Pretty good Japanese restaurant. I went with a group of friends and we decided to do the hibachi option, where your food is prepared in front of you. There was two separate dining areas. One for the hibachi option and one for regular dining. They also had a sushi bar. The hibachi dinner came with rice, fried or white, vegetables, lo mein, and your choice of meat. Filet, chicken, or shrimp. You could also get the combos, like chicken and shrimp which is what I had. Meal also comes with soup and salad. The soup and salad came out first. Once you were done with that, the chef came out and started to get the food ready to cook. He started with the fried rice and the vegetables. Cool part when he was cooking some onions, he kind of did a volcano. He stacked some pre sliced onions to look like a volcano and lit it with some oil. Great for the kids. He also cooked the lo mein in front of us. Plenty of food, as the portions were huge. I had to take a doggie bag. Plenty of parking there as well. I went on a Friday night around 6 pm. Yesterday my family and I went to Mikado for dinner. We requested the grill like always and were seated instantly. The waitress came quickly for our drink order and we knew our food order as well since we've been there hundreds of times. We placed our order as well as our drinks (didn't want the others already seated to have to wait) and when we didn't order meals for our kids she questioned us. We've been going here for over 7 years and have never been questioned about our kids food. Our kids are 6,6, and 3 and don't eat enough to feed a bird. We never eat the "free" noodles they give you but our kids love them so we've always given them ours plus part of our meat and veggies because we can never eat it all. plus we order them a soup of their own since it's their favorite and have NEVER had an issue doing this. But for some reason last night this new waitress made a fuss about it and reported it to the management who then said we can sit in the dining area instead of the grill if that's what we planned on doing. I'd understand the fuss if my kids were older and could eat a full $15 kid meal but they're not, they're small and don't eat that much. I'm still paying for their soups and drinks and our meals so why does it matter if I am sharing my over abundance of food with my kids? Sushi place right off post. Pretty good. The military has brought me to a lot of places and sushi places outside post can be scary but this isn't bad. Definitely a sit down place for dinner and great quick pickup for lunch for that sushi craving. Prices are reasonable. Quality of the fish isn't bad but it's not great either. I am rating this 5 stars because it is possibly one of the better places in Hopkinsville, KY. You get the biggest bang for your buck and service is great. They are so tentative and remember your face when you come inside. There is a lot of space for dinner with friends and an easy spot for a quick dinner for two. stop in you won't regret it, that spicy tuna salad, or poke Salad is great!!!!! Went on Valentine's Day then again today and this is hands down the best hibachi/sushi restaurant in town! I was a loyal Fujiyama sushi fan but Mikado is just as good if not better and so much cheaper ! We had the Fuji Mountain roll, super crunch roll, lobster roll and the play girl roll! Honestly, this place was absolutely AMAZING! We walked in and were sat almost immediately. No wait hardly for our server to come and get our drink orders & back again for our food orders. Our hibachi grill was almost full so we had to wait a bit for him to take everyone's orders but I didn't really care. Our chef came and gave a great show while making our food, very interactive and funny. Our server made sure to keep our drinks full during the meal. The reason I can't give this visit 5 stars is because A.) our rice had a bit of hard pieces in it that I had to keep picking out of my teeth. It was slightly annoying and made the rice not as enjoyable as I'd like. B.) because it took the chef a little longer than I'd like for him to cook all of our food. It was my first visit so I wanted to enjoy the whole meal at once, instead of in pieces. But I did however LOVE that we got 2 sides instead of one (like the normal place we go to). We were passing through on our way to Florida. I didn't know the area or where to eat dinner. So I used the internet to see how people had rated the restaurants around Oak Grove, KY. I picked Mikado and we're glad i did. It is a Japanese Hibachi restaurant where they cook at your table. After a short wait we sat at a table with some other couples. We ordered soon and they brought our drinks. We watched the chef complete the dinners for the adjacent table. He left and returned shortly with the food to prepare for our table. He had a good presentation of his cooking skills and prepared our food exactly as we wanted it. The price was a little on the pricey side but the food was excellent. read more

Ordered a pickup order on postmates and sent my husband to pick it up. This woman REFUSED to give my husband the order because he couldn't remember the name of ONE ROLL that I ordered out of the entire order. He had the name, the pickup time, and knew the number of rolls and what sides we got but that apparently wasn't good enough. Liked this place because it was close but the service is absolute garbage, eat in service when we've gone in is subpar at best. It's worth the drive into town for sushi from now on. read more

The Sushi is really good. The staff other than our waitress is is very friendly. Honestly kinda disappointed in the service. 1st off she came over asked if we needed more time. She did not ask if we had any questions about the menu or explain how their ordering system worked which apparently was you writing down your own order on this large sheet of paper. My husband said yes. But, I said I just had a question about how to order the special that was on the board. She said that she would write it in, but did not and Just stood there staring at my husband who had said he needed more time. Then after a few minutes. I asked my husband if he needed more time. He said yes and she finally walked away. Then when she came back, I told her I wanted the big tempura roll that was on special on the board. Then my husband told her what rolls he wanted. Which was only two, she picked up the pencil and put in front of my husband. (I understand that's how it's done. But she wrote down my order on her pad, she couldn't write two more rolls) Then she came back to ask me again what I had wanted. So three times I had to tell her. Any who. We got our rolls as they came out. Not all at once. Then she came over to ask if everything was okay. Then disappeared until she reappeared with the check. I said out loud so I guess were not getting any more food. Typically when I've been to a sushi place I don't order all of the rolls at once. Nor do I write down my own order on the pad of paper. But OK so we didn't order any more food because we were not asked if we wanted anything else. Which we wanted more rolls and dessert. Nor did she refill our drink order not even once. To be honest she was very rude and she was just on caring about us getting any service. The other staff had asked us several times if we had been served. They seamed great. Wish we had gotten one of them. After waiting a few minutes for her to come back and pick up the check we assumed that we had to go to the front to pay our tab. As we got up to the counter when the other staff said have a nice day, we said we haven't paid our bill yet can we do this at the counter. I'm not sure who the manager is but to be completely honest I feel like I don't wish to return to somewhere that the food is good but the service is kind of terrible. We had dinner here on a Sunday. Off the bat, it was discouraging to see that I would be charged an additional $2 if I wanted fried rice, which is a standard menu item and most hibatchi grills in the area. Secondly, the portions are a lot smaller than the other restaurants. My husband typically cannot finish his entire meal but finished his instantly even after having ate throughout today. Thirdly, the waitress offered the other children at the table a mint or candy of some sort yet didn't offer my children any. My children didn't even misbehave or act foolishly so either she forgot or just didn't care. Our "chef" barely interacted with the table despite the fact that it was completely full and had 5 children sitting at it. The menu also states that you are not allowed to share your food. I'm gonna hope that means no splitting a plate because if i feel like giving my husband or children something off my plate, vice versa, I'm gonna do it. Overall, I am disappointed that we decided to try this place and skipped out on our usual Japanese spot. If you want quality, quantity, fried rice included (spicy rice at no charge) and a chef that interacts with you, I'd recommend Sakura. read more

The best of Clarksville/ Oak Grove. We went here on a whim for a Sunday afternoon lunch. We got the crazy boy and play boy sushi and they were delicious and fresh. We had hibachi but not at the grill and it was also very good. It was reasonably priced for sushi and hibachi. The steak and shrimp lunch was $15.95, I believe. The restaurant is very nicely decorating and high-class (as high-class as you get in Oak Grove KY). There is a sushi bar, a large dining room, hibachi grill room and even a small bar. They also have a separate banquet room (small). We've received decent waiter service, albeit slow. Any sushi roll, soup, dumpling, etc has been very fresh and tasty. No complaints whatsoever. First Japanese place we tried since moving here. First we sat at the table for 45 minutes before a cook actually came. Then my grandmother wanted ranch dressing for her salad, the waitress said we have it, but we're not supposed to give it out. This is the first place I've ever been to (and we're military and have been to our fair share of hibachi) that charges $2 for fried rice...the quality of the food was terrible. The food was substantial amounts for take home for the next day to enjoy and we loved everything about this place. I complained to the manager she acted like she was going to be helpful but she only took off 10% I obviously was not happy and she knew she was wrong which is why she didn't come back out from the back. My go to sushi restaurant! They will always have the best caterpillar sushi ever. And their hibachi is amazing. I always order the donburis and they never disappoint. Two words: simply amazing. I definitely consider myself a sushi connoisseur. After living overseas wth the military in the land of sushi, I have very high expectations. Most places in the mainland US just don't seem to do it justice. I am blessed to have found what is undoubtedly the best authentic sushi in the mid south. I have been here twice and both experiences have been exceptional. I order the deluxe sashimi dinner. It is not only beautiful plated, but the quality, freshness, and deliciousness of the fish assortment is true perfection. The sushi chef is amazing -- very friendly and personable, and obviously his craftsmanship on sashimi is on point. If you are a true sushi lover, in its purest form, this is the place for you. My boyfriend wanted to try this place out for a while so we decided to stop in. It has a good atmosphere, and our waitress was very nice and attentive. We decided to go with the hibachi section of the restaurant and I'm glad we did. It took a bit for the chef to come and start up the grill after placing our orders, but that is to be expected for hibachi places. The cooking itself wasn't extremely entertaining or anything, but I wasn't expecting a vegas experience anyway. It was still interesting seeing the way the chef sliced and diced everything though. We just moved to the area and this was our second time at this restaurant. The first time was great! However, this time not so much. We got to the restaurant about 6pm and our food didn't start getting prepared until a little after 7pm! There were tables that came in after us that were getting theirs done before ours. And it wasn't until I had to go complain to the lady at the front that someone finally came. The chef apologized but we were already kind of annoyed. The food was great but the portions were small. My husband and i always order double fried rice so we have some to take home and this time neither of us had extra. (Same goes with the vegetables). I actually have been eating here frequently since I came to Ft Campbell in 2014 and the food is mediocre but the lady at the front desk needs to not speak or deal with the customers. She is probably the rudest restaurant employee I have ever encountered. She has been rude to me on more then one occassion and today she basically yelled at me for asking for a pack of soy sauce. She had an entire box of the soy packets within arms reach and did not want to give me one with my lunch special. She told me that I need to specify wanting a pack of soy sauce when I place my to go order. Then she scowled at me when I did not tip her on my $8 to go order. (the first time i've never tipped at a non fast food restaurant) I enjoy the $8 lunch special (and sometimes dropping $80-$100 on my family at dinner) but I definitely will be choosing Yamato or Shogun next time I want Japanese food. All three of us ordered Hibachi. I was kind of disappointed with our chef, because he had absolutely no personality. He did the lava coming out of the stack of onions deal, but not a whole lot else. He didn't flip the shrimp tails, he didn't pretend to put pepper in people's drinks, nothing. My sister-in-law tried to joke with him to get him to loosen up, but that didn't work. we have gone to mikado countless times and never had a bad experience until tonight 6/11/22. apparently yum yum sauce is an extra charge, which is absolutely fine, but that was never communicated. our waitress ignored us multiple times and our drinks were not refilled multiple times. we asked for more yum yum on a few occasions and our requests were met with eye rolls. then we were told it was an extra charge, and half of the table was charged for yum yum while the other half of the table wasnt. when we mentioned it to the lady at the register the amount of attitude we were met with was ridiculous, and the tip was already added, which gave the waitress much more than was deserved. we love mikados but this was absolutely ridiculous and could've been resolved with communication and kindness but it was not. we wont be back for a while. read more

The waitress had no idea what anything on the menu was and she even lost our ticket, so another waitress came by and asked us what we ate. They also forgot to take the menus so they awkwardly were in our way the whole time. We waited for 30 minutes on the check. Now to the food. We had the eel and tuna sushi which was pretty good. We also ordered the lobster roll, playboy roll, spicy dragon roll. The presentation of the rolls were stunning! So colorful and plated all cutesy. I highly recommend the spicy dragon roll, really fresh tasting. The other two rolls were so bland and mediocre at best. The crunchies and the shrimp tempura tasted old and stale, both rolls were just slabbed on with some sort of mayo-like sauce. It was disappointing and the bites were outrageously huge. The sushi rice was hard and some of it felt like old stale rice. Overall we did not have a pleasant experience and def won't be coming. read more

They messed up my order and literally fought with me for a good 5-10 minutes before they finally took my order back!! I had to ask for a manager( was very polite) and she still argued with me until FINALLY they took my order back and let me order something different!! Also, was charged for a soup and salad that I thought was complimentary since the waitress brought it on her own. If I had known they would charge, I would have declined.
