pizzas in the city!! Also the owner is a very hospitable guy, really nice, easy to talk to. So glad he took over the business. read more

This is a staple in our takeout rotation. They have fantastic crispy chicken salads. Tons of chicken and lots of fries and the salad mix is always fresh. Their chicken tenders and popcorn chicken are great too. We have eaten in many times but typically get take out now. It's a great place and hasn't disappointed us yet! read more

Ordered the Milano's Special pizza. Loaded with all the good stuff. Highly recommend this spot.

Nice guys. Pizza pretty average though. Large for $35 seems steep for what it is???????

Solid spot for a post game slice after a pirates game or late night snack if staying at a nearby hotel. Got 2 slices...they were good but a little greasy The garlic knots were fantastic Staff was super friendly read more

Yum! Some of the best chicken wings that I've had in a long time. The Milano Buffalo sauce was excellent - a sweet, hot sauce. There was plenty of meat on the bones too. The staff was very nice. read more

I ordered the seafood pizza and it was TO DIE FOR several of of friends gave it a try and loved it! It was light, flavorful, service was pretty good since they make it fresh it's a decent wait but not unbearable. Kitchen and dining stress was clean. We went lasts around 12am on a Saturday and the door was open for people to enter but people were smoking and the smell occasionally wafted inside, unfortunately. Maybe putting a no smoking sign out in front of the business when they know they'll be propping the door open. read more

Milano's is a great place if you need a quick bite before a show downtown! Service is always pretty fast. We have stopped in many times for a couple slices before an event or show and have enjoyed it each time. The slice is large, comes out hot, with plenty of cheese and pepperoni. The slice is also pretty thick, if you like a "bready" pizza. The inside is relatively dated and nothing fancy, but it is clean and has several tables if you want to eat-in. Give it a try next time you are in the area! read more

Pizza milanos on sixth Street went down hill. And the staff is very rude. I ordered food last night & I got it 40 mins late , the pizza was slightly warm and the wings were too hard and no seasoning (like I requested) I called to report it and whoever answered was rude. I will never order from here again. Thanks for a waste of $35 read more

We stopped here prior to a performance at the Benedum. It was not at all crowded on a Sunday at 4:30pm & the seating was up a flight of stairs. Our young female sever was was pleasant. They do serve alcohol but have no list of what they have. I asked for Pinot Grigio & she didn't know if they had it, but they did. Not sure how much it was, but it was a generous pour & was so so. I had the Greek salad. It was large & had so much feta I couldn't eat all the cheese, the Greek dressing was good. My husband had a Hawaiian pizza. The pizza was good, not great, but fine. The bonus was 15% off because we had our Covid pre-check wristbands on for the theater & they are a participating discount restaurant. Nothing spectacular but a regular casual pizza joint. read more

We just ordered Pizza Milano last weekend, and wow it took me back to the Point Park days! When I lived downtown for school, we would order it all the time. I remember they would sell slices on the street at the location across from the Byham. For a couple dollars you could get a large slice of cheese pizza to eat while walking around downtown. After a day of walking and drinking in the heat, we started getting hangry. I know I like their cheese pizza (with green peppers and black olives), but it is pretty greasy. I called in the order and asked if they had white pizza, and they did! We ordered a medium white pizza and added tomatoes. It was about $15. The girl working at the register was very friendly and had our pizza ready when we got there. I walked back to my parents apartment with the steaming hot pizza box. It smelled SO good and garlicky. The dough is definitely my favorite part of this pizza, so you can't go wrong whether you get the regular red sauce or the garlic white sauce. The crust was soft and chewy in the inside and the white sauce and cheese were good. I would definitely recommend this when you are looking for consistent, take out pizza. We will order this again, especially because the location is convenient. read more

Review 325 already! I truly have no complaints with Milano. I have come here for well over 10 years prior to Pirates games or other events. My most recent experience was this past weekend. I was a little disappointed that there were no beers on draft (attributed to Covid) but the bartenders were attentive and friendly. When I have eaten here the food is solid. Portions and quality, so I have no concerns there. I've had wings, appetizers, and sandwiches during previous visits. My sons have had the pizza. The bar/restaurant is clean and a great location. You truly can't go wrong popping in here for a quick visit. read more

Tried several different pizza places downtown and this is hands down my favorite. Unfortunately it's also the most expensive slice and so I don't go as much as I'd like. The pepperonis are flavorful and plentiful, the slice is large, and the crust is large and airy. You really can't go wrong! Be sure to stop in as they're open late. read more

Pizza was good, service was good. Guy in the kitchen was screaming orders in a different language so of course it was good.

Overall, average pizza shop downtown. We order here and dine in all the time at my work. The lunch specials are great. The pizza is generally really good, pittsburgh style (very cheesy, slightly thicker crust). Ranch is not homemade which is a disappointment. The service here is almost always frustrating. I don't get how it can be so up and down. read more

We were looking for a place, only thing open. Presently surprised when the food was so good! We got the Chicken Tuscan salad (no pic), Buffalo Chicken (which comes with fries pic doesn't do it justice) and Meat and Spinach pizza (SM which was huge and loaded). Rating should be much higher... I never post but would have missed it based on the other reviews. read more

Ordered pepperoni pizza delivery after late evening ballgame. Arrived fairly fast and everyone was pleased.

I ordered 5 pizzas for lunch for everyone at work and it arrived on time. The pizza is very good.. different from other pizza houses.. fresh and very delicious. The salads I must say are decent. I am weary of ordering them as "take out" because you never know what you are going to get. We had several salad orders and all were fresh and delicious (iceberg). Nice selection of salad dressing too. Thanks Café Milano! !! ! read more

Went here after a Steelers game while staying at the Renaissance. Wanted to grab a couple of slices so I ordered them downstairs and figured I'd grab a beer upstairs at the bar while waiting. What a mistake. After standing politely for five minutes waiting on the bartender to count her drawer I finally asked if I could get a beer. She promptly screamed at me and told me I'm going to have to wait till she's done counting. I mean top of the lung screamed! I actually yelled back at her and told her not to raise her voice at me and the other locals sitting there nearly spit their food out. She must never get a response back for her complete rudeness. Finished my beer and grabbed my pizza to never return. Place really has that kind of creepy vibe going on, so newbies beware. read more

ONLY ORDERED WINGS I went to Milano after I was disappointed by a neighboring Greek restaurant. I have Only written two reviews a 1 star and a 5 star, both restaurants on the same street. I arrived close to closing but they were happy to serve me. My wings were freshly fried and are delicious (I'm eating them as I write this). They aren't saucy which is how I prefer them but they are extremely crispy. Why I wanted to give this place a 5 star was the service. I was offered free chicken tenders. ( worse then the wings, but I'd assume they were out for a little bit as they were free) when I asked for a water the man up front asked me if I wanted any other drink for free. I didn't but I did get a cup of Buffalo sauce. All in all I was just impressed by the kindness of the workers, and the wings to pair made this experience a 5 star. read more

Ordered at 12:02. 1 person ordered right before us. they got their food at 12:15. Waited 15 more minutes as people after us got their orders. still never got ours. Asked the male manager about our order and he said he'd take care of it and give us a medium. Waited 10 more min. Went up to see what was going on as only 2 other people were in there with food. He offered us a barbecue chicken pizza which was sitting up there for however knows long. Waited 5 min and finally got a small pizza after 45 min of waiting. Very disappointed in the service. read more

We ended up hanging out at the upstairs bar at Cafe Milano while we were in town on business. We were actually standing out front checking Yelp for places that had carry out beer, since the place across the street that we were planning to go was closed for renovations. My husband asked a woman that was walking down the street if she knew where we could get carry out beer and it turned out we were standing right in front of a place that had it. Who knew! Anyway, she ended up joining us for some drinks and we had a great time chatting about Pittsburgh and Philly and whatnot. The bartender and other patrons were all very nice as well and the beer was nice and cold. We took some chicken fingers and strombolis back to our hotel with us and they hit the spot. Oh, and of course that six pack of beer!!! read more

Great food poor service. When I order pizza or hoagies I lobby for this place because the taste and authenticity is hard to find. However the last two times I've order hoagies I have gotten less than what I paid for. I asked for extra mayo on my sandwich and instead have gotten 2 mayo packets on the side. I picked up my incorrect order and called in to have my sub remade and delivered. The person who answered put me on the phone with the man in charge to no avail. He told me they were busy and I should spread the mayo on the bread myself unacceptable. If the is is too busy to provide good service maybe we should patronize Giovanni's acRoss the street read more

We came here on a Saturday night with a group of 8 people before attending the Nutcracker at The Benedum. I was able to call and make reservations which was nice as most restaurants do not take them anymore. We walked in and headed upstairs. The place was pretty empty so it was easy to spot our table as it was set for 8 people with a"reserved" sign in the center. We were helped by our waitress right away with drink orders. There were a few times that it took awhile for the drinks to come which was a bit odd as the bar area was not very crowded. The menu is fairly extensive, with a variety of Italian cuisine- pasta dishes, pizza, calzones, wedgies, salads, sandwiches. I ordered a chicken salad wrap that was decent in size containing three main ingredients: chicken, lettuce, and some sort of white dressing. It was pretty average in flavor, with more tortilla than necessary. I did snag a cheesy breadstick from one of the other couples appetizers and it was good! I liked the bread, tasting as if it were freshly made. It does make me curious as to what their pizza may taste like! My husband ordered a bowl of clam chowder and was the last (by a long while) to get his food. The waitress stated that it was delayed due to a fresh batch being prepared, however, my husband said it was not his favorite. This place appears to have potential. Maybe it was my personal order. Maybe it is because it is known for its Italian food. Maybe, next time I need to order pizza. read more

My wife and I and some friends all met here prior to going to see the nut cracker. We were seated fairly quickly upstairs for our reservation. The inside atmosphere reflects the food, kind of laid back and spacious (large serving sizes). I wasn't too hungry so I just ordered the clam chowder soup. My wife had a wrap and some friends got the pizza and buffalo chicken salad. Serving sizes were all pretty huge except for the wrap, making meals reasonable to split. The soup ended up coming out decently after everyone's food. It sounded like the kitchen was still making the soup if the day when I ordered. Overall food was just ok, and a very reasonable price for downtown. They had a decent amount of reasonable drink specials as well. read more
