Aloha, my name is Shawn Holdt and I am the owner of Prestige Plumbing LLC in Kaneohe. We were used…read moreas subcontractors on a few projects for Montage. To this day, months and months after we stopped working for them due to lack of prompt payment on projects, or payment at all, they still have not paid us. We consistently had to chase them for our money. Over and over and over again. We did end up finishing the plumbing on a large job that they started with us in Manoa, in which the home owner had to take over and finish on his own with the help of us subcontractors. It was definitely not ideal for him seeing that he had already paid them major money for work that was never completed, but after a certain point these poor Montage victims have no other choice other than take it on and get it done themselves. Montage continually shuffled me around between this person and that person when I would ask for payment on projects that we had already completed. I've since given up on even trying to deal with any of them. They are not professionals in the least. Bush league contractors for sure. No honor, no integrity, NONE. On top of that, they have no idea what they are doing in the field. Bunch of 2 week class certified project managers that have no idea what its like to be a real tradesmen. I just thank god we we're not deeper into any real money type projects with them because then I would have had to sick my lawyers on em. Save yourself the pain and anguish of giving someone a bunch of money for a project you may, or may not get completed. If they know they are in over their head, they'll abandon ship. If they know they are loosing money, they will abandon ship. And, for all of you would be plumbing contractors out there, hungry for a working relationship with a General Contractor. If I were you, I'd rather go surf or pass on this opportunity than take any work from these guys. It will start out ok, and then turn to total shit. I already know there is a guy that they were using after us who spoke to one of my employees, asking him if we had to chase money like he was at that time. Patterns never lie

I really feel that Gavin took advantage of my trust. Gavin's estimates were higher than other…read morecontractors, but I trusted he would do quality work on the timeline he stated. Took days off work to be here for subs and they were no shows. Gavin will make promises, but is poor at follow up. He was quick to collect payments and then I wouldn't hear anything from him or the subs. I did hear through others that his subs were not being paid for the payments I made for their work. This as well as other things I observed and heard during the process, I would say are questionable business practices. If you want to continually follow up with him, take days off to sit home waiting for someone to show up, no responses to texts and calls, and having to call another contractor to fix the work that Montage did , then Gavin is your man.

I had a rather difficult job that I did not want to do myself. It involved a very small attic space…read moreabove the garage that was not insulated when the house was built. Because we had electrical conduit installed in the attic space for our photovoltaic panels and battery back up, we wanted to have it as cool as possible. I called Harry Oneha, owner of HDrywall to ask if he would be able to do the installation. He came out the day I called and gave me a very reasonable quote. He then installed the insulation within a couple of weeks. The installers were meticulous, covering the floors and walls with plastic. They used planks to ensure no damage to the ceilings of the garage. The height of the attic space went from less than 3 feet at the peak of the attic to zero where the rafters came down the ceiling joists. Despite that, they were able to get insulation into the rafters in all areas. Better yet, even though the attic was a very hot and confined space, the installers did not complain at all... they were actually very pleasant and happy. When they finished in the attic, they cleaned the garage completely and left "not a trace of debris". Generally, when I have a job done, I need to hire another company to fix and clean up after them... but not with Harry's crew! They were amazing. I am a rather OCD person, and if workers can get a good rating from me, that means a WHOLE lot! KUDOS and sincere thanks to HDrywall. I'd have them back to do work for me in a heartbeat!

One side of the basement didn't have any dry wall because of it. He changed all his windows, waterproofed his stucco wall, caulked the "belly board," had his "flashing" & roof checked over the years and nothing worked. Some of the multiple leaks stopped but there was always water damage after a big rain storm. After while he gave up on ever fixing the problem. Then Engineering consultant Horst Brandes came over and pointed out a few areas that could be causing the leak and recommended we call Central Pacific. My boyfriend was hesitant to call because of all the disappointment he's experienced over the years. But I encouraged him to try. Willie came over for a site inspection & was confident they could solve our problems. He sent over a proposal and then scheduled his crew to start work the following week. Willie met his crew on day 1 to review the work that had to be done. Mike & Danny were very friendly, polite and professional. They updated us on what they were planning to do each morning & walked thru what they accomplished at the end of the day. At the end of each day, they left the basement clean and tidy. On day 2, like detectives, Mike & Danny found the source of the leak that no one else was able to find all these years! (Faulty construction left a gap in the floor where the foundation & stucco wall met & window installers created a crack in the stucco wall.) 3 days later everything was repaired so beautifully. After the repairs, Mike conducted several long water tests to ensure there were no leaks. And Willie will schedule a final inspection of their work next week. My boyfriend still can't believe that the leak that was there for so long is finally gone. Central Pacific & Mike & Danny are miracle workers. And we look forward to finally putting up some dry wall. =)
