Pulled pork, wings, Mac & cheese, baked beens, crinkle cut fries, corn nuggets, garlic toast. And great pickles!

Great barbecue and excellent service! Everything we had was really good from the sweet tea and condiments to the sides and meats.

Best BBQ I have ever eaten, love the sauce. Coleslaw was yummy. Will be back when camping at the Point.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, and normally opt just to not say anything, but with the price we pay for food these days I'm compelled to let you know about this and hope you can improve. As a BBQ joint you have four things you gotta do right and be proud to serve, pork, ribs, chicken and brisket. We spent good $ for this sad excuse for brisket please get better at it or have the decency to just take it off the menu. Absolutely SHAMEFUL

this DARLINGGGG ma and pop shop is simply the service is absolutely incredible. the ambiance is so so charming and the food bbq is A+ and came out super quick. we came 30 min before close and the waitress was so sweet to serve us and said she would love to stay later for us. definitely worth stopping into if you're in town! loved every second of it.

Stopped by here for a quick lunch and ordered takeout as covid is still on the rise. I tried the beef brisket and it was pretty tasty and cooked perfectly. It bbq sauce was good and complimented the brisket. The mac and cheese was rather lackluster and reminded me of the stuff that comes out of a box where you heat it up on a stove. The included chips were standard Lays and I would have preferred some other option like home made chips or even fries. The ambiance and service was good and this looks like a place enjoyed by locals.

Cute little restaurant on the side of the main road. Mike's BBQ tastes as fresh as it looks. The atmosphere was comforting and had both an indoor and outdoor seating area. The menu was limited, with few sections with Sandwiches, Plates and Ribs. They also had a variety of sides including chips, potato salad, greens and Mountain Dew Apples. I ended up going with the dinner plate of pulled pork. My plate also came with 2 sides, I chose green beans and the Mountain Dew apples. The Mountain Dew apples were delicious and warm. As for the pork, it was soft and melted in my mouth. The Smokey undertones were complemented by the sweet barbecue sauce. It also came with a side of Texas garlic butter toast! The ribs literally fell right off the bones as you picked them up. They were flavorful and very meaty. The Mac and cheese is a good choice for a flavorful side. Nice and creamy. Would go with this one or the apples. Pro Tip: Come early they have no closing time because they sell out quick on weekends!

Tiny place and a little pricey, but the pulled pork was really good. It's out of the congested area and no wait.

No real barbecue just smoked meat and very little smoke flavor. Pork sandwich tiny for $8. Potato salad totally tasteless. Fast service.

We were next door having a local beer when we spotted some meats walking by, and so we decided what goes better with beer than BBQ! We were not after a full meal, but just something to nibble on while enjoying the views and our beers, so we went with the loaded tots topped with brisket. The tots were solid, brisket was decent, a bit dry. The mac n cheese, while in theory sounds cool on the tots took away from the dish more than it added to it. Again, it was decent and easily shareable, but I would not order again for $17. Service was hit and miss at the bar. Since we were sitting on the patio behind the brewery, we went to the bar for service, which makes sense and was totally fine, but the bartender was not super interested, even though the bar was empty. Overall, the visit was okay. It is a great location and the partnership with the brewery is a great one given their shared space of the beautiful patio. When back in town, we may not seek Smokin E's out, but wouldn't completely avoid it either.

As an app we got; the redneck rolls, very filling so it was 4 stars for me. Now for the main meal: My husband ordered 2- meat plate: the beef brisket was super dry & the chicken he got was okay. He got mac n cheese: 4 stars Texas toast was super oily. and the fried okra was good- 5 stars. I got the pulled pork and that was good: 4 stars, The coleslaw was not good at all, it was very dry and didn't have much flavor. 1 star. Fries were fries. We probably won't be back but glad that they do give you a lot of food.

We shared the Brussel sprouts, the spinach and artichoke dip, and the three Onion and Apple soup. That soup was killer!!! Two in our party had the Tomahawk Pork chops. The gal behind the counter was very prompt and courteous and answered my questions about options on the menu. There is a big stove across the bar so you can see some of the cooking that gets done. The only issue with that is the heat...I didn't want my frosty beer glass to warm up while I enjoyed one of their local brews. I'd rather sit away from the cooking action. I ordered the crab cakes which came with coleslaw. The crab cakes had a nice sauce decorating the top of each cake. I asked for more because the crab cakes were a bit more bread filled than crab filled. I know I am spoiled with west coast Dungeness crab as you get a lot of chunks and not well flaked blue crab, but I really was hoping for more crab than I got for the money. The coleslaw was just okay. It was a nice mayo based dressing but lacked a tangy/sweet combo that I just adore. I am not impressed enough to return.

But a history is not the only thing this restaurant offers. This place is one of the very few that smokes the meat to a very obvious degree. I have not tasted this level of smoke in a while, and it is quite an acquired taste that is not commonly found these days. We ordered ribs, pulled pork, fried pickles, and a blackberry cobbler. The food was OK, yet the ribs had that unique smokey flavor of years past. This place is a gem of the past. The dessert was good, and the service was friendly.

I ordered the ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender. The rub on them was delicious, and their sauce perfectly complimented the juicy meat. I wish there was a little more spice in their spicy barbecue sauce, but it was still delicious. I also tried their garlic salad, and it kind of just tasted like a bottled grocery store dressing without a lot of garlic flavor. The sides were good but nothing standout about them. However, their raspberry lemon cake was incredible. The tart lemon complimented the sweet raspberry flavor perfectly. I'd come back for their ribs and cake any day!

Not only it was on my birthday in which we celebrated. But our excursion to the mountains for the long weekend was a fantastic time. As you can see through the pictures we really went all the way my dish was as abundance of seafood that you could have with an amazing cioppino sauce that was also soppable with crusty garlic bread. The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. Service was ok waitress took a bit to bring the drinks and then the food took about 30+ minutes luckily we were entertained by talking to locals that we really weren't concerned. Overall, the restaurant delivers a pleasant upscale-casual dining experience with well-executed comfort favorites and creative cocktails. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the crab dip and the Sweater Weather cocktail and the fish tacos those were my overall favorites. Prices are mid range. Note that the restaurant as most restaurants in the Blue Ridge close early.
