This place was recommended to me by a colleague. He said he loved going here, especially late at night. As someone who works late at night, I always look for places to go during this time because it's rare that places are open after 12 am. The food here reminds me of food that you would pack for lunch. Or food that you would eat at home. Food that you would enjoy from your mom or grandma's home. Comfort food! I enjoyed my corned beef sandwich. It was only $3.50. I loved the teriyaki meatballs. Late night eats in Pearl City, you can't go wrong with Miki's. Located in a small house at the corner of Lehua Avenue And Fourth Street, you can get the grinds from 8 pm to 3 am but they are closed on Sundays. I had my go to combo of lau lau and pastele. Also got the cream of mushroom meatballs and a corned beef sandwich. Don't forget to get a side of their pickled onions to have a extra flavor explosion. Well I was in the area and I finally had the chance to go to Miki's got the BBQ pork ribs and whoa the plate was steaming hot enough that I couldn't hold the plate and eat haha so I put it on the trunk of my car and devoured the plate the bbq pork ribs was good and the Mac salad was ok the service was really quick that the long line I was in went down pretty fast so you don't have to wait long parking can be a bit challenging if there is a lot of people trying to get food late at night but where other plate lunch places are closed there's Miki's! I'm normally eating at home in dim lighting (since it's night time), but I happened to bring my leftovers to work - where's there's fluorescent lighting, as well as sunlight. If I had demolished my food last night, I wouldn't have seen the thin strip of tinfoil sitting on my fork. I got the mixed plate for $15 so I could try a few things and got pork adobo and teriyaki meatballs with Mac salad. Everything was pretty salty and bland in my opinion. After years of passing by this sketchy place at night, I finally got the courage to go and ask my friends to try this place out since covid hours with a lot of restaurants close around 9pm. *Store hours* As of 2022, they're now open from 8pm-3am! I recently had their Shoyu Chicken and a friend of mine had their Pastele Stew. Their Shoyu Chicken had that old school taste and the sauce was thin enough where you could pour it over your rice. My friend said the Pastele Stew was one of the best tasting Pastele Stews he had ever had. He said it has a spicy kick to it, so it's not for the faint of heart. They also serve large portions. They open from 9pm-4am. They're famous for their teri meatballs, but I always get something different since I've tried it multiple times. Last night I got a mix plate of pastele stew and lau lau. It comes with two scoops rice and Mac salad or you can ask for it with all rice if you prefer. The lau lau was big with a very generous portion of meat and it also had a small piece of butterfish. The pastele stew was a little salty, but still very tasty and it had nice size pieces of meat & chopped olives. And of course, their meatballs were tasty as always.
