We've died and gone to BBQ Brisket Heaven, I don't think this could be any better! Extremely tender, super succulent, and downright incredible! When I saw they had 5* on Grubhub I'm like that can't be right...oh boy am I over the moon to say how wrong I was!!!!! If you want some Incredible BBQ......RUN! The sides were Great too!

Mikie's is in a corner of this little strip mall. The location itself has been through numerous incarnations. The interior was once divided by a cumbersome wall and left an absence of a free flowing feeling. It's now open and the bar itself is inviting to sit at. Plenty of seats. 2 pool tables are to the left and 4-5 dart boards are just past. Mikie's offers plenty of on tap drafts both local and domestic. They always have top shelf liquor and the one beertender who's served me is very friendly. Mikie's offers plenty to eat. Maybe too many choices. I'm sure the menu is over 150 offerings. Steak, ribs, chicken, Mexican, wings, salads, pizza, seafood... Tried the wings again tonight. Sweet BBQ this trip. I asked to fry the wings extra long. That's the trick. Crunchy and comparable to other wings in the area. I'll be back to whet my whistle.

I didn't really know what to expect when entering the pub. Overall I was impressed. We went on Thursday which is happy hour on overload. They have .25 wings and drink specials. Trust me on Thursday you don't want to get there late. This place is jumping and the wings don't last long. Luckily we ordered the last 20 wings for the night. The wings were good, drinks were good, and the service was great. This a free local spot on the southeast side of town.

What the heck just happened ?! ... amazing food at a bar? Nobody knows ? I spent 27 dollars at longhorns for a inferior steak, then today I spent 12 dollars on probably the best steak I've had in indiana ?! How? I'm shocked . so today is Friday, which means 12 NY strip with 2 sides. Just a perfectly cooked steak. High quality meat means there isn't that strip of grisl you find on cheap NY strip. I'm seeing everything coming out the kitchen and oh boy it looks good! Oh btw... 1.50 draft beers! Yeah if that isn't enough to draw you in, the steak should . I'm really impressed . I might even come back for Saturday prime rib night.

Public service announcement: awful food. Nice people--but the food not so much. The potato skins were even awful. Super disappointing.

Hidden gem in Beach Grove. Great menu and .25 Tacos on Tuesday. Drink prices are decent, but the Tacos make the joint.

They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

Small, little, somewhat burnt, STEAMING HOT, not-so-buttery and not-so-cajun-ish corn on the cobs. Next we have the chicken. I would've rather grown a chicken, killed it for some wings, made a hat with its feathers and made sensory toys with its eyes The buns were probably the best part. The lettuce was cut smaller than you could ever imagine, the chicken had a good amount but tasted like it was drowned in Franks Red Hot Sauce. The tomato was a tomato This isn't all the restaurant though. The other times I visited here were AMAZING The times I sat in the big room were good because, there were TVs to save my boredom, the built in chargers were neat, and the food was just better! The AVG is definitely a neighborhood tavern. It's cozy and very laid back with high top tables. I ordered an Old Fashioned but mixed drinks weren't really on offer unless it was something like rum and coke. I had a beer. It was fine. We were there for about an hour and a half. I would definitely return. The vibes were slow paced. We moved on to The Checkered Flag. Wowza!! It was a Thursday night but the place was hopping. We were joined by another friend with plans to have a bite to eat. The menu is unbelievable. So much to choose from. We were kind of boring because 3 of us chose the same thing and the other two chose the same item. Two had the pork tenderloin. Both agreed it was excellent. Three of us had the BBQ Pork spud. It's a giant baked potato with butter, a good spread of pimento cheese, moist pulled pork, BBQ sauce, coleslaw and green onions. It was fantastic. Normally the pork can become a bit dry. This was not the case. Cooked perfectly. I was able to order the Old Fashioned. They apologized because they were out of oranges but I was fine. It was a very good drink. There happened to be two musicians performing. I was quite impressed. This tavern was very very impressive. We all agreed to return Our final stop was Herrmann. It's a small brewery tucked away off a quiet street. We were offered several tastings of the beers on offer. We were all able to find something to our liking. I had a porter. There are tables for four spread around the seating area. It's comfortable and definitely a neighborhood haunt. All three places were definitely neighborhood taverns. The Checkered Flag was hands down the best! Indy has so much to offer!
