We had a wonderful experience with The Floor Center. We had a long scar in the floor of our 1940s…read morehome that had been poorly patched when someone had removed a wall long ago. Robert's team led by Carlos laced the wood back together (they had to take up a larger part of the floor because the boards didn't line up perfectly on either side of the old repair) and were able to reuse many of our existing boards to do it, you can see the new wood over by the wall in the collage. They sanded the floors down and prepared three stain samples (bottom left photo of the collage) based on colors we picked from a fan book they loaned us. The bottom right photo is the finished product and we couldn't be happier with how the floors turned out! They took great care of our home, using plastic to cover the openings to the kitchen and all vents so the dust didn't end up anywhere it shouldn't, and cleaned up the remaining dust when they finished. The stain is Nutmeg from Duraseal on red oak hardwood, with a Satin finish polyurethane sealant.

Monday Leo arrived on the hour and had everything he needed when I met him at the door. While there Leo pointed out small cracks and seams I had never noticed. The tile in one bathroom was discolored, and he said it could be cleaned and sealed, and we needed tile flooring in our other bathroom replaced. Randy was friendly and approachable, and I planned to see how the smaller project went before hiring him for the larger project we needed tackled. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. A subcontractor/employee showed up on the agreed date to clean and seal the tile, and spent a couple of hours what sounded like physically scraping the tile - not what I expected. His coworker showed up a couple hours later, and told me that this plan was not going to work - that even if they could get the tile clean and seal it, the staining would come right back. He told me to have them leave, because Randy would still charge me for them being there. I went in the bathroom after they left, and it literally looked no different except there was dust everywhere - they did not clean up. I waited for a follow-up call or email from Randy - nothing. I was mad, but decided to put it behind me. A week later, I received a bill. I wrote a very frank email to Randy explaining my disappointment with the workers sent, the fact that no work was even done, and my confusion that he didn't even bother contacting me afterward. He apologized profusely and said he would follow up with me the next day. He did not follow up with me about the work, ever. But I have still been getting bills from this company!! I have emailed him multiple times, and he's told me to ignore them, but that is not an acceptable response - every time I see one of these emails, I am newly angry about the time I wasted on this endeavor. I gave him plenty of time and opportunity to make this right, and he did not even bother to try. I am writing this review because once again, I have gotten an invoice for this "work". Would not recommend.

Nothing was right - we needed a relatively plain, white background floor tile to go with our late 80's kitchen cabinets. On a whim really we went to Porcelanosa in West Hollywood because I drive by it all the time. They had EXACTLY what I wanted and the sales person (Tala) was terrific. She always replied to me by text and email almost immediately for the few follow up questions. Even the delivery went well. The tile had to be shipped from NY and yes, it was more $ than the other Dal tile, but let me tell you, it's gorgeous. The install is nearly complete so I will add photos later.

However, trying to communicate with her via phone and email has proven to be extremely difficult. She doesn't follow through and ordering a part seems to be impossible because she says she will send me photos and prices but never follows through. All I want is to pay for the part needed so that I can purchase a new shower handheld... And it's been weeks and Koren has been extremely unhelpful. I would like to work with someone else to get my needs met.

We had hired interior designers to help spec a top-shelf kitchen, guest bath and kids bath remodel. They had selected some tile and stone but we were not convinced that all together it would look good and POP. We gave up on our designers (after $$$$ spent) and decided to try out on our own. We've visited all the specialty tile stores in the area All Natural Stone, Tile Shop, Tile Fantastic, etc. They had some interesting product, but we didn't see how it all would come together. Then we tried Towne Tile and met Chris. We brought cabinet door sample and existing tile and stone picks. We chatted a bit as he tried to understand our style and wants. Then - get this - he explained the theory behind matching cabinets, countertops, backsplash, above-range focal point - colors, materials, "movement". It was a complete eye opener. My wife and I felt like we were just given the keys to a magic kingdom of design process. In under an hour, we worked with Chris to completely spec out all kitchen stone, and I can't wait for it to be done. Then, we came back and in another hour or so finished design for both bathrooms. Their website says "We Know Everything about Tile and Stone". It's true.
