As a result, the siding was in need of a good cleaning. We contacted ChicagoLand SoftWash and after providing some pictures of the exterior of the house, they provided us with a cost estimate. Their price seemed reasonable. After being assured there would be no surprise costs added at the end of the job, we agreed to have ChicagoLand Softwash clean our siding, gutters, and downspouts. Tom arrived a few minutes early on the agreed upon day and time and commenced setting up his equipment. Although things moved a bit slower than Tom expected, due to low water pressure from the exterior faucets of our house, he completed the job in less than two hours. When we walked around the exterior of the house for the final inspection of the job, the change in its appearance was striking. In the weeks since the job was completed, we continue to be impressed by how much better our house looks since it was washed. Everything Tom said he would do he did. Tom is very professional and seemed genuinely interested in keeping his customers happy. In summation, we are happy customers and give ChicagoLand SoftWash our enthusiastic recommendation.

Total Home Improvement just completed a second project for us. The first was a kitchen remodel and…read morethe second was a master bathroom remodel. I selected Total Home Improvement for my second project because of their commitment to high quality work. Garret lead us through the design phase, Keith managed the project day to day and and Abigail assuring materials were ordered and on time. This team works well together and does not take any shortcuts or compromise in any way. All workers are friendly, professional and ensure proper clean up at the end of each day. I highly recommend Total Home Improvement.

I do not recommend Total Home Improvement, LLC (Third Lake, IL) for a kitchen renovation. I hired…read morethem for my kitchen and my experience was far from satisfactory. I initially agreed to choose THI for my project due to the good reviews online and recommendation from my designer who thought it would be easier to have THI be my contractor since I was already ordering cabinets and tiles from them. My initial consultation with the owner, Aaron Glenn, was great. He seemed to understand the entire scope of the project but ultimately fell short at time of contract signing. There were significant discrepancies, and I felt like I was gaslit on multiple occasions. This company subcontracts almost all of its work which resulted in major inconsistent quality and communication issues. Major delays occurred due to incorrect supply orders and measurements, and the company (Aaron) showed absolutely no willingness to offer apologies, sympathies or compensation for these setbacks. The most concerning aspect was his unprofessional and unethical behavior regarding a final punch list of incomplete tasks and a remaining balance of $2000 of a total $138,000 project. He demanded payment onsite without providing an updated invoice and even threatened to dismantle my kitchen if immediate payment was not made via credit card. He was assured multiple times that payment would be sent after final work was assessed by my designer, just as I have been doing for the $135,000 of work previously completed but he refused to leave my home. I ultimately filed a police report and am still contemplating legal action as he has threatened to put liens on my property. Based on these experiences, I would NOT recommend Total Home Improvement, LLC. If you decide to still pursue this company, make sure you get everything from the owner in writing during your initial consultation. It is critical you have him sign a delay of work contract (clause dealing with delay in performance) and a waiver of lien so he cannot threaten you as he has done with me. If he refuses, that is a red flag, and you should reconsider this company. Good luck on your renovation project and God speed!

Our project was unconventional as we needed a shower fixture for a cinder block shower enclosure. Peter arrived with all the parts required to complete the job without interruption and most of the fixture assembly was done in the back of his "workshop like" truck bed eliminating a mess in our house. The finished product installed on the cinder block wall of the shower actually looks rather nice, considering this fixture is generally placed behind a wall, out of sight with only the shower head showing. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend them to everyone, and for all of our future plumbing needs, planed or emergency, we will definitely be calling Burr Oak Plumbing.

He recommended we bring a basement recovery company out. They verified his initial assessment. (Both consultations were free). At that point our basement basically was gutted and had to be completely redone. This was all very overwhelming, an unexpected expense, and Joey and the crew from Altmann were very reassuring, calming, and helped me personally recover from a very stressful situation. The crew showed up on time, and got the entire basement re-done in under a day. They were polite, professional, and comforting during a difficult time. The cost was very reasonable, their work was outstanding, and I am grateful that they helped us repair our basement, which looks better than it did before! On a second occasion, I had a water spot in my front door closet due to a roof leak. Joey and the crew came out, assessed the damage, checked for mold, and reconstructed the drywall in my front door closet. It looks better than it did before the water spot! I will call them back again and again, because when I'm panicked over home damage, they come, they calm, they fix, and they do the best job. I wouldn't have anyone else do the job!

I decided to go with them. At first, they seemed like they were doing a great job. However, as time progressed there was a lot of shirking and slacking. In my history of hiring people, I haven't seen such slacking. I can understand 15 min smoke breaks, but 40 minutes at each time at four to five times a day...wow! They only put on two coats of mud, so waiting for it to dry in between the two extra times for their smoke break is just slacking. When I thought they were done (on their 40 min smoke break). I called for the final bill. Joey said there was 14 hours of work (max was actually 8 hours) and $75 for the material. They said the extra was for time to get material. They've must have gone to Wisconsin and back. Also, they used my material. I thought it was a little high and spoke to the owner. He told me to "f" myself. Joe has no customer service skills, overcharges; thus, I would avoid his company for somebody more reasonable with a better reputation. They also left the job unfinished.
