Love the store, the awesome humans that work there and the clothes. I can not wait for my next visit to La Jolla so I can shop again. Thank you for being so amazing. read more

I am so bummed to write this review. I come to San Diego every year and I have always made it a point to check in at Mila's to buy some new clothes. And the ladies at the shop have always been great. This evening I came a little early before dinner at Georges. It looked like the shopkeeper was trying to close up (it was around 540) so I asked her politely if she was still open to which she said rather begrudgingly that she was but was going to close at 6. I said that I would leave it was her preference. I started looking around and explained that I was only in town for a couple of days and I always looked forward to shopping here! She asked me a couple of small talk questions as I looked around. She then asked if I intended to use the dressing room, to which I said 'no- if I see something I like- I'll know if it fits'--- she then told me if 'I wasn't really shopping and wasn't intending to buy' that she needed to shut up shop because her employer wouldn't pay past 6 and would get angry if she worked late without there being an extra sale! I couldn't believe it! She also said that she already straightened all the clothes on the rack so if I wasn't going to buy anything not to touch them!! I said then and there 'it's clear you don't want me here so I'm going to leave - but I have never been spoken to like this by anyone' --- and I left. It's so so stupid. On average I spend 500-750 in this store. But if I can't look at the merchandise I can't decide if/what I'm going to buy!! What a terrible terrible experience. I've never had anyone speak to me this way. The funny part? I went to Georges and sat down, looked at my watch- and it wasn't even 6pm! So she was speaking to me as if I had been in the store for hours after closing. If you go here to shop make sure to do it during the day! read more

If you are waiting for your table at Georges this place is good to go in to kill time. Everything is wayyyy overpriced but then again it is La Jolla and your paying the owners rent. Alot of the clothes are from China and LA Garment district. You could get them at the Closet for 16.99 but at Mila you will pay 90-120. Another thing i noticed alot of their jackets are from marshalls which they sell at marshalls for 19.99 and they have the same ones at mila for $149 I must say they do have beautiful gowns. The gowns for for $600+ which is funny. They are not couture and you can get them in LA for $199 What i like about this place is it's also an art gallery. Like i said it's cool to go in here to kill time when Georges is running behing on your table. Another thing i don't like about this store is it has clothes in it for 18 year old girls all the way to 75 and it's all mixed in together. Its VERY messy and not organized at all. There sale rack is filled with $3.99 tops you can buy at forever 21 (forever is better quality) and this place has the balls to sell them for 29.99 The customer service is i don't know the word for it but kinda weird. The person that greated me seemed like she was on drugs. Very spaced out! read more

Never coming back here again. The clothing is tacky and of poor quality, and the woman working here was cold and rude. My girlfriend and I received dirty looks the whole time we shopped and the store associate followed us around silently as if we were going to steal something. We were both appalled. Mila will never get a dime from either of us. My girlfriend couldn't believe she was treated this way in her own neighborhood. It is unacceptable. read more

I went into Mila after a nice early dinner at George's when I was in La Jolla recently on vacation. I ended up buying a dress for about $100. I changed my mind about the dress the next day and tried to return it (tags on it, I had the receipt, and it was less than 24 hours from when I bought it!!!). The sales clerk was rude and not at all helpful. She told me they do not return items, but only give store credit. This was NOT explained up front when I bought it that all sales were 'final'. I finally found it in tiny print at the bottom of the receipt, after the fact of course. No one bothered to mention that policy when I bought the dress. Very bad customer service in my opinion. There was nothing else in the store I wanted and since she would not give me my money back, I still have the dress which I likely will never wear. Do NOT make a purchase there unless you are 100% certain about it. They are NOT at all flexible or helpful if you need to return it. read more

I dropped into this shop just before dinner at George's. I saw a pair of pants I liked and told the woman running the shop that I liked them but didn't have time to try them on so I would buy them without trying them on. At NO TIME did She tell me that there were no returns. She told me she would be in the following morning at 9 a.m. The pants didn't fit well and I returned at 9. (The shop actually didn't open until 11). I came back at 11. She said she could give me a store credit but I could not return the item and have credit card credited. I was very angry. She wouldn't budge. I ended having buy something more expensive than the original item. I was very unhappy. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE UNLESS YOU'RE 100% SURE OF YOUR PURCHASE. THE SHOPKEEPER WILL MISLEAD YOU. SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THERE WERE NO RETURNS WHEN I BOUGHT WITHOUT TRYING ON. read more

Every time I'm in La Jolla I always make sure to stop into Mila. It's a cute boutique with a lot to choose from. The clothing is quality and Tammy is so sweet and helpful! Definitely worth a peek! read more

Out of town visitor who initially found the store/owner friendly. I bought a halter sundress to the tune of over $120 with a stitched floral bohemian pattern in the dress. I wore it that evening and by the end of dinner the floral stitching was quickly un threading down the front of the the dress. I took it back and the store owner said it was a fluke and gave me another. The replacement dress I brought home and within a week the smocked backing of the dress fell loose in several places. I contacted the owner for a refund at that point. She refused saying they can't afford to do that and only offer exchanges. I tried to explain that doesn't apply if the item I bought is defective and should be entitled to a refund. She ask why I couldn't just buy something else even though I didn't live in the state and was whining about the little shop couldn't afford to operate that way. She told me she never had complaints about the dress almost as if I was lying. It was a terrible experience and could not believe I was treated so poorly in requesting a refund on a dress that was clearly poorly manufactured.( Found out later the wholesale purchase price of the dress when I found it was $8!! - no wonder) read more

I just returned home after a few days in La Jolla. I unpacked the items I purchased and thought it would be interesting to see what the brands online priced out at, and WOW.... I paid almost double the price in the boutique than what I could have paid for online! I mean really? It's my fault I realize that, but I'm so disappointed to find out what the true cost of the items are. I won't do that again the next time I visit LJ. Ughh read more

Well, I too was waiting for a table at George's while in La Jolla and noticed a cute top at Mila. I got home and realized I wanted it for two upcoming vacations. I called and ordered it. I did encounter problems with the shipping and, with a young sales girl who was not very customer savvy/friendly BUT, Tammy got involved and made it right. The item was lost for awhile and right away, Tammy refunded my money. A month after I ordered it, the top shows up (was delivered to my neighbor who was in Europe) and I called Tammy to let her know the top was found. She told me just to keep it and consider it a gift....a $125 purchase. I tried to pay something but she insisted. From the reviews I read, I do think Tammy is on top of it. Her customer service was very generous and very professional. I look forward to going back to Mila the next time I'm in La Jolla. read more

I adore this tiny boutique and have found some really great items over the years. I disagree with other reviewers re the merchandise pricing-- yes it is fairly expensive but the brands I tend to buy that mila carries, sky dresses, young fabulous and broke, splendid etc. seem to be the same price anywhere you can find them. Sales people have always been super helpful and do not pressure to purchase. I regularly receive compliments on the mila items. Furthermore, I like that mila carries merchandise I rarely if ever see in other stores or boutiques. read more

OMG. I was in this great boutique the girl that help me was so helpful Her name is Olivia: she found many fantastic outfits for me and on top of that I am surprised at their prices! Really not bad at all. A must return. Definitely if you are in the area make sure to stop by this beautiful little shop. read more

First time visiting La Jolla and I left there feeling like I hit the jackpot after shopping at Milas. I wasn't even looking to buy clothes, but instead went there to eat at George's recommended by our Uber driver. I popped in Milas just to browse. The sales lady Olivia was a doll, and so helpful. She immediately figured out my taste and what would look good on me. She even gave me fashion tips and picked out clothes to flatter my body type. It also helped that we are the same age and I found her to be very hip and stylish. I disagree with the others about the clothes being overpriced. I considered this a high end boutique with reasonable prices, and I would expect to pay higher prices for quality clothes. It was an added bonus having Olivia's help. Only downer was I had to buy another suitcase for my trip home. Wish Milas was in Miami. read more

That lady is seriously funny. I had the absolute best time at Mila. Went with some girlfriends and wow did we have a great time. I couldn"t decide which clothes to buy, there were so many. The clothes are so darn cute. They play really cool disco music that makes you want to dance all night. We did not want to leave, no joke. Salesgirl was so sweet and helpful. If your in the mood for some cute, unique stuff, go to Mila. But be prepared to have too much fun. read more

On A resent trip to La Jolla, my wife and I went to Gorges At The Cove for lunch and came across this little Boutique. We were on a short wait to be seated at the restaurant so the distraction of shopping was a nice treat for wife. She tried on a few jackets, one was a Three Sisters that I particularly liked on her. The sales woman Tammy was nice and welcoming and although my wife decided not to buy at that time, she left us with a good impression of boutique. While we were eating lunch my wife, mentioned how much she liked the Jacket along with a little reminder that her birthday was coming up. We finished our wonderful meal at the restaurant and left the area, but this is where the reason for my good review of the boutique comes into the picture. After returning home two days later I was perplexed about what to get my wife for her birthday that would be special to her. I then remembered the Three Sisters jacket. I decided to call the the boutique and was able to reach Tammy there. She surprisingly remembered us and the jacket my wife loved so much. She took the time to ship it out to use and it arrived in perfect time for my wife's birthday. The love of my life, was so excited that I made the effort to first off remember her birthday and then to go as far as getting her a gift that really meant something. I just wanted to say thanks to Tammy for making her birthday very special and one to remember. We will be back the next time we are in town. Thanks Again! read more

So after I received ridiculously insulting and rude service there, I researched Mila to find that I am among many more who feel that they have horrible customer service and insanely overmarked cheap clothes. My Story: My parent were visiting from out of towm and my mother needed a belt. Since were had eaten lunch at Georges, she decided to go into Mila and grab a belt. They did not have the size Medium that she was looking for, but a size Small belt was suffice, so she go it.After wearing it for THREE HOURS, it broke in the middle, not all the way, but the material was cracked. So, I called Mila, and spoke to an Asian woman who assured me that I could return the belt. Two days later, I go into Mila and the lady working, Tammy waited on me. I explained to her the situation and she looked at the belt. She said that she was the one who had sold the belt to my mom, and that the belt was damaged and she could not take it back. I explained that my mom had worn the belt for 3 hours and it broke. Just from looking at the belt, you could see that it was a cheaply made product. It was not real leather, and it was THRITY DOLLARS.THE BELT HAD BEEN WORN FOR 3 HOURS!!!!!. Tammy then goes on to explain that my mom was overweight and too big for the belt and THAT is what caused the damaged!!!! My mom, is not at all overweight and there was no way,and the belt would not have fit if it was too small to wear. I told Tammy that this is a cheap belt and if you were to take any belts hanging on her shelf, and bend them, the initation leather would break, as this one had. Its made from very cheap imitation leather. So, after selling me an overpriced cheap, piece of shit belt, and calling my mother overweight, she says she cant accept the damaged belt. I will never even step foot in Mila again, its ran very poorly, very overpriced, and its good to read other reviews and see that I am not alone!!! MILA IS A HORRIBLE STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must add that they charge more if you use a debit/credit card. Im sure this policy is in place because they want your cash quick, bc they sell very cheaply made clothes and accessories, that you will be returning. read more

Never coming here again. Walked in after a meal at George's and the woman working made a comment to my colleague about how "she needed to pull her pants down because they were too small for her and made her look big." Keep in mind, my friend is a model from St. Tropez who has an unbelievable figure, and her Pinko pants suited her well. Second thing this woman did was tell us not to touch the clothes, even though the majority of her clothes were very textured. This experience was appaling, and very disrespectful. Will not be going back read more

went in Mila's today after a lunch at George's. Noticed the saleslady had a little dog on a leash that was sitting under the jewelry display cases. as we were shopping, i noticed it smelled... turned around, nasty dog diarrhea all over the floor!! i will spare you the details but suffice it to say it was nasty and unsanitary. it was cleaned up right away, but after that, I couldn't wait for my friends to finish shopping so we could get out of there!! I had already purchased a necklace; it was overpriced but it was an impulse buy. I don't see myself ever returning to that store. read more

I never leave negative reviews or review often but with my experience today I have no other option. I'm visiting from out of town and as always love going upstairs to George's for lunch. I was walking down looking for the restroom and noticed the cute boutique so I walked in to browse. I received a phone call and as I was looking around I spoke to my friend. Towards the end, I was leaving and I noticed a dress in the front and touched it and the owner informed me that I was messing up her display by touching it!!! Really how are you supposed to look around without touching something ???? Then she further informed me I came in there to talk on the phone and was messing up her merchandise... by literally looking through the racks. I have never ever come across this kind situation and horrible customer service in my life. If you feel that you don't want a person to be on their phone simply ask them nicely. To be blatantly rude especially in an industry that is customer driven is just unprofessional! I would never recommend anyone to waste their money here and needed to take a moment to express my experience! read more

OVERPRICED and LAST YEARS merchandise .........The sales lady was wonderful, even though I saw the jacket I bought all over the internet for $35.00 cheaper, that's not so bad, but it was from the 2014 collection, that bothered me. I called the manufacture just to make sure... read more

I LOVE Mila Boutique. I'm surprised at some of the reviewers. I felt I had to share my own experiences. Mila has been one of my top favorite boutiques to go in san diego. Best hip woman's clothes, cute shoes too.. the owner Tammy is always so friendly and takes the time to show me her newest lines .. which are always the newest fashion. Every time I'm in La Jolla I make it point to stop to treat myself.. and I'm always so happy when I leave. :) They have some really unique cute clothes, like the well known ema savahl dress ( i have gotten a couple- and get comments every time I wear them out) they are all hand made. I also LOVE their jeans.. they carry this brand called MEK, and now thats all I wear. They fit perfect, make my butt look great, and are LONG.. I'm a tall girl, thats hard to find :) best quality high end jeans in my opinion.. its worth it to pay a little more to have something you will wear all the time - and I also get comments all the time on them. Stop in and check it out next time you are La Jolla, and I'm telling ya.. try on those jeans! You will love them. Love my Mila, don't ever leave!! read more
