Was over at Matthews Festival around dinner time today and got a to-go dinner from Miki's. I had eaten breakfast here many times and always liked it, so I thought I'd try dinner. Got the lasagna special, with garlic bread, and side salad. Very good.

    Ruben and yams. Very good!

Great variety of food. Service is always quick and courteous. I usually get the Reuben which is very good. Comes with one side. There's about 15-20 different sides to choose from. This place is a good 'go-to' spot.

I came here with my friend Jenny Massad for breakfast Sunday morning a week before Christmas. I enjoyed PERFECT over-medium eggs with my crispy bacon while Jenny had savory country ham alongside her fluffy omelette. THE COFFEE WAS EXCELLENT! I understand lunch is pretty good too, especially the chicken tenders. From what I see, it looks like a great spot to grab a meat and two veg kind of deal. Simple, tasty breakfast and great service at a reasonable price. Recommend!

1st time trying Mikkis Found it after we were told of a 30 minute wait at Metro. Walked in and seated immediately. Prices were great, service was excellent and fast. Ordered a Hamburger breakfast and the portions were large, a rarity these days. I recommend everyone try this unknown gem.

Huge omelette, friendly staff, old school good.

We discovered this family-run comfort eats joint late Saturday morning purely by chance, finding a long line at Breuggers. What a nice find! Although too late for breakfast, our lunch was superb starting with the homemade piping hot macaroni and cheese. The corn beef and cabbage was delicious, with thinly sliced lean meat and perfectly steamed cabbage. The country style steak was tender and tasty as were the other sides lima beans, green beans and collards. Yeast rolls or corn bread rounds things out but were just okay. The lack of real butter was disappointing. Service was friendly and attentive. The dining room is simply decorated but roomy and comfortable. Sanitation rating was an impressive 97.5. It appeared that, on this day anyway, most of its workers were family members starting with the involved owner who roamed from table to table, checking on customers. Those that enjoy simple Greek-esque diners that serve up fresh comfort food in large quantities will appreciated this place.

We were the area and were looking for a new restaurant that we've never tried. Doom yourself a favor: go try this place My Chicken Pita with a side of collard greens was delicious. My husband enjoyed his chicken salad sandwich and we will def be return customers.

Great neighborhood feel inside. Have not had a bad meal yet and we go 2-3 times a week.

The Loyalist Market is a gem of a restaurant tucked away in a Matthews shopping center. As a…read morebusiness their specialty is made to order charcuterie boards and they boast a large selection of locally sourced cheeses and meats. Inside however they also have a market featuring lots of local products, and a sit down cafe serving up salads and toasted sandwiches. I came in here on a quiet Sunday afternoon and we elected to sit outside in their walled in patio area. It was a pleasant place to sit and our service was prompt and friendly. For my sandwich I chose the turkey chipotle bacon without the tomatoes. The sandwich tasted great and the bread was toasted nicely. If I have one complaint it's that for $14.00 I think the sandwich could have been a bit bigger, or maybe I was just too hungry because I scarfed it down in an instant! Still the chips that accompanied it were a good snack and I enjoyed my meal. This is definitely a good spot to grab a lunch, I wish I had more time and I would have enjoyed the opportunity to browse their market. Matthews has a lot of great locally owned spots and this is for sure one of them.

I've NEVER experienced such inconsistent hours and menu availability. From what I can tell, the employees seem to be allowed to cut corners as they mentally check out after like 2:30 pm even though they don't close until 4. They say lunch is until 3pm, but sometimes they jump the gun and turn the grill off 15 minutes earlier than that, and if that happens they won't turn it back on for you, even if you are still there before 3. Last week I went in a little before 1:45 and I STILL couldn't get a sandwich because they just so happened to be closing at 2. The lady there didn't offer to let me change my order, upsell me on something different, didn't even apologize for the inconvenience... just flat-out refused me service and then the girl had the audacity to say "maybe I could have made it work if you were here at like 1:40ish..." As if her doing her job is negotiable once she's mentally already back at home on her couch. Never mind that the lobby was empty and she had nothing left to do EXCEPT her job. I was like "that's less than five effing minutes ago, y'all have a problem here" and as I walked out this girl actually yelled after me something like "I didn't know your BLT meant that much to you" Which would be completely uncalled for even if I DIDN'T happen to be someone with a chronic condition which actually does affect my diet. So yes, eating something actually WAS that important to me. This isn't even the first time an employee here has claimed I am 'two minutes too late' to order food off the grill they shut off some 10 minutes earlier than 1 hour early. Those cashiers have the work ethic of slugs. I'd recommend literally any other place for lunch, as the Great Harvest has disappointed me several times now. The first time I ate here I actually left a five-star review, but that was before they changed their hours and I will be removing that review. Since then, I have tried to order more food, but I have not since been one of the lucky few who got there in time for the special window of their shift that the employees actually feel like working!! Congrats to those of y'all who make it!!
