We arrived just at opening for an early drink before we started exploring the Lower East Side. Mila's exuded French decor and true Parisian ambiance. The traditional mirrored sign, moody lighting, dark wood furniture, and intimate table settings transported us back to France. The bartender was welcoming and attentive, managing front of the house tasks, tending bar and setting up for evening service. He was friendly and our gin and tonics were spot on. Lovely neighborhood find. So glad we started our evening here!

Had an OK experience here. The ginger martini was not good and would order something else next time. The Brussels sprouts had no seasoning and needed to be cooked for longer. The chicken paillard was pretty good with the chicken being thin and seasoned and came with a good amount of salad.

Great local bistro. We were at Mila's Bistro on a relatively busy Sunday evening and had a nice dinner. Started with the Tuna Tartare which was solid. For entrees we had the Duck Confit, Salmon, Pasta Bolognese and the Steak Au Poivre - all good with the Duck Confit perhaps standing out the most. Friendly service and reasonable prices - worth finding when in the area!

Beautiful french bistro ambience with happy hour, and great priced bottles of wine even off happy hour. Beaujolais and the steak au poivre are both hits! You can skip the happy hour oysters, which aren't thrilling. Great spot for happy hour, dinner, or a night cap!

Overall rating: 4.7 I went with a group of 6 and without any question, they were able to split the check SIX WAYS based on what we ordered. Yes, I can't believe it either For that alone and ngl the burger was surprisingly very good, I definitely recommend if you're in the area. Or with a large group of people! Service was nice, quick and friendly.

Went to Mila's for a spontaneous dinner since I work around the corner and was craving steak frites. For my first time here I ended up being surprisingly impressed. Service was solid but I also went during not a super busy time, the calamari is what blew me away the most because I wasn't expecting it to be pan fried/grilled. It was tender and had a very fresh and light flavor although unsure if the orange slices were really needed. My steak was delicious they do make the sauce and flavor very neutral on the steak so it does require you to salt to your liking. The only thing I felt didn't go with my meal was the jalapeño margarita especially when a lot of the menu has French origins the jalapeño margarita just felt very out of place.

The ambiance here is really lovely. Very rustic, chic, cozy, yet well lit on a sunny day. I came here with a group late on a Sunday and it was a great experience. Everything was low key, but the food and drinks still came out very fast. They have lots of french classics, but I ended up getting a pasta dish. I had their butternut squash ravioli and it was amazing. The pasta was clearly very fresh, hand made, and al dente. The sauce was also full of flavor. Everyone else's dishes looked amazing too. I would totally come here for dinner, brunch, or lunch! Great food and great drinks all around. I forgot to take a photo of my food but trust it looked so yum!

Stumbled upon this place on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. They do $1 oysters and they also have a few drink specials. Was fairly empty when I went with only one other party there. They have some outdoor seating and the interior is a very European old school vibe. They had a few seats for outdoor seating and it's in a great corner spot. The only thing bringing this down was my drink - ordered the margarita and tasted a bit artificial to me as I think they used syrup for it. However was still a great deal with the oysters. Overall was decent if you're looking for a quick happy hour spot that can accommodate many people, but not sure I would go out of my way to come here. However if I'm back in the area again would definitely stop by.

Ask for recommendation. They suggested the duck. It's was plain. The salad was just thrown in arugula with tomatoes and lemon juice as dressing. The burger was not bad. The fries were normal. It was not busy inside. Maybe only 1 or 2 tables. But there was 2 tables outside. We sat outside and the whole time there the server only checked on us twice. He was friendly and brought water for the dogs. The food was very basic. The service we felt like they forgot us by the times and interval to check in with us. The other worst thing was the table we were next to. The 6 of them were like chainsmokers. Smoking 3 per person. So we had a very basic dinner with slow service and even if we wanted to finish fast we still had to wait for the waiter to come out to give us our check. We couldn't get out of there any faster. Second hand smoke is the worst when the wind blows it directly towards us and on top of it non stop smokers. Wished the food was worth it sitting and inhaling all that smoke for dinner that night. First time and last time here for the food.

Duck confit was very tender and seasoned well. The escargot also was very tender but it was way too buttery. I did not except it to be out of the shell already. But it was still fairly good. The rosemary margarita was good. Though it was unsanitary because the cup had lipstick stains on it. Taste wise it was good. Such a lovely dinner spot I stumbled upon. I instantaneously fell in love with the rosemary margarita. There's a terrific happy hour special for $10 margs and $2 oysters - with inflation prices these days, it's a steal! But my favorite dish was the French onion soup. It was simply exquisite.

What a hidden gem! The happiest of hours when oysters are $1 and margaritas are $5! This is my happy place. The service here is impeccable. I can't wait to come back and take all my friends here.

It ended up being a nice spot for a casual catch-up, though with a few mixed impressions. The space itself is cute and very much feels like a neighborhood bar. One of the things we liked most was that they have games available--we ended up playing Scrabble while waiting for our friend to arrive, which made the time go by quickly and added to the relaxed vibe. Happy hour prices are solid, and the fried pickles we shared were decent. I also had a watermelon cocktail that was refreshing and perfectly fine, if not particularly memorable. Service was a bit inconsistent. The bartender wasn't very warm or welcoming to us initially, though that changed once our friend--who is a regular--arrived. Overall, it's a comfortable spot to meet friends and hang out for a few hours, especially on a weekday like Thursday. That said, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I can see why it works well as a local neighborhood hang.

Not too crowded, the wait for a pool table was about 30 minutes, enough for a quick round of shuffleboarding. The games are relatively cheap, and there's so much variety, ping pong and board games. The live jazz is really what sets this place apart from the other pool halls, starting around 7 pm with what seems like maybe the house band and I think they have guests later in the night. It's the perfect atmosphere, fun lighting, lots of grungy writing on the walls, good indie music from the 2010s before the jazz starts. Plus the spacing of the tables is good so you're not constantly bumping into other players, which is a pet peeve of mine. I'm sure it's busier later in the night but it's perfect for an early stop in the evening. Cheap drinks and good deals as well!

The whole concept is…read morebuilt around keeping your hands busy: pool tables, ping pong, shuffleboard, foosball, chess, checkers, even some old-school arcade cabinets scattered through a sprawling underground space. It's actually a legacy spot in disguise. This basement used to house Fat Cat, a longtime West Village institution that shut down right before the pandemic, and before that the room itself was a bowling alley, tucked into a 1932 Art Deco building a few steps from Stonewall. Drink selection isn't the draw here, don't come expecting a deep cocktail list. Crowd skews heavily undergrad, and the place is loud, so it's not the spot for an intimate one-on-one or a real group conversation. It's built for a different kind of hang: elbow your way to a table, keep your hands busy, let the noise do the rest. There's also live jazz most nights, which adds a nice layer if you catch it at the right time. Neat place, just know what you're walking into.

Wonderful experience…read more Mackenzie was amazing, helping move our reservation to an earlier time, and getting us the seat we wanted. The decor was stunning. The food: The volcano rolls and bikini had amazing flavor. They really do take care in sourcing the best ingredients. The chef, Issac, brought our burger to the table, and checked in afterwards. It was phenomenal. Layers of flavor. We only needed one, and it was a perfect split (yes they brought a knife to cut it). It deserves all its praise. The mochi fries were a nice add. We finished up with the Hokkaido Soft Serve, courtesy of Angela, our server. Outstanding, and thank you. Patron note, they often run out of burgers early, so an early reservation is recommended. Thank you to the chef, and all the staff for an amazing, never rushed, and very chill experience in the heart of the village. Looking forward to our next visit.

Overall a very mid experience at "Sip". We were excited to come here during our recent trip to NYC…read moredue to Sip being named the best bar in America, but ultimately left disappointed and wishing we had spent our limited time elsewhere. The personnel was nice enough, but we didn't receive the personalized experience that you would expect with this level of establishment. Our server seemed a lot more attentive to other tables. We noticed that our server asked the table next to us, who mentioned they had been to Sip before, what types of drinks they typically like in order to make recommendations (she even sat down at their table for a more intimate inquiry). We did not receive similar treatment. She simply asked for our preference of water and what we wanted. No enhanced descriptions of the drinks were provided. The decor and ambiance is neat, I'll give them that. You go down into the cellar in a Japanese-inspired room that feels like you're transported to Tokyo. That part we enjoyed. However, the tables were very cramped and overall not very comfortable. Additionally, they told us that they had a limited number of menus so they couldn't leave us one to study for our next drink order. Given the popularity of the business, this was pretty surprising. They're not particularly special/unique menus, so they should definitely get more. Strange. The drinks themselves were fine, however, definitely fall into the "high art" category which isn't for everyone and can seem a little pretentious. The espresso martini was the oddest one out. It was clear with a slight brown tint and did not resemble a true espresso martini. It was more of the "essence" of an espresso martini with darker-chocolatey notes. I thought it was decent given what it was, but my partner did not like it as it wasn't what they were expecting. The yakitori-inspired cocktail was unique and delicious, although I would have preferred slightly less char-flavor. The creamsicle-inspired cocktail was overall pretty forgettable. The tomato/garden-inspired cocktail was fine. For food the only notable items we had were the volcano roll and the Hokkaido ice cream. The volcano roll was very delicious and probably the best thing we had all service. The Hokkaido ice cream was strange. It tasted... cheesy? Overall not what we were expecting. We've had Hokkaido milk in Japan and Hokkaido ice cream from other places in America and it has not tasted like this. Overall we were just trying to eat it without thinking about the flavor too much. I can see why some people might be a fan of Sip & Guzzle. I can't say that we were big enough fans to warrant a return visit.
