I needed to replace the glass for a 18" X 10" picture frame. Called Mike the Glazier who responded that I should come in and it could be done while I wait. I went and sure enough in about 25 minutes it was done beautifully at a reasonable price! Thank you! read more

Within the space of six months our windows got horrible condensation. We didn't want to go for the expense of new windows. We called in September and Chad gave us a fair quote and we decided to move forward with the job. Sunil came to measure this morning and the glass was ready and he installed this afternoon. We couldn't be happier. read more

The tempered glass on my storm door was shattered and I needed a replacement. I searched so many places and even put in a quote request for various businesses here at Yelp; however, I received price quotes ranging from $100 - $275! What?!?! I finally found Mike the Glazier here on Yelp, after someone at Lowes suggested them. Apparently, Mike the Glazier is very well known! I called and was given a price quote of $90 plus tax (total of $98)...now we're talkin'!! I dropped off the storm window frame and was told it would be ready in 10 days. I waited 10 days but nobody ever called me to tell me that the glass was ready for pickup; so I called after 14 days and was told my glass was ready. It would have been helpful if someone had called me when the glass was ready, but other than that, great service and price! Next time I need glass replacement, I will definitely return to Mike the Glazier! read more

Honestly I tried to order online from a few wholesale glass shops. I googled internet wholesale and thought that has to be the cheapest option.. But was annoyed at how the long wait would be to have my glass tabletop delivered. 2 to 3 weeks. I was also scared the measurement wouldn't be right. How do they know where the racetrack slants are? The standard racetracks are 44x84. My primary use is without one slab shrinking the measurement. So I googled local glass people. And Mike the Glazier came up. I got a quote that was lower than the internet price. So figured why not. They gave me a sheet of paper to draw my exact table dimension. And I brought it back same day at around 2pm. Next day I get a call at about 9am. It was ready! Next day glass tabletop versus 2 weeks internet. They helped me load it into my car and even gave me the circle things to hold the glass top, which I was originally going to order from Amazon for $7. Finished product is gorgeous and cheaper than the web shops. I saved nearly $200 plus $7 on the circle holder things. And I get it 2 to 3 weeks earlier that online So here's to ordering local versus online. Who knew your local shop was more price and time competitive than online. I dont knownif you are supposed to tip. Bthese glasstops are so pricey. Ho hopefully I'm giving back by posting a review. Thanks Mike the Glazier! Fully support your business. read more

Horrendous service...worked in the dark to finish the job and then when it came out crappy told the homeowner "well you should've told us to stop working in the dark" Now they want to "work with us" (to fix the work that was already paid for) because they maintain the homeowner should have stopped them from finishing the job... Don't use these people -- they are just handymen at best and not skilled tradesmen or even remotely service oriented... read more

My bathroom mirror cracked and I was quoted $80 for a replacement mirror. Kind of expensive in my opinion for a rectangular piece of glass with reflection but he did get the job done. I'll just have to be extra careful with the mirror. read more

These guys made getting my quarter glass window replaced about as easy as possible. A while back someone smashed the quarter glass on my car and I had been driving around ghetto style with a trash bag taped over the hole. Had called up this shop a few times trying to coordinate when to bring my car in, unfortunately they couldn't order the glass I needed through their distributor but they hooked me up when I managed to find the glass on ebay. Went in on a tuesday morning around 9am with no appointment and was taken care of right away. Good bunch of guys/characters work here, definitely entertaining. I'd recommend taking any window/glass issues you have to these guys. Pretty sure they do apts and houses as well. read more

Would not recommend Linden location in Flushing. My Dad ordered a plexiglass for our front door and they gave him the wrong size. When he brought it back, they said "this isn't ours" when it definitely was theirs. No attempt to help us. Horrible customer service and poor workmanship on the plexiglass to boot. Never again. read more

I was recommended by ABC Locksmtih and was very surprised to get a quick response, estimate and repair technician in a timely manner. We required an interior door glass pane to be repaired ASAP and with a few strokes via email, I was able to get an estimate and have a local technician at my home within the hour. The tech was courteous and professional and very quick with his repairs especially with an old door. Had I not known that the window was broken, there was no evidence of his repairs which were great. Quality work The office staff - 'Vic" was great to work with. I will add them in my database on future jobs. Thank-You Mike! Carlos & Fran Flushing, NY read more

I had been a repeat customer. The service ppl are excellent. However, now having problems with an expensive mirror, only a few years old. The mirror is "desilvering", turning black. Spoke to Mike, who was totally unhelpful and told me he could not do anything for me, unless I paid for a new one! Asked if he could build a border and told me it would cost me a lot of money. Found him rude, and arrogant. I would, never recommend him again!! read more

Always reliable and quick for whatever glass replacement you need. They've been around for a long time.

This company does a great job scheduling, responding and following up to work given to them. I called and scheduled an appointment, they followed up with a phone call to confirm. Quoted me and assured me in two weeks, they could install it. Lo and behold, they followed through! The people behind the phone are polite and straight to the point while the people that repair are really chill and just normal people help us normal people with a window problem. They even clean up after themselves. Now that is service! read more

So glad I decided to used Mike the Glazier. I am always wary of contractors because 90% of them are shady, try to get more money from you, do a shitty job, and never come on time. mike the glazier was completely the opposite-i was thinking something negative would happen but no, amazing. They answered my initial emails regarding estimates and answered my phone calls (and even called me back). I made an initial appointment to get my cracked glass balcony door looked at-came exactly on time! The estimate given to me via email was around the same as what was given to me in person. I gave a check deposit and had new glass ordered. Told it would take 1-2 weeks. Scheduled another appointment once the glass came in. Came on time again and replaced my cracked balcony. They came and did the job quickly and efficiently. My door now looks brand new. Glass repair is not a service i need regularly but if you happen to need some glass fixed, i would highly recommend them! Very reasonably priced and a legit contractor. read more

I went with this company because they were reputable, etc. They mismeasured my door, installed it somewhat incorrectly and than did a sloppy job trying to cover the mistake. I had them come out 2x to check on it and fix. Management prided themselves on being a 4th generation business and in the end, didn't offer anything to fix what was their mistake to begin with. I expect the experts to tell me what my options are and what I would need. Definite a poor job and totally regret using this business. Do yourselfs a favor, if you have a inkling that a job wasn't done right, refuse it and insist that it be done to your standards. Don't let them bully you with their self proclaimed knowledge - I will never make that mistake again. read more

Professional service and staff. Quick with getting an estimate and the job was done in 2 weeks!

These guy's are a ripoff. I had called the company that installed my Bow windows to repair a broken panel. They recommended these guy's. I called the flushing location and was told for the size of the glass it would be $300.00 unless I brought it them. If I did that it would be $90.00 less. I ask that they come out. When I gave them my address they told me I needed to call the Mineola office. When I did the price went to $350.00, because they get a higher premium. Needless to say I was not happy with the two prices. So I did a little research on Home Advisor and found a source that would come out and provide a free estimate. Needless to say their price for the same work is $190.00. These guys are a joke. read more

Work finally completed on our picture frame window. Mike the Glazier called providing a visit date when measurements could be completed so picture window thermopane glass could be ordered then installed. Measurement appointment completed and a return visit was scheduled for actual install. During date of install the replacement glass was completed by Xavier during the end of the work day (we had a 9am to 12noon timeframe however Xavier from Mike the Glazier was running late). It definitely takes expertise to complete this type repair as removing the inside molding was nowhere documented even on YouTube. Was hoping to save a few bucks however the securing molding appeared impossible to remove at least for this homeowner. Definitely not a type of job for even a very handy homeowner as it requires a industrial type suction cup tool to safely handle removal and replacement. Total time to complete the replacement thermopane glass was under a hour. Points to note: definitely contract this type job out...accurate measurement of replacement glass is "on the contractor", availability of tools typically not typically available to the average homeowner, haulaway of broken glass and cleanup covered by agreed upon cost of repair. Moral of the story, double hung windows can be brought to the shop by homeowner if you wish to save a few bucks while you wait, contract picture frame window repairs out to the experts, and finally when you renovate think twice about purchasing picture windows....they cost 4x to replace broken glass at today's current pricing for repairs. If you wish to save money on double hung window pane replacements bring the window to Mike the Glazier and wait at the facility while they make the repairs. You can then re-install the sash and have the repair completed the very same day. It is not that difficult to re-install the bottom sash back into the window opening. FYI, during this repair it would be a perfectly good time to clean and lube the spiral balance, replace any worn or broken pivot shoes and pivot bar. Pivot show replacement will require the use of a spreader however if you need to service a minimum of three or more windows the tool will pay for itself after this use. I've been purchasing all my window parts from swisco.com for years and they are even cheaper than eBay! Mike The Glazier is now in my address book and rolodex! Finally, parking at Mike The Glazier's Northern Blvd location is absolutely horrible so bring a friend to sit in the car while you conduct repair business with Vic or Chad! read more

So a day prior my front driver side window shattered while I was driving, and I needed a new window as soon as possible as I park on the streets of NYC. I first contacted this shady spot "D&D Auto Glass" and they gave me a decent quote. But they royally screwed me over because the glass that they claimed they had in stock was not the right glass for my car. This happened twice with this place (with my previous car too.) Long story short D&D is terrible stay away. But Mike and the guys are awesome, they quoted me for the glass and it was cheaper than D&D and they were able to get it done within 2 hours of contacting them. Flawless install, took them 30 minutes and I was out of there. I ended up tipping the guy who installed the glass for me the difference I saved from the other place. I was that happy about it. They do all types of glass work. Definitely will be recommending this place to all my friends. read more

I walked in and got a custom glass lid/top done for my aquarium. The job was quick (10 mins maybe) and competitively priced compared to other glass companies in the area. They did an awesome job and I couldn't be happier w/ the result. My only complaint would be that email communication was a little slow and unclear. You're better off calling or going there yourself to discuss. The job I requested was probably small compared to their norm though. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a job done. read more

Mike the Glazier is a very professional place to get your car window replaced if there are any incidents happened, such as a broke in or minor cracks on windshield. My Lincoln suv was broke in when I was working in Bronx. The got my window fixed in an hour and cleaned up my seat and everything, very professional. I recommend this place to all. read more

There is a reason that this is a 4th generation business - the entire staff & management know what they are doing! Anything glass related, they can help you out. Windows/Doors/Shower Doors/Storefronts/Windshield replacement. They have helped me change out windshields a few different times due to a car accident 1x and a Tree falling on my car a separate time. I had the pleasure of working with Lance and Chad - they said - don't worry, we can call your insurance/take care of the paperwork, leave your car here, and we will do our best to have it back to you all fixed & ready in a few hours. And they kept their promise. I highly recommend Mike The Glazier for ALL glass related needs!!!! read more

I recently had to replace the front windshield of my car. I called around for prices and found that not only was Mike The Glazier competitively priced, the man on the phone was pleasant and courteous. (A different shop I called was a disgrace. The guy at this other place provided a stark contrast to MTG.) I was able to bring my car into their shop and had everything done while I waited. I think the entire process was approximately 2 hours or so. And while I was waiting I witnessed something that impressed me and makes me want to recommend MTG even more so. A man had called about getting a window pane replaced. he then showed up with the actual frame and glass still in the frame. He was initially quoted a price over the phone, which he agreed to pay. He was on his way out of the shop after dropping off the frame, when the owner stopped him and said he was lowering the price because the glass he needs wasn't going to cost as much as he first thought over the phone. So, if you're looking for an honest, quality, business to do glass work, give MTG a call. My entire experience with them was positive. read more

Seal failed on Marvin casement sash some years ago. couldn't find a replacement to match, and read Yelp reviews of Mike. Called last week, they came the following day and measured, explained the process and quoted me a price. I have known this company for over 30 years. This is my first review and I am sorry I am so late. In the 80's, they did all the glass tops for my antique dining suite and all my antique bedroom furniture---the SAME DAY I CALLED THEM---and they still look brand-new!. Today, my college-aged son brought in the basement window that he broke sneaking into the house after his curfew and while forgetting his keys. They gave the poor kid a great price, told him to come back in an hour, and it was ready. There is a reason this business has been around so long---THEY ARE THE BEST, PERIOD. read more

My experience with this "company" , I use that term very loosely ,was quite horrific. They run their shop like a chop shop, the employees I dealt with seemed unskilled and did a super sloppy job. I sent a flurry of emails the day after I broke my window and Chad was the first to get back to me. With these one-off things, you're typically at the mercy of the vendor. How often does one replace shattered glass windows? That said, I felt completely informed of my options (eg., the price difference between the thickness of the glass which is significant). Chad also honored the price he quoted me over the phone, which probably was not the absolute lowest out there. But again, for these one offs, I'm just trying to avoid the bait and switch. The turnaround time was fast and he even helped load the window into my car. Great experience overall. read more
